The release date on Zavvi says Release Date: 31 December 2016

So they're taking pre-orders over a year in advance ???!!!!????!!!???

And I thought FilmArena were bad.

It's a placeholder, it'll be released much sooner.

I saw the movie again last night, but this time in 3d. I thought the 3d effects were ok but nothing special. So in fairness I'm not overly bothered about the 3d disk. If it's included, cool. If it was a choice between an extensive extras disk or the 3d disk, I think I'd go for the extras.

I saw it in 3D on my second viewing and agree. There were a few nice moments but overall I much prefer the 2D presentation (same for most movies to be honest). There was a fair amount of noticeable crosstalk in my screening, hoping this was a result of the cinema's setup and not something inherent in the conversion

The release date missing again must have been a temporary glitch to list as sold out while they changed the listing on the website when adding details or removing details such as release dates
This happens often with Zavvi when they change the website listing they get listed as sold out temporally and most time only for a few min and not get noticed by most
They sometimes forget though to make the listing live again after updating

Just read that there will not be an extended version of this on home media but there will be deleted scenes
Apparently roughly 30 minutes were cut from the final theatrical version but it's not been confirmed if we will get 30 minutes of deleted scenes yet

I actually watched that last night after I found out the news I posted. The austrailian guy does a lot of these too and is good on Easter eggs in the marvel world.

Just cancelled my zavvi order for the force awakens steelbook

This morning I read on the dutch site bol com that there will also be a dutch steelbook issue

Strangely enough this site has also an issue to pre order for a 3D + 2D blu ray for Star wars the force awakens

I have to say that this site is not very reliable regarding upcoming issues and their site is not always very accurate, but I sure hope we will get a 3D blu ray version of the force awakens, even if I have to buy a separate steelbook and a separate 3D blu ray disc

Yes but the normal zavvi steelbook is also €34,-
And if I can get a dutch steelbook for €6,- more , I am willing to pay this.
Even if there the netherlands will not release a force awakens steelbook I would have chosen for the french force awakens steelbook because the french almost issue every steelbook with dutch subs
