XM definitely needs to get rights to distribute their product in the USA! I'd love that Daredevil statue, but not for the $1,000+ it will cost me!

Sorry, haven't been in for a while and just jumped into your conversation. :p

Lou - to answer your question a few pages back, I did get that recipe on the old board, but never put it to use. Do you play any sports? I'm on a slow pitch softball team and think I ticked the other team off tonight for trying too hard...I only know one speed, ha.

There he is! :D

That XM Daredevil statue looks so freaking cool! I'm sure that will be another one that goes for an extreme amount once it hits ebay.

I think she is playing that CGI character that hands over Luke's saber in the new teaser. You can catch a glimpse of the character in the trailer just as that scene comes up. Could be wrong though. Yeah, no idea on Serkis though.

I'm all for 1/3 scale. And, I'm willing to pay XM prices if it means better QC, better CS, and more product. So, I guess GG is going the way of Attakus then?

LOL! Yeah, I'm the same way. Balls to the wall! ;) Yeah, I do play sports. Nothing organized really just whatever people put together. Around this time I start adding outdoor Crossfit and Volleyball for fun. I don't think I'm going to diet this summer though. Last summer I was 174. Now I'm 193, and just loving the strength gains too much!

I should have known you hadn't tried it. If you had, you would have told me how could something so simple taste so good! LOL! I just had it a couple nights ago but with broccoli instead of asparagus. So good!

BTW, how do you like the likeness on your Han Hoth figure? I haven't seen in hand pics yet.

Yup, I'm pretty sure thats who she is playing. We couldn't really get a good look at her though. But I'm sure we will in upcoming trailers.

The downside with XM for me is they are all fully sculpted. I think my favorite part about SS's stuff is the mixed media outfits.

I really hope Prime 1 gets the SW license. I'm already super excited to see upcoming stuff from their DC license. They have an upcoming 1:2 Ledger that would be perfect for your daughter thats the big Nolan fan.

Wow, you've put on some serious pounds in 1 year! I'm around 200 right now, could stand to lose some pounds. I was 175 when I was in the Army, of course that was 10 years ago.

I just pulled the Hoth Han out then put it back in the box so no pictures. The likeness is good, but there's still something that doesn't make it look as life like as the Hot Toys figures. Can't quite put my finger on what it is. Do you have any of the Hot Toys figures on order?

Now that's awesome! I'll definitely get that for her.

Yeah, mixed media is what I prefer also. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing what Prime or XM could do with the license.

From the teaser, the character looks short, yellowish, almost kid like.

Just the 1/4 Boba. I've been thinking about their 1/6 stuff, but maybe will just wait to see what they do with TFA. I honestly don't want to buy Vader, Stormtroopers, yadda yadda all over again.

LOL! Same! I could lose about 10lbs and sharpen up my midsection, but I've never felt so solid. I feel like I'm getting to old to worry about a 6 pack. ;)

My midsection is starting to bug me a little, but it's my own fault as I do zero cardio. If I were past 40 I probably wouldn't care, ha (just giving you a hard time). I met a guy at work the other day who was telling me he's on no carbs because he wants his abs to pop. Based on his appearance and the fact that he kept calling me bro, I almost asked if he was from Jersey!

I saw Lou made it to the Avengers, have you seen it yet Josh? Are you guys going to do a midnight showing for Star Wars? I haven't done that in forever but might have to for SW!

I'm hoping to see some new company announce they have acquired the SW license during SDCC. I don't know why, but I have a feeling Prime 1 is going to get it.

I still haven't seen it yet. I'm waiting for my brother and I to get a free day together. Hopefully by this weekend I'll see it. I haven't decided yet what I'm going to do for SW. I think the last midnight showing I went to was actually Spider-Man 3 back in '07. I can't believe its been that long. If SW would open in May like it should have I would most likely do the midnight thing, but since its coming in December I'll have to think about it. I love SW and all but if it ends up being super cold or a snow storm I might wait till the next day. If I was in my teens or twenties I would have done it without thinking about it twice, but now in my 30's I think things through more lol. Lou said he's got a deal worked out with his theater so he gets to stay warm and toasty inside while everyone else has to wait outside. I wish I was that lucky!.

Oh yeah! I got it all planned out already along with getting my family in the theater long before anyone else can. :D

Cardio has imporved my workouts bigtime! In my quest to get huge, when I was younger, I skipped the cardio in fear of losing muscle. Once I added it though, as I got older, I was able to push harder, and train longer. Such a benefit in many ways. I say, if you can, add 3 20min sessions a week. Start by just walking on a treadmill.

Holy crap! I've gone low on carbs, but damn! Lowest I go is about 80-90 when dieting, and of course having a carb loading day twice a week where I double or triple that number. The thought of going that low now makes me tired just thinking about it, LOL!

LMAO! You can still see'em, they just aren't as razor sharp as last summer.

I'm hoping to see some new company announce they have acquired the SW license during SDCC. I don't know why, but I have a feeling Prime 1 is going to get it.

Man, I hope you're right! I seriously want to see another company give SS a run for the high-end SW statue market.

You'll have to let us know when you've went so we can all talk about it! I know what you're saying about being in your 30s and going to midnight showings now. When I told someone I was going to The Avengers on opening night they asked if I meant the midnight showing. That thought never even crossed my mind, I was thinking "who stays up past midnight?" Ha, oh the joys of being older and working. The last midnight showing I saw was X-Men 3. When I was in the Army I went to the midnight showing of the second Matrix movie and had to be in formation at 5:30 that morning...definitely couldn't ever do that again!

I know I know, I've been saying for the past decade that I need to do cardio, but I can never make myself do it. Now I'm so badly out of cardio shape that I really can't talk myself into it! I know that it would definitely help my workouts though. I'm impressed you can still see your abs, mine are somewhere under there, ha ha.

So I was reading a thread on the Sideshow Freaks forum and they said that Sideshow doesn't even have the license to make The Force Awakens products, maybe there won't be any premium formats ready for the movie! They said as of right now, Hot Toys and Anovos are the only two with licenses in the high end market.

By the way, this guy went up for pre-order today. Pretty awesome!

Ha! Dude if I had the money or the free time for a trip to Washington I'd totally take you up on that. I think if I go to a midnight showing I'll go full out SW nerd and be one of those people who bring their lightsaber in there and go waving it around and screaming when Star Wars pops up on the screen after the A long time ago.. part.

I'll definitely let you guys know as soon as I see it. I hope its soon. Actually the last Marvel movie that I went to see in the theater was the first Avengers. :(

Oh man that must have been so rough getting up that early after seeing the movie. I'm definitely starting to act my age and so are most of my friends. Some of them are married now and they just want to sit around whenever they have free time and they rarely ever feel like going out. I'm not even married and I feel the same way. I basically bought myself a nice little theater system for my place just so I can chill and watch all my nerd movies in the comfort of my own home without having to go to a movie theater and deal with all of the younger nerds lol.

If SS doesn't get the TFA license thats going to blow. But it almost serves them right with the amount of QC issues and lack of SW PFs over the last couple of years. They are cranking out three times as many or more DC and Marvel PFs as they are SW ones. I'll more than likely be busting my HT cherry with a TFA fig, more than likely Kylo Ren. I just hope they put up something from TFA up for preorder during SDCC. It would be nice to have a figure shipping out by the time the movie comes out.

Oh, and have you guys seen the recent price hikes at SS? Besides Darkseid PF costing a ridiculous $599, Arkham Bats PF went up for order at $469, and Red Son Superman goes up Thursday for $469. The Superman is just a freaking variant for crying out loud! And their trying to charge $70 more! I'm hoping these hikes makes SS lose some customers so they learn to chill with these prices.

The Sandy looks really good!

I seriously hope Prime or XM get the TFA license. I know I sound like a broken record, but damn! That way SS can just pump out stuff from the saga and TCW. I'm starting to wonder if statues will become more rare. You know, like during the dark times. Before Attakus, GG, and SS.

Speaking of Attakus, a friend told me that she heard they were still going to make more SW statues, and to "be ready." LOL! Whatever that means.

Hmm, so if I buy your plane ticket, you'll come then. Hmm, hmm? LOL! ;)

I know exactly how you feel. I don't have kids and I still don't ever go out. I have a friend who is 32 who still tries going out drinking all the time like he's 21, he's having all sorts of health problems right now and can't seem to figure out that a lifestyle change is what he needs. A night out for me these days is going over to my brother's house and watching movies with my nephews. :)

I'm a little disappointed with your Marvel movie attendance! (joking) I think the only Marvel phase 1 and 2 movie I didn't see in the theater was the first Iron Man.

Do you have Jedi robes to wear to the SW premier? I really wanted one of those Anovos stormtrooper costumes, but worry about the armor pieces fitting on my arms, ha. If they make a rebel pilot uniform I may bite.

That Red Son price is insane! It's just a reused sculpt with a new costume, absolutely no way I'd buy that (especially at that price). Their prices are getting out of control, I'm finally going to have to get more picky with what I buy. I'm totally bummed that I'm not going to have a Darkseid in my collection, but unless he goes on sale or they go back and make him bigger (which won't happen), I have to take a stand somewhere. I wish other collectors would follow suit and stop forking over these insane prices for the substandard product SS is starting to spew out.

Yeah, saw that! I can't wait until they start cranking out TFA stuff!

I have to admit, that makes me a bit nervous when it comes to the future of SW statues. Hell, the only high-end manufacturer to have the Rebels license is GG! I wonder if that means we will see a decline in the high-end SW statue market now with Disney? At least HT can make 1/4 figures I guess.

It's weird that you have to get the license for each movie. Seems to me if you have the Star Wars license then you should be able to make anything Star Wars! Feels like Disney is more controlling with who can make what.

I will try to start this weekend doing 20 minutes of cardio three days a week. I'm already dreading it, ha.

LOL. If I get a vacation ever I would definitely take you up on that :D. And before I leave you could "borrow" me any SW statues that you don't have any room left to display ;)

I'd really like to see what XM could do, but at their prices I could never make any kind of a collection. It would really come down to picking and choosing. It would probably be the same way with Prime, but I think they will be at least 1:3 scale, unless they can acquire the TFA license and SS can't. If that would be the case then they would probably make 1:4 scale.

I never kept up with Attakus at all. They have a Vader one out there that a lot of collectors consider the ultimate grail Vader statue, but I've seen it and it doesn't do anything for me.

LMAO! I totally want to see more Marvel movies at the theater, but its like all of my nerd friends and I can never get on the same schedule, or their wives force them to stay home lol. Other than that I'm just lazy it doesn't really bother me to just wait another 4 more months for the Blu to come out lol.

I don't have any Jedi robes or any costumes, but thats probably because I would have nowhere to wear them. When I went to the AOTC midnight opening there was like absolutely nobody doing or wearing anything Star Wars-y. And when I went to the ROTS midnight opening there were only a couple people that were dressed up, and some people with lightsabers, but it was never like other theaters I've seen all over the country on the news when its like the whole freaking audience dresses up. For whatever reason people here are much less into being nerdy than other places. Hopefully that changes a lot with this new trilogy and spinoffs.

I'm really going to be picking and choosing with Sideshow's new prices. I've seen a lot of people posting that they are passing on pieces just because of the price alone, so I hope Sideshow is seeing that. The Darkseid PF has the most ridiculous and confusing pricing I have yet to see from them. Thats the one that scares me the most. Its not big, it doesn't look that complex but for whatever reason Sideshow want to charge $600 for it. I would have definitely bought both of the Arkham PFs they had out but those things are at least $50 overpriced a piece. I can't for the life of me figure out how Red Son Supes is $470. I'm really worried to see what prices will be on stuff at SDCC. If they bring out stuff that won't go up for preorder for another 6 months that have a TBD pricetag, I just know some of those will probably run at least $500 a piece by then.

Ugh, I just realized Aquaman is probably going to cost $470, that is just ridiculous! Flash will probably be $500+ by the time he comes out. There are still a bunch of characters I want that I'm probably going to have to pass on with the ridiculous pricing. I don't order anything day one anymore, might as well wait to see if they go on sale. Seems like lots of collectors are starting to take that approach.

You could just wear the Jedi robes around your house. Imagine how awesome it would be if someone looked in your window and saw you jumping around wielding a light saber in full Jedi garb. :p My friends and I didn't wear costumes, but we coordinated shirts for The Avengers movie, here's a picture.

Oh man! That is an awesome freaking pic! You guys really went all out and coordinated. I hope everyone there noticed your group's efforts. On a side note just from looking at that pic it I can instantly smell the popcorn just looking at the area LOL.

I fear what both Aquaman and Flash will cost. Sideshow pretty much has everybody by the balls that was planning to collect the Justice League that already has Supes, Bats, WW, and GL. Greedy bastards. Its really pointless to preorder stuff on day 1 anymore. Even if you want the Exclusive they stay in stock for at least a few months, and by then they should at least be coupon eligible, even though its only $20 off. And if you are planning on getting a Reg than its almost best to wait until the piece is in stock at retailers, then you can really look around to find the best deal.

Eh, just start off slow. Walking on treadmill or do eliptical. No need to push it starting out.

Yeah, I don't know if its Disney or of LFL is just tightening the reigns. I know LFL has it so SS can't make a short character, like Yoda, by itself. I'm guess there are all kinds of stipulations in the contracts.

For the record, the only Marvel movies I've seen in the theater are the 2 Avengers movies. :D

It's unfortunate, I agree. The main reason why I'm sticking with PF's for the most part.
I owned that Attakus Vader, both actually, once, and yeah, the PF is far better. I'll give the Attakus Vader 1 points for the pose, but the hands and especially boots are way too big. Looks like monkey arms and clown shoes, LOL! Not to mention that the mixed media used on the PF makes everything more sharp and realistic.
Deal! :D

YES! Awesome pic! Damn! I should have done something like that. I didn't even wear my Star Wars T to Avengers 2, LOL!

FYI, my kid and I run around outside in the evening now and then with Jedi/ Sith robes on swinging our FX lightsabers. :D

Exactly! No need to buy direct. Plenty of dealers out there looking to sell their stuff at big discounts sometimes.

Thanks, the shirt coordination was pretty much all my doing if you couldn't guess, ha. Yeah Sideshow is going to hose us with the rest of the JLA members, I'm guessing right now they are wishing they had waited on the big three so they could have charged $600 a piece for them. I wonder if they are going to make anymore life size busts, it's been a long while since the Green Lantern went up for sale. I'd like to know if they're not because then I would sell my Batman one since he's not one of my favorite characters.

Oh man, I'm going to have to get on your case for not going to Marvel movies as well! :p It's funny you mention wearing a Star Wars shirt to the movie because I saw someone with a Superman shirt and was slightly annoyed. Apparently I'm so nerdy that I get worked up when people mix up Marvel and DC, ha. I corrected someone at work the other day for mixing up Disney and Dreamworks and some of my coworkers started teasing me for being too much of a nerd. Someone said "Star Wars, Star Trek, what's the difference?" To which I replied "If you think Star Trek is the same as Star Wars, I will cut you." (jokingly of course)

That's awesome you and your kid have lightsaber duels! Are you going to dress up for the Star Wars movie? Do you have any other costumes besides Jedi robes?

I do actually like the pose of both Attakus Vaders, but its the lack of the mixed media that gets me. I just love the real clothing on SS's pieces so much that it can really make the piece for me. A lot of people don't really like to see the plainer museum poses like Attakus did, but I do like them on occasion if it fits the character. And poses like that do fit Vader quite well. I should really be less harsh on the Attakus, but its the lack of the mixed media that brings it down for me and the prices on both of them in the market right now. But after all this time kicking it back and forth as of now I'm planning to get the old Vader PF instead of the new one. I think the pose is a little weak, but it really fits his ANH mannerisms IMO. I would normally pick the ROTJ one easily because its my favorite of his outfits, but it has the same Captain Morgan style pose as my Keaton PF. I think one of those is enough. I could change my mind a hundred times by the time it ships though LMAO!

Do the neighbors ever say anything when they see you guys out there playing Jedi? Or do they just shake their heads and continue to drive by LOL! ;)

Ha! I knew you were the one who came up with the whole coordinating shirts thing :D.

It seems SS is really shafting the life sized bust collecting crowd in all of their licenses. I don't know if those things are selling as well as they hoped or what. But regardless I think SS may have just bitten off more licenses than they can chew and they just don't have enough employees or resources to crank out all of the lines that they used to. It really seems they only care about sixth scale stuff and PFs. The good news is if you decide to sell your life sized Batman bust you can get a lot for it on eBay.

No, just a couple of cheap robes I got off ThinkGeek a while back. I kinda want to this time, but not all of my family would dress up, and we are all going, so it'd be kinda weird with just a couple of us decked out.

LOL! Then you'll be proud of me, even with my lack of comic knowledge, for teaching my girls early on the difference between Marvel and DC characters. ;) I don't get worked up about it though. We are all nerds afterall. I will admit there have been a couple times where I've put my head in my hands shaking it because one of my wifes friends husbands realize I'm a SW fan, and they try and quote lines from the movie but butchering it all up. Thank God for my wife because she's the one who will say, "Yeah, you might want to stop that." LOL!

So, it's not just the SW collectors, it's all across the board, huh?

No, they never say anything. Usually the kids around will run up and watch. My 14yr old is good with weapons from classes shes taken, so she's really fun to watch.

I have no doubt that you'll love that Vader PF (the 1st one). The tailoring is still among the best even all these years later.

BTW, you guys see these?

SO MUCH YES!

Whoa! the SW Underoos are cool but are even too nerdy for me. If you are planning on getting those Lou, trust us we don't need to see pics of you sportin' those LMAO!

I can definitely imagine your wife's friends getting under your skin by misquoting SW lines. But hopefully they don't go as bad as giving you the Spock sign and tell you to live long and prosper lol.

Yeah, I think SS is pretty much shafting all licenses when it comes to busts and dios. But I still think they are shafting the SW collectors the most. Their sixth scale SW stuff is really the only consistent SW items they are cranking out. The upcoming McQ line is kind of exciting, but I have a feeling its not going to sell nearly as well as the Mythos line. And it will just be more time wasted when they could have cranked out some more SW PFs instead.

By the way guys I just got out from seeing Age of Ultron. I freaking loved it! But I just don't know if I liked it better than the first one yet. I think I'll have to watch it a few times to see how it grows on me and then I will find out where it ranks in with my favorite all-time Marvel films. But I do know its going to be way up there. James Spader as the voice of Ultron was even more awesome than I thought he would be. And Stan Lee's cameo with his trademark phrase "excelsior" was definitely one of my favorites ever.

Nice! Agreed on Stan Lee's cameo, LOL! Man, I can't wait to get this home on BD.

I guess their 1/6 line is doing very well since they seem to crank those out the most, but I'll still wait on HT for TFA figures, and go that route. As good as some of Sideshows sculpts have been for their 1/6 line, IMO, they still can't touch HT. I may also be in the minority, but I think the McQ line is a waste of time. My conspiracy mind thinks they may be purposly starving us collectors in order to make that line do well.

Please! You know I'm totally throwing up pics when I get'em, LOL!

LOL! Oh no my eyes!

Avengers 2 will definitely be a day one BD purchase for me. I can't wait!

HT definitely still has the best likeness rights. Thats a good theory about the McQ stuff. I do think they will look great and be really cool, but there is no way I'd throw what SS is going to be asking for those on versions of characters that only absolute die hard SW fans would be familiar with.
