I think this looks f'ing badass!!!! But, I'm moving away from this type of statue. Saw that Jango is up too. I want him bad, but SS seemed to take the lazy approach to this almost mirroring Boba. Sadly, I'll be passing on both.

You don't think he looks a little odd from the waste down? He does have an evil look to him that I like. I know Josh pointed this out earlier, but it's kind of funny that every bad guy is either all white or all black. Maybe that's why I like the colored clone troopers from the prequels.

I ordered Jango.

I know what you mean, but I think we are going to keep seeing more and more of these pieces walking up or down on elevated bases, or doing a captain morgan on top of one. Its happened enough where I'm already getting sick of seeing it, but they keep cranking them out this way.

Congrats!

Luckily Jango and Boba offer lots of color, so they will really stand out in a SW collection that has either a lot of black or white. I love the colored clones too.

What? Sideshow NEVER uses the Captain Morgan pose...looks over at DC statues...okay never mind.

That Death Star Trooper looks so weird from angles other than straight on. Here is the Hot Toys version, couldn't Sideshow have just made him in a normal standing pose like this? It's simple, but still badass. Plus they could always put one of his legs up if it makes them feel better. :)

LMAO! Its almost to a point where they are competing for who can come up with the most ridiculous pose.

The Death Trooper's armor is very busy, and they are played by huge ass actors. That makes them look weird from some angles. I would almost kill for SS to go back to the simple poses they used to have, that pic of the Death Trooper there would be perfect for so many characters. Attakus and Gentle Giant were both able to keep the poses simple, and keep their feet flat with a nice simple flat base. Sideshow figures the only way to make a character interesting is by having them climb something.

It's quite comical really! Of course look what happens when they don't use that pose, they come up with Supergirl's pose...

Did you see they confirmed that Maul's saber lights up now? Hopefully Kylo is next.

Awesome! Congrats man. That's going to display well with you Boba.

Yeah, a little. But, I love the design of these guys. Didn't at first, but they definitely grew on me. I also prefer the look of the Clones. And, if I'm selling those, I sure as hell ain't adding other troopers to the collection. Clones first! LOL!

Can you imagine what the coversation must be like at SS when deciding on a pose? "Hmm, we need something. Something that says, action!" Other person, "I know, lets make it looks like it's ice skating!" Sideshow design team erupts with applause, and they all start sniffing each others farts.

I like this post far better. This is 1/6 I take it?

Good news! But, again, I don't use the feature enough.

Thats good news. I hope they add it to Kylo too.

Oh man, that Supergirl pose has to be one of their worst.

I keep looking at Jango and he's really growing on me. I'm now almost at a point of looking at where I can put it :ohno:.

:rofl::rofl::rofl: Thats so ******* funny!

In some of those behind the scenes videos of theirs they show some of them making ridiculous poses in front of mirrors trying to decide on poses for the statues. I can't believe no one stops them to tell them they look ridiculous.

Don't know if you guys saw yet but XM posted the prices for their Star Wars stuff at upcoming STGCC (still no pics though):

Vader set: $1621
Darth Maul: $730
Luke and Yoda: $730
Luke: $656
General Grevious: $1106

This is just a simple SGD to USD conversion, and obviously doesn't factor in any markup that US retailers will no doubt add.

Here is a list to all the stuff they will have up for order at the Con: http://www.xm-studios.com/xm-at-stgcc-2016-–-what-to-expect.aspx

Ha! That's hilarious! I would love to sit in on a Sideshow meeting to hear all the insanity. I have a feeling I would be shaking my head the entire time (at both their pose ideas and their reasoning for the price hikes).

Yeah that is the 1/6 scale Hot Toys Death Star Trooper. Like I said, Sideshow should really look at more simple poses like that!

That's what happened to me! I wasn't really interested in Jango when they first announced him, but the more I looked at it the more I wanted it! You should definitely find the space...

So basically add $300-$400 onto all those prices. Heck it costs about $200 just to ship one of those beasts over here. I'm sure the shipping on the Vader set will be astronomical. Plus the $100-200 markup. I'm very intrigued by the last three on that list though. I'm most curious to see if XM can do an actual actor's sculpt.

I'm close to pulling the trigger on Jango, but I'm still not 100% there yet. The more I look at it the more I like it. I'm just having a bit of a problem with how much more attention he will get than other much more important characters due to his size. Maybe its just me but I feel that Vader should be the center of attention, and the new Vader's size and pose are completely out for me so I'll still be sticking with the smaller original one and Jango would make that Vader look so small. If I get Jango I may display him out of the bestas, away from the other characters.

I'm hoping the markup is only $100-$200. If the markup ends up being $3K on some of them like Magneto thats really going to suck.I don't think thats going to happen, but if these really turn out awesome there is really no knowing how high these prices could get. The one I'm really interested in is Grievous because that price is insane! I'm wondering what they are doing with him thats going to make him cost so much.

That makes sense, it would look funny having Jango be the centerpiece of a Star Wars display, ha.

Who knows if there's any reason for Grievous being that much. I saw their Optimus Prime is like $1300. I would really love an Optimus statue and there are three companies currently making G1 statues, unfortunately the cheapest option is the Prime 1 version at $1000!!

Someone FINALLY posted pictures of their Vader PF with his head posed the correct way (looking to his left). Every picture I've seen has had him looking straight forward and the pictures are straight on making him look ridiculous. This looks a LOT better:

He does look the best there I've yet to see. But I still absolutely hate the base. Its just so busy and pointlessly huge. And I still think the pose looks extremely awkward, and I hate how he's staring up in the air. After he already climbed up on top of that gargantuan thing what the hell could he possibly be looking up at lol. He does at least look better turning his head to the left, and the details on the outfit look top-notch. But this piece just isn't for me.

I wish someone made a cheaper Optimus statue for you. I know I'd really have to love a character if I was going to commit a grand or more to one piece.

That is the best angle to display him, but unfortunately it's still a pass for me as well. If he could look down and to the left I probably would have bit. These are the pictures I keep seeing:

He looks so stupid right there. Almost like a baby bird with it's head up for food. Or like he's supposed to be Jesus with his arms out looking up. Either way it's a disaster. Waiting on the Hot Toys one...of course I'll still have to figure out how to display him so he doesn't look like a doll!

Yeah the Transformers prices are disappointing. I do still have my Masterpiece Optimus figure at least. I was collecting the entire MP line, but got tired of paying $60-70 for the smaller figures like Bumblebee.

He looks really stupid there. The awkwardness really shines in that picture. People complain about the original's boring pose, but at least it doesn't look that bad.

The HT will look great, just google Vader pictures and keep it simple like something similar to this:

SWS01.png

I know what you mean about the cheaper figures, but there is a part of me that wishes I would have just stuck with something similar to that. Its a lot easier to adjust to a $5 price increase when those things decide to go up in price instead of a PF which can jump from $20 - $100+ in between waiting for the next PF I want. I can't believe I talked myself into the prices I've already spent on these stupid things LOL.

The hands on the belt pose it is. Are Hot Toys ever going to sell their 1/4 scale Vader or stormtrooper? Seems like they've been in development for a long ass time. I guess the longer they wait, the more they can charge.

I have a friend who lives in another town who collects the 1/10 scale Koto Star Wars statues. He was in awe when I saw my statues, he hadn't realized just how huge they were compared to the ones he collects. As cool as the cheaper figures are, they just don't compare to a two foot tall statue!

I threw my 1/6 Sideshow Commander Cody up on ebay on Sunday. I listed it at $100 hoping I would get the $140 back that I paid for it. It's already bid up to $229...apparently it's a sought after figure, who knew. I've had it sitting in a box for two years, ha.

HT can be as bad or even worse than SS when it comes to actually releasing their product, especially in 1:4. They teased a 1:4 Arnie Terminator from T1 back in 2012 and there still is no sign of that coming any time soon. That should help you feel really assured that Vader must be right around the corner . But on a positive note HT has gotten more 1:6 SW stuff out in the first year than I thought would even be possible. So maybe they won't be quite that slow with their 1:4 SW stuff.

I used to have the Koto Jango. I was pretty happy with the paint details on that little thing. When I first found SS's website I was looking at HTs for quite awhile but then I took the time to actually look at a PF after wondering for months why they were $200 more than HTs and actually saw how big they were lol. Nothing really could prepare me for the sheer size of these things back when I got my first one a couple of years ago. I think a lot of people have that initial shock reaction when they first see the size of these things.

Nice! Its always awesome when something sells for a lot more than what you hope for. Do you have anything planned for what you might replace it with or is it just going towards stuff you already ordered?

I actually need some money to put in new flooring and buy some more display cabinets. I was also eying one of those 4K TVs! I'm looking at a 65" Samsung right now. I bought my 52" quite a while ago when the hi def TVs were just taking off so it doesn't even have internet capabilities. Although I'm thinking maybe I should wait on the 4K until they have all the kinks ironed out. Decisions decisions. So nothing collecting wise.

What was your first PF? (we might have had this conversation before) Mine was actually Joker. I couldn't believe the size and details of it and immediately had to put it on my TV speaker so I could look at it all the time. I think I got the Batman bust shortly after that (which was another level of impressive). I then immediately pre-ordered the Green Lantern EX. I discovered the Freaks forums a few weeks later and saw everyone ripping on how terrible that GL was then I remember everyone wanting it after it came out. I already had a few Hot Toys before ordering the Joker so I was aware of Sideshow's site.

I want to get a 4K TV too. I think I'm still going to wait a couple more years though. I actually went and jumped in on the 3D TV craze a few years ago so my HDTV has a lot of the current functions and internet stuff so I definitely don't need a new TV, but I've noticed the 4K TVs prices have really plummeted already over the last 2 years so I think once enough 4K movies come out that I want I'll probably jump in. If I don't have one by the time Star Wars comes out in 4k I'll definitely get one lol.

I still like that first GL PF, even though its smaller than most of their current DC PFs.

The first PF I ordered was the Keaton Batman PF and I ordered him the first day he went up, but then a few days later I randomly went on SS's Twitter page (I don't even have a Twitter account lol) just to check it out and they had just posted that they were going to reopen the waitlist for the comic Batman EX and that they'd have 5 available so I jumped on the WL right when it opened back up and it converted a couple of days later and I had the comic Batman delivered a couple of weeks later. I was totally blown away by the piece and I wasn't originally even 100% planning to ever get because the EX wasn't available. But now all that comic Batman stuff has been gone for over a year lol.

I still need to get one of their life size busts. I was thinking about Vader but I think I'd just rather save $500 - $700 and get an Anovos or EFX replica helmet and put it on a stand. I don't think I really have the room for a full bust.

Yeah I feel like I always buy TVs when they first come out and spend quite a bit of money. The one I'm looking at now is $1800. I've heard the 4K blu-ray players are like $400 though. Yuck. I remember the 3D TV craze, there was even talks of TV stations televising in 3D. That sort of died out, ha ha.

Wow, I didn't realize you had the Batman EX. That was sold out already way back when I bought my Joker (which was also a regular). I'm still sad you don't have your Batman PFs.

Life size busts are pretty dang cool, but mine have been boxed for a year now. That Vader one looks bigger than the ones I have and it's also quite amazing. Were you looking at getting a Vader helmet from Anovos if you don't get the bust? Or did you have another character in mind?

So I just spent some of the paypal money I had from selling a figure on the Captain America: Civil War steelbook from Best Buy.

That 4K blu-ray player is a bit steeper than I thought it would be. I remember when 4K first came out they only had the 4K player that would download movies and that thing was a grand. They originally thought 4K wouldn't even be available on disc but that changed quickly. I still really love 3D (I'm one of the few lol) but even though it didn't quite pan out to be the massive thing all these studios were predicting, I'm still glad almost all of the recent Marvel and DC movies are out in 3D.

I'm not really that sad about selling them. With their big bases I just couldn't display them with doors how I wanted, and I love the SW characters more anyways. I do miss my Harley PF a little though lol.

If I get a helmet it will either be Vader or Boba. For some reason the Master Replicas Boba helmet is my all-time favorite replica helmet anyone has ever made. EFX supposedly has one coming out but they are the worst ever. I complain a lot about SS not being able to deliver on time, but EFX is so much worse. I think Anovos was going to make a Boba too but no sign of that one either. If neither I might go with EFX's ANH Vader that they have out now.

Nice pickup! I just realized, is that coming out next week already?
