There he is!

Civil War is an awesome movie! I don't think I'll be getting mine in before release date though so it'll be at least a few days before I get to see it again.

So I missed this on forums yesterday, but they actually increased the price on Grievous to $1500 USD before markup. He's definitely a very detailed character, I hope this will be worth it.

This is what I've seen posted so far about the XM stuff:



I want to see these so bad, but I have a feeling we'll be waiting another year before we get to see them. The one thing I know is from now on when STGCC is coming up I won't be getting my hopes up to see any SW stuff.

No doubt! What a let down man. Do they do this with their Marvel stuff too?

So, Grievous is going to be massive. Maul is going to be huge, and I'm going to be out of money, LOL! Not good to hear the underwhelming part about Vader. Wonder what exactly is underwhelming about it.

I've seen 3 times and love it. But, the last 2 times have been in the bedroom while I'm going to sleep, LOL!

How did you get your Civil War early? I'm not getting mine until release day.



I read that post, that Grievous sounds insane. What do you think of that Maul description? I would really like to know about the likeness on the Lukes. That's what's really important for me. I'm hoping they can nail the sculpts to replace those older SW PFs that aren't quite as good. Or HTs will just make everything in 1/4 scale..

So apparently my car needs another $600 in repairs. Guess I know what I'm spending the money on when I sell my figures. Sigh.

A friend of mine runs a shop in Seattle that sells BD's. Not too often he gets his stuff super early, but when he does, he lets me know.

There is no winning with cars. You can buy a new car but then you have car payments, or you can keep your old car and then you have repair bills. It sucks either way.

I saw the Jim Lee Supes thread over at the Freaks board. Jim Lee is probably my favorite comic book artist of all-time.I figured there would be a good chance you might get this. I know they are doing a Jim Lee Batman too. I'm hoping they are doing statue versions of his matching comic covers:

That would be the most epic comic display of all-time.

I'm really afraid that XM's face sculpts might end up cartoony too. I did hear the Luke/Yoda statue is going to be Luke doing a hand stand with Yoda up on top of his foot and I heard the Luke in pilot gear is actually from the Snowspeeder but it sounds like people were kind of underwhelmed with that one. The Maul sounds like it will be pretty extreme, and Grievous's base sounds like its going to be gigantic and its supposed to have that giant wheeled thing he was riding around on Utapau on it. We probably won't see pics of any of this stuff for at least another year.

Yeah hopefully after these fixes my car doesn't have anymore problems for a while. I might make it a goal to get a new car in two years so I have time to save up some money.

I don't imagine they will do those poses since DC Comics made those exact statues a while back. Granted the updated versions would be bigger and much better quality. We shall see.

I keep reading posts and it sounds like people are underwhelmed with all of the XM pieces, ha ha. Just differing opinions I guess. So someone was talking about Sideshow DC statues on another board (in a XM thread) and someone ominously posted "Better sell all of those before 2017 gets here. That's all I can say on the subject." I wonder if XM is going to have the DC license come 2017? IF that's true that would be amazing considering the pace XM puts out their Marvel statues which means they'd actually get to minor characters I want sooner. Of course I couldn't afford most of them, ha. I would definitely try to get my hands on whatever Superman they made though.

Heck no XM never does this with the Marvel stuff! They show everything in the process of making them, that's why this whole Star Wars debacle is so confusing!

Yeah I'm definitely intrigued by the Dagobah Luke, sounds like a cool concept.

No complaints, about to have the last of the pink carpet torn out and replaced. Some old lady lived here before and she seriously had the entire upstairs decorated in pink carpet and flower trimming on the windows. I got rid of most of it the week I moved in, but there's still pink carpet in the office upstairs. It's gone on Friday!

I'm not so sure why people are finding the Vader part of the dio underwhelming, but it seems like quite a few of these pieces are receiving mixed opinions. But just reading people's opinions doesn't really cut it without actually being able to see what people are talking about. I'm just super pissed we waited a whole year and then they pulled the exact same thing as last year.

The Dogobah Luke sounds kind of interesting. One thing I'll say for sure is XM isn't afraid to go all out on their poses.

XM has those Knight of the Rising Sun statues coming out. I don't know if thats what people are referring to or not as those are DC characters. Its an interesting concept with lots of details, but they are nothing I'd ever want to own. Maybe XM is going to do DC comic stuff eventually too, but I'm sure that SS will still make 1:4 DC stuff too, so there would be no need for people to sell their SS stuff.

I was looking at their Lizard some more, that really is a beautiful statue. They need to make a Bullseye ASAP! What did you think of their Kingpin?

Sideshow really has been overdoing it with their bases lately. They need to cut those things in half!

I'm pretty sure some of the problems with that Vader statue are that people don't want anything to do with Anakin (especially little Ani). Although I saw one person say that the Vader was the most disappointing part of the statue so who knows. I wish they'd just show us!

By the way, are you a member of the Statue Collectors Buy/Sell/Trade page on facebook? I highly recommend joining it if you ever want any XM pieces.

The Lizard is absolutely my favorite piece that was revealed at the Con. I never really found anything that visually engaging from Kingpin's design from the comics so the XM piece doesn't do anything for me. But he is sitting so that should make the piece 4 times more valuable than the rest of them .

I think a lot of the on-screen-only SW costume enthusiasts are probably the people that are having problems with Vader. Whenever a new Vader thing comes out they are always the first to come out and scrutinize all of the inaccuracies in the outfit. They are usually the same way with Stormtrooper and Boba Fett pieces too.

Oh man, most of them would be out of my price range as well...but there's no way I could pass on Booster Gold, Blue Beetle, Shazam, Black Adam, Captain Cold, Brainiac, Doomsday, or Hawkman. Okay there are more that would be hard to pass on, but those are the pieces I really want in my collection. I would probably sell my Batgirl, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman if any of those pieces are made. I'm not a huge fan of Harley Quinn either, but I think her and that Joker statue pair up nicely. All of the Sideshow DC poses are so boring compared to XM's Marvel stuff. The lone exception being the first Green Lantern they made and they screwed up the size on that one! Although I do think XM dropped the ball on that Elektra pose, not sure what they were thinking there.

Oh yeah Kingpin is going to be worth tons of money since he's sitting, ha ha. Same with Punisher and Ghost Rider! I'm still trying to find someone who can secure me a Punisher PO. Not sure if you saw that edit I made in my last post, but you should join the Statue Buy/Sell/Trade page on Facebook if you're not already on there. Yeah I usually ignore the criticism if it's because the outfits aren't technically perfect because I can't tell the difference. A stormtrooper is a stormtrooper and Vader if Vader.

This statue collecting thing is addicting and scary at times. I guess I'm weird because I usually prefer the more boring museum like poses over the extreme action poses usually. Yeah I don't understand all the nitpicking on those things. I can see it if you're going to spend a ton of money on a replica costume, but on 1/4 scale statues it's just not that big of a deal. Besides who actually spends the time to study the costumes so much that they know every detail. That's a level of fandom I'm never going to reach, ha ha.

Ha ha! I think I can be pretty nerdy at times, but those that memorize every detail of the costumes are on a level of nerdiness beyond me lol. I can spot the ANH and ROTS Vader outfits pretty easy, but I've never even noticed any differences in the OT Stormtrooper outfits but the online nerds would tell me I must be blind to not see the glaring differences.

Well DC is doing a Booster Gold movie supposedly so maybe that will springboard him to super popularity and everyone will start making collectibles of him.

If I reopen Facebook thats probably the only thing I would do too.

So Cheetah went up for sale today, thankfully the DC PFs are still in the $450 range (never thought I'd be thankful about that). They posted this picture on the product page, how can they not see how ridiculous all the similar leg up poses look together?

They must all be very proud of these poses because they just keep making them, or they are completely blind and don't realize they are all the same pose. And the people keep buying them so thats not helping either lol.

I'm wondering if DC is clamping down on SS price gouging their pieces. Although I still can't see how Darkseid is $600 (and that has the stupid leg up pose too ). DC needs to grow some balls and say no to SS when they bring one of those ridiculous things in for approval next time.

Ha! I'm kind of surprised you haven't sold them by now. Guess that means deep down you know you want to be a Batman fanboy . Go ahead, you can freely admit he's cooler than Superman now . That Cheetah does look pretty cool, pose and base aren't bad at all. I actually liked Huntress too quite a bit. If I was still collecting the Batman comic stuff I probably would have prioritized her over both Killer Croc and Bane.

I do like quite a few of the XM Spider-Man villains, but I'm definitely not collecting down that route. I'm interested in seeing what their DC comic stuff looks like if they do get the license, but at $1K+ per piece I don't see myself getting into those. I'm still really upset no new SW pics came out. I know people are saying thats Disney's fault, but other companies are able to release work in progress pictures and XM can't. So I'm going to continue to blame XM . That Doc Ock does look pretty cool too. I wonder how long it will be before SS makes one. I'm sure if they make one he and his tentacles will probably be doing a Captain Morgan pose anyways .

And it took nearly a year to see Boba after XM's first fiasco last year. I would have figured by now the rest of them that were as far along as Boba was back then would have been shown too. Whats it going to take to get a pic of that Vader dio.

And it took nearly a year to see Boba after XM's first fiasco last year. I would have figured by now the rest of them that were as far along as Boba was back then would have been shown too. Whats it going to take to get a pic of that Vader dio.

It's crazy, but Sideshow has had the Marvel license for probably a decade and they've never made any of the following characters in premium format form that I know of: Magneto, any of the Sinister Six, or Kingpin just to name a few. Kind of insane really.

Yeah hopefully after these fixes my car doesn't have anymore problems for a while. I might make it a goal to get a new car in two years so I have time to save up some money.

I don't imagine they will do those poses since DC Comics made those exact statues a while back. Granted the updated versions would be bigger and much better quality. We shall see.

I keep reading posts and it sounds like people are underwhelmed with all of the XM pieces, ha ha. Just differing opinions I guess. So someone was talking about Sideshow DC statues on another board (in a XM thread) and someone ominously posted "Better sell all of those before 2017 gets here. That's all I can say on the subject." I wonder if XM is going to have the DC license come 2017? IF that's true that would be amazing considering the pace XM puts out their Marvel statues which means they'd actually get to minor characters I want sooner. Of course I couldn't afford most of them, ha. I would definitely try to get my hands on whatever Superman they made though.



Heck no XM never does this with the Marvel stuff! They show everything in the process of making them, that's why this whole Star Wars debacle is so confusing!

Yeah I'm definitely intrigued by the Dagobah Luke, sounds like a cool concept.

No complaints, about to have the last of the pink carpet torn out and replaced. Some old lady lived here before and she seriously had the entire upstairs decorated in pink carpet and flower trimming on the windows. I got rid of most of it the week I moved in, but there's still pink carpet in the office upstairs. It's gone on Friday!

It's kinda funny because there was a lot of people unimpressed with SS when they first started too. If Vader, Maul, and Grievous are anything like their Boba, they'll be amazing.

I'm not so sure why people are finding the Vader part of the dio underwhelming, but it seems like quite a few of these pieces are receiving mixed opinions. But just reading people's opinions doesn't really cut it without actually being able to see what people are talking about. I'm just super pissed we waited a whole year and then they pulled the exact same thing as last year.

The Dogobah Luke sounds kind of interesting. One thing I'll say for sure is XM isn't afraid to go all out on their poses.



I remember the small ones that DC did awhile back but I was hoping some company like SS or Prime 1 would come along and really do those iconic drawings justice in statue form, those little ones just don't cut it.

I keep reading that too, I think the extreme poses are putting some people off. Its hard to tell exactly what people are looking for. I think some are simply looking for a different option other than SS, maybe looking for a fully sculpted piece instead of a mixed media piece, while some are probably looking for something completely different like they've never seen before with the SW characters. Well at least XM hasn't made all of their new statues climb up on top of some weird giant object .

XM has those Knight of the Rising Sun statues coming out. I don't know if thats what people are referring to or not as those are DC characters. Its an interesting concept with lots of details, but they are nothing I'd ever want to own. Maybe XM is going to do DC comic stuff eventually too, but I'm sure that SS will still make 1:4 DC stuff too, so there would be no need for people to sell their SS stuff.

That said, having seen XM and IR's work on other stuff, I'm excited to see what they'll bring to SW.

That guy was definitely hinting at a regular DC Comics license. Just looking at how amazing some of those Marvel statues are...I would be broke if XM did DC! I was looking at their Lizard some more, that really is a beautiful statue. They need to make a Bullseye ASAP! What did you think of their Kingpin?

Sideshow really has been overdoing it with their bases lately. They need to cut those things in half!

I'm pretty sure some of the problems with that Vader statue are that people don't want anything to do with Anakin (especially little Ani). Although I saw one person say that the Vader was the most disappointing part of the statue so who knows. I wish they'd just show us!

By the way, are you a member of the Statue Collectors Buy/Sell/Trade page on facebook? I highly recommend joining it if you ever want any XM pieces.

I don't mind large bases. What the problems is with SS is that they make a big base and throw a statue on top of it. It works for some like Savage and the new Boba, but not so much for others like the new Jango. I look at what XM did with their Boba base and think they are far more creative.

Well I hope they do get the DC license as I would love to see SS have some competition. These would more than likely be out of my price range though, but I could always enjoy them through your pics while you make yourself go broke buying them lol. Just make sure you buy their Batman .

The Lizard is absolutely my favorite piece that was revealed at the Con. I never really found anything that visually engaging from Kingpin's design from the comics so the XM piece doesn't do anything for me. But he is sitting so that should make the piece 4 times more valuable than the rest of them .

I agree, if SS cut their gigantic bases in half that would pretty much end my complaining about that. But if they still all had the one leg up pose I'd definitely still complain.

I think a lot of the on-screen-only SW costume enthusiasts are probably the people that are having problems with Vader. Whenever a new Vader thing comes out they are always the first to come out and scrutinize all of the inaccuracies in the outfit. They are usually the same way with Stormtrooper and Boba Fett pieces too.

I bet that has alot to do with it. How many times was the same thing said when the first SS Vader came out. Or when the first Boba came out. Too nit picky, IMO. We aren't talking about a glaring issue like the fingers shortened on the Aurra Sing PF or the missing hilt on the Kenobi Mythos, we are talking millionths of an inch on a helmet FFS!

Thats weird. I know there are a bunch of X-Men people have been waiting on for a long time too. I hope they don't do this with their DC stuff. They already kind of are by doing all of these variants and one-off comic and movie versions of the characters instead of finishing out the main comic line they started. I really don't think they should have gone out and done Red Son stuff before even finishing the classic Justice League comic characters.

I can't tell if those were the same ones that were leaked last year or not. Vader looks like Vader there so if thats what people are seeing I'm not so sure what all the complaining is about. I definitely need to see more of the Christensen and Lloyd sculpts to judge if they are good or not. Sculpts of actual actor likenesses is by far the biggest thing I'm most concerned with XM.

I'm glad I missed all of that complaining when the SW PFs first came out. These statues look exactly how I see these characters in my head so they are pretty much perfection for me. The poses sometimes piss me off though lol.

That will be really cool to have something so different in your collection. The super dynamic bases and features will most likely make these all stand way out from the rest of your older stuff.

I still want to see the bases and poses of the Vader dio. The closeups of the heads just isn't enough for me.
