Lol! That's so true. I shouldn't be complaining as it's still a deal compared to singular acrylic cases.

That might not be a bad idea. At least that way you wouldn't have to buy stuff you don't need. Can you stack single cubes on top of each other?

I'm seriously thinking about just saying eff the doors on all my bestas. Its not going to be too long before none of ss's pfs fit in a single cube perfectly anyways. I'm thinking about Ep VII PFs and those things will probably be like 25" or taller by that time with the way SS keeps blowing the size up on these things. Its pointless to spend all this money on doors when half of the stuff won't fit or look good with them. I think we can kiss the hope of a full length door goodbye now. I can just dust more frequently and save myself hundreds if dollars on doors.

That's it! I knew it! It's a conspiracy! They are in cahoots! LOL!

I did, and he is looking awesome. Their SW sixth scale has really made a massive improvement over the last couple of years.

I'd love to see a new Jedi Knight ROTJ Luke PF. That is my favorite outfit. A lot of people didn't like the first one but I thought it looked great. But I don't have it.

That's my favorite Luke outfit too. I have the statue and really like it.

It almost sucks that the 1/6 line looks so good because I'm really tempted to switch lines. There are so many more figures that I know will never be made in 1/4 scale. Plus you can get two 1/6 figures for the price of a PF. Display cases would also be cheaper. Only problem is I prefer statues.

I'm with you on skipping the doors, but I know I'm way too lazy to dust all the time. I hardly ever do it now!

I need to rant about Darkseid, I thought he would be close to 30", there is nothing justifying that $600 price tag! Vader is half an inch taller, a more complex sculpt and base, has light up features, and is $100 cheaper.

I prefer statues too especially in quarter scale. But these super huge bases are ridiculous. I really like how the vast majority of Lou's SW PFs all relatively have the same sized base. And are mostly all under 24".

I have an alarm set on my phone for every Saturday reminding me to dust the statues. Its works out pretty well. With the money I spend on these things I just had to find a way to remind myself to dust them every week. Never had a dust build up issue yet. :)

I have no idea why he is $600. It freaking nuts. But not only will the 30" height be a pain in the ass to fit in a Besta, they have his arm extended forward which makes him 20" deep which would means he will hang over the edge of the Besta by quite a bit. And he would still be too deep even for an Ikea Stuva. There is no way to win anymore with Sideshow's extreme sized PFs. I might have to look into moving into sixth scale stuff if this extreme sizing keeps up. :(

He's not 30 inches, he's only 26 which is why I don't get why he costs that much. Look at this picture and compare his size to Apocalypse and explain to me how those cost the same amount! They completely dropped the ball on his size, but are still charging like he's an over sized statue. Unfortunately they have me by the balls because I really want him and there's no other companies out there. Sigh.

I meant to put 26" when I just read it on the product page thinking how small it was for the price but then I saw a 30 in your post and I put 30". It's been a long day lol. He should be at least 30" at that price. I even think Apocalypse is overpriced at $600. It's just polystone like all their other pieces. I can't figure out SS's pricing strategy. I'm assuming they think they have everyone by the balls who has Supes already and they'll order him no matter how much they charge. If they would have waited to do Joker after they did Batman they could have probably done the same thing. If Darkseid was first before Supes he would probably have been $400.

Ha, no worries. Some days get to you! I think for now I'm passing on Darkseid...not sure if I'm going to order him at all unfortunately unless he goes on sale in the future. Don't feel like getting bent over by SS on this one. Considering he's supposed to be almost 9 feet tall, they basically made a 1/5 comiquette and are trying to pass it off as an over sized 1/4 PF.

Back to the Besta doors, I wonder how much it would cost to get full sized doors made. Has to be cheaper than the cost of putting together a PAX system.

I can't say I blame you for passing with this ridiculous price tag. If he is one of your favorite characters I hope you can find a deal later on down the road. But the really bad news is if Darkseid is going to be $600 that probably means Doomsday will be $600 as well, and if they do Lex in his warsuit that could be another $600. I'm just speculating on these prices but they wouldn't surprise me. And I also agree this piece should really be a lot bigger than its 26" size for being a supposed quarter scale piece. It should really be like 30" not even counting the base.

There was a member on the Freaks board that made a custom full length glass door out of a full length wood one. He had someone cut the middle out and he fit glass in it somehow and it looked really awesome when it was done. But Ikea isn't making full length wood ones anymore I don't think, so I don't even know if thats going to be an option. Another possible option is to cut a piece of acrylic the size of the besta and either somehow attach it with hinges, or put holes in it and screw it onto the frame. But the price gets insane here, and if you have to have it shipped to you then you can tack on another hundred or more. I've also seen someone cut glass to fit along the inside of the frame and they attached clips somehow to keep it from falling out. I'd go on the Freaks board and look through the Besta idea thread, and the how to display your collectibles threads and see if you can find any concrete info on how anyone does these things or how much they cost. I'm not so certain it would be cheaper than buying a PAX especially if you have to custom make a bunch of doors.

Actually I just remembered Mike made a post back on the old forum about Lowes or Home Depot being pretty reasonable with custom cut acrylic sheets. Maybe you could get that done for $100 or so per besta? I'm still not sure how to attach the hinges to it, maybe they could help you out with that, but I'm not so sure if thats going to be really good at keeping dust out. I think you could just put little holes around the sides and screw it down right onto the frame, but then it would be a pain in the ass if you wanted to move stuff in there. But I would think that would do a great job of keeping dust out if you could create a really tight seal.

Wow, that is lame! IKEA and Sideshow are in cahoots with their price raising, ha.

Did either of you see the video review for the 1/6 scale Hoth Luke? I'm so tempted seeing as he's my favorite character.

I wouldn't doubt it! LOL!

Yeah, you can stack them up to 3 high before it becomes unstable. I figure I'll go 2 high, and just stack statues on top of that.
Even Savage looks odd sitting inside a Besta cube because of the large base. It fits, just oddly.

Is Savage's base the tallest you have so far?

I think so. The statue is just so large that it doesn't sit right inside the besta cube. The outstretched arm behind the statue makes it so that it can't be faced forward correctly. So, it is kinda at an angle for now. I seriously need to get crackin' on some acrylic cases for the larger stuff before Q4 rolls around.

I just looked at the pics again to see that outstretched hand. Man, not only do we have to worry about the new taller PFs but now we have to worry about the length too. I'm so worried about the sizes of the upcoming VII PFs. Should I just say eff the SW PFs and collect SW HTs instead? I feel like I want to roll into yet another Sideshow bashing tirade! Ughhh. Nerd Outrage! LOL.

Hell no! LOL! We just need to get more creative with display options. ;) I think Cody will be the same too though. With the length of the DC-15 blaster, it will probably be more then 15" deep.

I have to be honest, I keep eyeing that sixth scale Obi-Wan and Vader. Then I think to myself that I would never have fitment issues with these things, I could just pick up a detolf and fit 8 - 12 of these things in there for only $65.

I'm just not liking where SS is going with the sizes of their PFs. I'm already having enough issues with their big ass DC ones, now I have to stress myself out about their SW ones too. I know if I really want something that won't fit in a besta I could just order an acrylic case for it, but if that happens with enough of these where am I going to put all of those acrylic cases. I definitely won't have room for the bestas and then shelves, tables, or pedestals to hold all of those acrylic cases. And you surely couldn't stack the acrylic cases on top of eachother. Now I'm just going off onto an angry paranoid rant thanks to Sideshow and their huge freaking PFs lol.

Do you mean 3 individual Besta cubes? Didn't they used to sell one that was 4 squares high or am I wrong?

They did have a 4 square high 100" besta that came with doors. That thing was a freaking beast! lol. You'd need a ladder to get to the top one.

1/6 may be a better fit for you then. And, there are plenty of options from SS, HT, and GG. You make a good point. Going that route would solve alot of display issues. Plus, you'd never see a paint app like on Savage on an HT figure.

I didn't even consider the fear I wouldn't have to go through when opening a figure like I do when opening one of SS's PFs. I don't know what I'm going to do just yet. I'm not planning on ordering any more stuff until after SDCC. That will give me some time to think about how I want to collect SW stuff.

Actually, yeah, I think they did at one time. I don't know if I'd try that with individual cubes though. Well, at least for me since I'm on carpet.

I have two 2x2 Besta cubes and was wondering if I could stack them in the future.

You are having the same debate as me! I keep eying those as well and I see the HT Stormtroopers look great. I'm just starting to think about size, display room, and the many more characters I could get. Plus when Episode VII is released HT will probably have 5+ figures up for preorder while it will take SS forever to get a PF developed.

I went ahead and ordered the Hoth Luke...if I'm happy with him I may start making the change from 1/4 to 1/6.

I was thinking the exact same thing about HT having like 5+ Ep VII figs out while SS will probably only have only 1 to 2 Ep. VII PFs that probably won't even ship until late 2016. But at the same time I'm not so sure I want to be slammed with so many HTs in such a short period while I will still be collecting DC PFs at the same time. I don't think I'll have the money to buy everything I want at once. I'm just really looking forward to SDCC to see what SS and HT has in store for us, and I think that will help me decide where to take my SW collection.

Good choice ordering Luke! He looks great!
