LMAO! That would be hilarious!
Thats the big reason this movie is getting this much backlash. MOS just wasn't universally received and the people that didn't like it are making sure to make themselves heard after WB released their planned DC movie slate that is all based out of MOS and its going to take a good decade to get through it all. All those fans that don't like MOS don't want to be stuck with that tone and feel for all of that time. Likewise the people that loved MOS are also making their voices heard hoping the plan continues without any problems. Marvel never had this problem as it all started with Iron Man, and that is one of the most praised superhero movies of all-time, and rightfully so because it was ****ing awesome!
I sure hope you are getting a much better product than SS delivers because man those XM pieces price range can get insane. I still want one though. I hope they get the DC license too.
Yeah, even my mom said that it just didn't feel like the Donner films. I told her, "They aren't supposed to." Just like Batman, there are plenty of versions out there for everyone when it comes to Supes. Even if this is the version of Bats and Supes for the next few years, there are plenty of older movies to keep fans happy while others who enjoy the current version enjoy their time.
My Sideshow pieces have been hit or miss lately, my Batgirl had black paint on her chest and even my Boba Fett had scratches on the base. My Gladiator Hulk was perfect though. The Daredevil is flawless from what I can tell and I'm just going to say right now that I don't think Sideshow could paint these belt buckles or triangles this well, there would be paint smudge galore.
It cost $1K shipped. I can't believe I spent that much on a statue, never thought that would happen, ha. I've been selling all my Hot Toys, the figures just weren't doing it for me especially after I got that ginormous Hulk statue. I realized bigger is better
That shirt is awesome! Is that your riding shirt or your gym shirt?
I've noticed secondary XM prices have been coming down lately. Even the Wolverine is starting to go for right around $1K on ebay and it was way over a while back. I think the hype has worn off plus they are putting a ton of product out. I'm hoping I can snag that Elektra for less than I paid for Daredevil. Of course it would be easier if SS just got distribution rights and we could purchase these for retail price (which I think is around $650 USD and there wouldn't be insane shipping prices either!).
I have 3 of them. One for the gym, one for whenever, and one for riding. I'm taking Josh's idea though of the Twi' lek girl on a motorcycle t-shirt though. Currently working on the design with my oldest daughter.
Yeah, no way SS could do that kind of work on a production figure. I can't wait to see what they do with the SW line. Congrats man.
Ha, there's no way I'd ever say a 1:4 scale statue is worth paying a grand for...but unfortunately those are the prices to get some of these pieces. And it's Daredevil, I had to have it. Even Sideshow is getting close to where you're paying $600 shipped for some statues. I guess it didn't feel as bad since I just used funds that I had received from selling other stuff (at least that's how I'm justifying it in my head).
Lord help us if they ever get going with their Star Wars stuff. They seriously must have 20+ Marvel statues in development right now, can you imagine all the SW stuff they could pump out??
Same, I don't know if I'd ever say a statue is worth the grand I've paid for it, but if it is something I really want, and the quality is there, I'm all over it!
Ha! I totally get it. I could possibly see myself dropping a grand on a Batman statue because its Batman. And that Daredevil statue is the best looking Daredevil statue I've ever seen by far. How tall is it? Are you still planning on getting a PAX?
Its good to see the excitement this company has for cranking out products for their Marvel license. I wonder whats going on with their SW stuff as we still haven't seen anything yet. Lou and I keep hoping the delay is because they are trying to get worldwide distribution rights.
Crossing my fingers and toes! LOL!
Lou should definitely be your role model for collecting LOL. I don't know how that guy has the discipline.
I actually really like the first Vader mainly because he works so perfectly in a Besta display, same with the original Fett. I would definitely have gotten the ROTJ Vader instead if I wasn't limited to a besta display, as thats my favorite Vader outfit. I've also decided to pass on R2 and 3PO because no matter how many times I try, I just can't convince myself to drop nearly $800 on them. After being spoiled by some of the "bargain" (lol) $400 prices that SS used to have on their huge DC pieces, I just can't get myself to spend $400 on 3PO which isn't nearly as big or detailed, and then almost $400 again on R2 which is basically a 10 inch tall piece of plastic. I also passed on Cody, just didn't like the character enough to purchase him. I'm not planning on ordering any more SW PFs until the Kylo Ren PF is up for order.
I wish HT would do more in 1/4 scale too. I wonder if they just don't sell that well. I'm guessing most 1:4 scale collectors have been collecting statues for years and just didn't want to jump into figures instead.
Thats a really nice sized piece. I knew that was going to be huge just looking at how high the base goes over his head.
Can't wait till you get your PAX so you can start a thread

I've just read some more BvS reviews from actual people and its at least a mixed bag, which I think is an improvement. It seems like the bashing filled with hatred for Snyder to get fired is going down a bit (its still there a little), and more people are starting to say its fun, or at least a good popcorn movie.
Like I said, I'm not going off anything the Net has to say about it. If it were you guys, then ok, but anyone else, nope!
I have to many expensive hobbies as it is. Plus, nothing has influenced my life or has my heart like Star Wars does. But, there is really some amazing stuff out there from movies I really like.
He also has a wife and kids! I'm sure if we had either we would be more limited on our spending habits, ha. Speaking of, my brother sent me a picture of his 3 boys all in SW pjs. A 1-year old Vader with a big smile on his face cracked me up.
I was thinking after I asked you about Vader that he's probably too tall for your display. Although wouldn't those Glassvik frames allow you to lower shelves without it being noticeable? And I agree that R2 is ridiculously overpriced! Wait until they release their $500 BB8! I originally had Cody on order until it took forever, debating on revisiting him. The orange clone trooper colors are my favorite.
I'm guessing most HT collectors aren't interested in the bigger scale and you're probably right about statue collectors not wanting figures. If they did do any of the humans in 1/4 scale they would still have wrist joints which would probably turn off statue collectors.
You need to stop reading BvS reviews and just go see it!
WORD! LOL! Go see it!
The SS 1/4 Cody is nice. Not asking price nice, but nice nonetheless. One of my favorite troopers so I had to have it.
LOL! That's awesome! I have SW pj's too. My entire wardrobe is SW related.
Thats awesome! Is it bad that I have SW pjs and I'm in my 30s? LOL.
Well I can tell you this from when I counted peg holes on the besta, when you lower the top shelf as far as you can the comic Batman PF will fit on the top shelf only with his short ear head, his long ear head is too tall. I think the new Vader PF is taller than comic Bats. The middle shelf allows you the most adjustability but the doors 2 inch border would pretty much hide the characters head completely from view at max height, and it still might not be tall enough for Vader. Whenever I buy a PF for this display it really has to be 24" tall or shorter.
Iron Studios is selling a 1/10 scale BB-8 for $210! And its only 3 inches tall! At that rate SS would tell you that $500 is a bargain for a 1/4 scale version. I don't know what the hell is going on in the statue collecting world

.
I've pretty much decided that I'd be crazy to not see Batman and Superman together on screen for the first time. I have a really weird taste in my Batman movies though, and I have to admit mine is heavily influenced by nostalgia. I love both Burton's and Schumacher's movies more than Nolan's. Everyone on the internet practically has a stroke when I tell them that. Donner's Superman movies are still my favorite too.
I don't see why. Donner's Superman movies are what a majority of us grew up with. Still, though, my favorite version is the current one. I even teared up during MOS which I've never done before on any Superman movie. My favorite Bats is the Keaton version, but I also really like what Nolan did with the character.
Pretty much all of my pajamas are Superman related and half my wardrobe is superhero t-shirts so I'm in the same boat!
I wish the Besta cubes were all 30" tall, it would help so much! Of course then SS would start making bases over a foot tall, ha ha.
I haven't seen the Keaton Batman movies in quite some time and I actually liked Batman Forever, but don't tell anyone that. I also liked Superman Returns more than Man of Steel...
I liked Superman Returns better than any of the Donner movies. That plane/ shuttle scene was just epic! Oh and FWIW, two of my kids love Batman Forever.
I remember going to the first three Batman movies in the theater when they were released so I'm a fan of those and the Nolan versions. To this day I still have never seen Batman & Robin though. I think the airplane rescue scene in Superman Returns is one of the best action sequences in all the Superman movies (along with when he saves Lois and the grabs the helicopter in the first movie). Man of Steel was too much video game action, I actually found myself getting bored during the endless destruction and kept thinking "Superman would never allow this to happen." I just feel Snyder has no grasp on these characters.
When does The Force Awakens come out on blu-ray? It's sometime in April right?
April 1st for digital, and April 5th for BD.
See, I feel different. MOS seemed to be a what if this actually happened and these "super" beings actually fought in a metropolitan area the destruction would be enormous. I'm glad that Snyder didn't follow the formulas from the Donner movies and Superman Returns. That said, my only knowledge of these characters is from the movies and cartoons. I'm not a hardcore comic fan, so take my opinion of it with a grain of salt, LOL! I love what they did with MOS from story to visuals and everything in between.
