You're so right! If I see a chick in a SW shirt its almost always got an R2 design on it.

I never really even use the lightup but its definitely something I like to complain about not being there LMAO! Once I start getting PFs whose sabers don't lightup I'm just going to take the batteries out of all of them as I don't want to have some that turn on and some that don't. Its kind of a downer but oh well. It does make it worse that we won't be getting a price break though. I'm just so Maul obsessed that was the first thing I noticed when I looked at MYC's cloak. It does look like its really nice quality though. He has a cloak for the Luke PF too. Now thats one I'm not familiar with as far as accuracy goes but it also looks really nice.

Yeah, I think he does great work even if some of the stuff isn't screen accurate. That hilt he did for the Kenobi Mythos though was a big deal! The piece just wouldn't be the same without it. I usually don't care for cloaks or robes on the statues because they usually hide some of the statue or the awesome tailoring we used to get. Except the Old Ben PF. That robe stays on. But Anakin and Talon both have theirs off. Oh, and the Grievous cape. That piece needs the cape. So, I really guess it depends on the statue and pose. For this new Maul though, a robe would be a good EX.

I like the dynamic pose of the OG Maul. It fits the character. This new sculpt though. Again, can the factory get the paint right? This does need that robe the more I think about it. Had to google it, but yeah, it is far more detailed than I remember, and much cooler than standard Jedi robes.

I've been looking at some videos of the Savage PF and it seems yours isn't the only one that SS got sloppy in the paint department with. I've actually been really overly happy with the paint job on all of my SW PFs. The paintjob on my Mythos pieces was never nearly as good as it is on my PFs, but almost all of my SW PFs are old ones when their QC was much better. I'm starting to worry SS might be slipping in the paint department when it comes to SW.

And remember it will be just as awesome for us watching the OT only fanboys heads explode as it will be seeing him in the movie!

Oh dude, don't even worry. That would be something I'd totally want to know! If you ever find that out for sure you make sure to post that here ASAP! That would be one I'd 100% want to know, just so I could immediately go online just to read so many people whining about it lol. I have a feeling if that actually happens though they are going to keep that very tightly under wraps. The only spoilers I probably wouldn't want to know are the ones after you find online and then immediately think "dammit, I wish I wouldn't have read that!" LOL. I've actually been going to regular SW sites and they do a pretty good job of not spoiling anything in their news feeds. I think if I went out into the forums thats where I'd run into trouble though.

I guess I am kind of lucky that most of my SW PFs are so old. The only "newer" ones I have are the Stormtrooper and Chewie, and I'd figure those would be more difficult to **** up than Aayla or Savage. My Mythos were far from flawless though. I was lucky with my DC PFs though, the only issue I had was with the original black and grey Batman and SS's customers service was pretty amazing there. I'm hoping Disney does a good job keeping them in line as far as QC goes with their SW stuff. I do still worry every time I open a new PF. I know I've said it 1000 times already, but we should never have to worry after paying these prices, we should just know everything will be perfect and if its not SS should make it perfect.

Congrats on the droid man. And! If any show deserves to have figures made from it, Daredevil is definitely one of them. I unfortunately can't buy any, but I am looking forward to seeing what they make.

Yeah, I think a 1:1 bust in every collection isn't a bad thing. Same thing with a full life size character. Someday....someday, LOL!

Ok, cool! JL busts. Now you need a WW "bust" to make it complete.

Alot of girls I see doing them go light. The reason is, they are shaping more than building. I tell ya man, when you get to the point where you can put some weight on there, you'll start to wonder why you never did those before. I'm just now at the point where I rep with 415, but when I started, it was 95lbs. Don't rush it. Give your body a couple months to get used to some weight before you go balls out! Also, you'll probably get looks for the bench guys who never do legs, LOL! Anyone else who does heavy squats will definitely get it.

Thanks man. I wonder though, is it really ever done? Like collecting. I have a riding buddy in Olympia who has a hardcore sportbike rider friend who just hates what I'm doing with my bike. He's one of those "put every manufacturer for every product you use on your bike sticker on your bike" kinda guy. That's just not for me. I don't like manufacturer badges on anything I ride or drive. Anyway, I do hope to one day be finished, but I know once I add a part, a year later, I'll find the same part that looks a little different and get that one, LOL!



I agree, go with Vader. I love my Maul bust, but TBH, the 1:2 Maul bust is painted far better, and looks more like Park/ Maul.

BTW, I'm sure you guys have seen the art work for Celebration Europe. Has nobody picked up on this?

What's the point of putting manufacturer labels all over your bike unless they are paying you to advertise? Your bike is going to be so much more badass and original!

So, you know how I said I'm done with Sideshow? Well....

Holy cow, Sideshow is just pumping out the Star Wars PFs all of the sudden. They went from nothing for a year or more to 4 in the last couple months. I feel bad for PF collector's wallets! I really do think the first Maul PF is better based on what I've seen so far. I really like that action pose.

I knew that Heston one would be perfect . Its as much the fault of the people paying the $1000+ on XM's stuff on eBay (I'm looking at you Adam! ) so they are seeing very clearly that people are willing to pay much higher for quarter scale stuff than they are charging. What they fail to realize is XMs top notch QC and impeccable protective packaging. Plus I know when they first came out all of their pieces were under 1000 ES, don't know if this is still true.

I still think he does mean Rey. They just aren't ready to reveal that yet. I mean why the hell else would they put that in there LOL. I still think its a slight possibility she could also be Han and Leia's daughter.

Well the good news is all they have to really concentrate on is the face and saber since most of Maul is all fabric or just black painted poly.

If we haven't seen XMs Boba yet who knows how long it will be until we see Maul. I hope they at least have something to show at Celebration Europe.

Hey! Ha, yeah I still can't believe I spent that much money on a statue, but what was the alternative to get a badass DD statue that wasn't going to fall over in a year's time? I'm still hoping I can get my hands on that Punisher and I'm guessing that will cost me even more.

You are right though, SS doesn't realize XM's quality is superb to theirs. And technically their statues cost around $650, it's just the shipping and premium you have to pay the middle man to get them here that drives them way up to $1K. Speaking of Sideshow quality, I see their over priced 1/6 scale Jawas turned out poorly...shocking.

I hope Jango doesn't get canned either. This piece is just taking a ridiculously long time to come out. I'm not sure what the issue is that caused this one to be delayed so much more than the others when it was teased first.

My next plan is to get the Droid PFs. I keep going back and forth on these because of the ridiculous price, but I think I need them. I'm at least planning to wait until after SDCC before pulling the trigger on them to make sure there is nothing else that I would want to put the funds towards more instead. I might bite the bullet and get both at the same time or I might get one at a time to make the price a little easier to digest. With a 5000 ES I should have at least a year to decide on these. However on Tuesday when the Maul pics come out and if that ends up looking too awesome for me to pass up I might be switching some things up in the SW room to make sure I could fit it and go for that first.

I think the Star Wars world would be a better place too. I've never wanted a child character to get killed off so badly before .

I forgot all about that Jango PF. Wasn't that announced during the 12 days of Christmas like 2 years ago? I feel it was the same year that had the preview for the Black Cat statue and the Darkseid PF.

I wonder if you can fit this new Maul in with the old Maul in the same Besta shelf?

The lightup feature is cool, but honestly, how much do we use that? I just wish that if they aren't going to do a lightup figure, make it less expensive. I didn't realize the MYC wasn't screen accurate. So much for that! LOL! I guess I need to pay close attention to that stuff. Yeah, I'm looking forward to pics too.

I'm guessing the translation is: Disney doesn't like that it's dark and an original story. They want it changed to open on a desert planet with a droid carrying a secret and for it to end with the good guys blowing up a planet destroying weapon.

Its all of my fault. This constant bitching about lack of SW PFs for years has caused the floodgates to open and now they can't stop releasing SW PFs. I'm so glad I'm being selective on which ones I'm getting.

As I write this, all the pics of the new Maul have popped up on the forums, but no sign of pricing yet. EX is a swapout hand with his lightsaber that was cut in half. Thats cool, but its something I'd never display him with. It doesn't look like it will have a lightup feature. This pic is my favorite:

As of now I'm not planning on getting this piece. I like the pose, I don't know if I like it more or less than the original, same goes with the expression. The lack of a robe is super disappointing to me. If in hand pics show up and they really woo me then I might change my mind. If someone makes a screen accurate custom robe for this, that might be the thing to actually drive me over the edge to get this, depending on what I could get a regular version for. With this pose and a robe with the hood up that would pretty much be my ideal Maul, but without the robe its just not offering me anything that my original doesn't already have.

You should probably sell that Daredevil PF before it falls over . You'll probably be okay with that since you don't live near the equator, I think its the high temps and humidity that are causing these things to deform. Although, if you sold your Daredevil PF that would help you fund the XM Punisher.

Yeah, that sounds like Disney might be panicking because of R1's darker tone, if that article is right. I'm all for a darker tone, it would make me even more open to the idea of these spinoffs if I could get something that feels new and different every time. If they make eps VIII and IX with the same basic plot from the original SW I'm gonna be pissed! LOL. I thought it worked just fine for TFA, but if they do it yet again there will be backlash much greater than the prequels ever received.

You definitely are. At least when it comes to human like sculpts. Helmeted statues are always good or ok. But the fine details in a humanoid face are missing alot from SS pieces for the last few years. Especially when compared to smaller 1/6 figures by HT. The Mythos were a good line for SS since they could just muck up the paint and just call it artistic freedom or some crap like that. It worked for those pieces too, but not for PF's.

That will be the only spoiler info I post. I'm just excited to see Hayden back. The FB page I read it on had alot of fans looking forward to his return too before the that post got taken down. I'm currently watching AOTC I'm so excited, LOL!

LMAO! Seriously! Why micro manage how they are directing these movies? That was why Lucas sold it was to give other directors an opportunity to do what they want. If Disney is worried about it being too dark for some people, just show them Rebels FFS!

I think the bases on both Mauls would be an issue more than the sabers. If they are smaller than the Stormtrooper bases, then maybe.

I've always said, I'm willing to pay more if the quality is there. For $300, I let it slide BARELY! For the prices they are charging now, hell no! I really hope with Disney cracking that whip they are upping their game. I'm still going to go with XM for the new Boba and Vader. I really want Sideshows new Maul, but will not PO until I see XM's version first.

I agree. I've always debadged my vehicles. With the bike though, it is all about making it as much Star Warsy as possible. I don't want any manufacturer representation on it at all. All that info will probably be put in the description of my videos anyway. When I go by, people will not say, "Oh! That's the Suzuki" or "There goes that GSXR." No, they'll say, "That's MAUL!" LOL!

Okay after seeing more pictures of that Maul it's cool looking. The angle in the picture you posted is the definitely the best. I can almost guarantee you a couple people will be making robes for him. I'm still debating on getting Supergirl as I know there will be custom heads out there.

Ha, I know I should sell my DD PF, it's just that I really like Daredevil so I have a hard time selling it. I still have the comiquette and that Hard Hero statue as well. Plus I have plenty of more stuff I need to work on selling first! I seriously have a spare bedroom that is just boxes of collectibles, it's ridiculous!

I think I've heard the cast say that Ep. VIII is definitely not a rehash of Ep. V. I'm really looking forward to the next one as I think that director has more original ideas than J.J. Abrams.

You definitely are. At least when it comes to human like sculpts. Helmeted statues are always good or ok. But the fine details in a humanoid face are missing alot from SS pieces for the last few years. Especially when compared to smaller 1/6 figures by HT. The Mythos were a good line for SS since they could just muck up the paint and just call it artistic freedom or some crap like that. It worked for those pieces too, but not for PF's.

That will be the only spoiler info I post. I'm just excited to see Hayden back. The FB page I read it on had alot of fans looking forward to his return too before the that post got taken down. I'm currently watching AOTC I'm so excited, LOL!

I agree. I've always debadged my vehicles. With the bike though, it is all about making it as much Star Warsy as possible. I don't want any manufacturer representation on it at all. All that info will probably be put in the description of my videos anyway. When I go by, people will not say, "Oh! That's the Suzuki" or "There goes that GSXR." No, they'll say, "That's MAUL!" LOL!

any chance you can explain the dramatic price increase for Kylo PF ? Compared to the Sandtrooper that is not less in complexity that when up a few weeks ago... I would like to understand why Kylo is $150 more.

The Sandtrooper will be the minority at that price point going forward. I'm not a project manager or other power that be that are part of the price point determination but of what I do know....pricing to manufacture continues to rise, royalty costs/licensing costs continue to rise, and so on, so forth. Sandtrooper was an older project that got going way before Kylo Ren and the recent First Order Stormtrooper, so that could have a determining factor for price point as well (i.e.: item was in development and overseas prior to some newer PFs)

Superman sounds silly and I'm not interested in the new Green Lantern characters. Green Arrow sounds like it may be interesting, but I'll just wait to pick up trades if any of it is well reviewed.

Aren't they going to digitally put Tarkin into Rogue One? I still don't know why they couldn't just put a digitally younger Han in the movies!

I'm trying to be patient waiting to see what XM brings, but with SS making all these new PF's it's hard. I just have to remember that what I see in Sideshows pics, really isn't what we get in person for humanish statues. That said, I really want to get Sideshows new Maul. Just need to be patient.

Mount St. Helens observatory. Spectacular, isn't it! Even being there it doesn't feel real. Looked like a painting, LOL! I got a ton of pics and footage of the ride. Will probably have a video out by monday.

I have only seen a few people say they were ordering the Kylo PF, and like 1 or 2 saying they were ordering the F.O. Stormtrooper PF, but I haven't seen a single person say they are getting the new Maul PF. When I first got into SS every time a piece would go up for order there would be like 2 pages full of posts with people just writing "ordered". Now nothing. I'm thinking the market is bursting right now. If SS goes under than good riddance, I'm all for business being in business to make money, but when the products increase 40% in price in 2 years there is some b.s. going on there.

I think Tarkin might be in Rogue One. If he is I thought they might try to dig up that guy they found to play him in Episode III. They already brought back the chick that played Mon Mothma in the deleted scene from Ep. III.

$500 is going to be my price limit with quarter scale. Anything I order from this point forward will have to be under that, unless its a bigger than 1:4 scale. I like the new Maul but I just justify another $200 more than what I paid on the first one. I just don't see it being worth it, and you know how much I like Maul.

Nice! I lived in Boulder, CO for almost a year. It's a wonderful area, but it snows 9 months out of the year there, LOL! The observatory we visited just opened up for the season, and thankfully we went on a Tuesday or it would have been packed! I'm throwing a few more pics up on my FB page if interested:



I'd be far more ok with the price hike if the quality and QC was more of a guarantee. Paying more to have to deal with the same uncertainty of getting a piece without damage, a good paint app, or any other QC issues is not something I'm and I can't imagine any one is willing to put up with. Seeing how XM handles their products, the customers, and everything else makes me feel more confident even though I'm paying even more than what I would be with SS.

What makes the "Prop Shop" Kylo helmet worth the $2000 price tag when you could get the Anovos Premier Kylo helmet for $700 and the Standard line Kylo helmet for $300? I have only seen a few people say they were ordering the Kylo PF, and like 1 or 2 saying they were ordering the F.O. Stormtrooper PF, but I haven't seen a single person say they are getting the new Maul PF. When I first got into SS every time a piece would go up for order there would be like 2 pages full of posts with people just writing "ordered". Now nothing. I'm thinking the market is bursting right now. If SS goes under than good riddance, I'm all for business being in business to make money, but when the products increase 40% in price in 2 years there is some b.s. going on there.

I think Tarkin might be in Rogue One. If he is I thought they might try to dig up that guy they found to play him in Episode III. They already brought back the chick that played Mon Mothma in the deleted scene from Ep. III.



$500 is going to be my price limit with quarter scale. Anything I order from this point forward will have to be under that, unless its a bigger than 1:4 scale. I like the new Maul but I just justify another $200 more than what I paid on the first one. I just don't see it being worth it, and you know how much I like Maul.

That seriously does look like a painting! I really love the mountains. When I went to Colorado it was one of the coolest experiences ever.

Wow, shipping big/heavy items from outside the U.S. is expensive as heck. It costs around $250 to ship a heavy XM statue over here.

I haven't seen anyone posting "ordered" on anything in a long while! Now I mostly see, "I may order eventually" or "Will wait for a coupon." Their exclusives don't sell out for months. People won't even order SS products now until they see in-hand pictures because that's how little collectors trust them! Like I've said before, I'd really like to see their sales numbers. By the way, SS refunded me my NRD and all of my flex payments on Darkseid. I used the money to buy another HT Star Wars figure.

What part of Colorado did you visit?

Nice! I lived in Boulder, CO for almost a year. It's a wonderful area, but it snows 9 months out of the year there, LOL! The observatory we visited just opened up for the season, and thankfully we went on a Tuesday or it would have been packed! I'm throwing a few more pics up on my FB page if interested:



I'd be far more ok with the price hike if the quality and QC was more of a guarantee. Paying more to have to deal with the same uncertainty of getting a piece without damage, a good paint app, or any other QC issues is not something I'm and I can't imagine any one is willing to put up with. Seeing how XM handles their products, the customers, and everything else makes me feel more confident even though I'm paying even more than what I would be with SS.

Yeah, those props are unbelievably priced. What makes the "Prop Shop" Kylo helmet worth the $2000 price tag when you could get the Anovos Premier Kylo helmet for $700 and the Standard line Kylo helmet for $300? I just realized that the Prop Shop is on Star Wars .com. Is this an in house thing by the LF prop department?

Yep that's the problem with SS. They don't listen to their customers or involve them at all in production like XM does and it's a gamble every time you open one of their products because you never know what's going to be inside.

I think that Prop Shop is a direct Disney/Lucas Films thing. I actually saw an article on the Internet about it yesterday, but I didn't click on it. I would much rather pay the $300 Anovos is asking as I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference as it is!

I did visit Boulder for a day, that was a cool city. I was staying in Estes Park which was a really awesome little mountain city that was pretty close to Boulder, and Elk would actually come down from the mountains and walk amongst the people. That was pretty cool to see such large animals that were so used to people. One day it did snow when we went up towards the top of the mountain and then it tapered down as we got down and it got warmer, and that was pretty cool. It was like I was able to experience almost all of the seasons in one day LOL.

These Prop Shop items are apparently made by the exact same people that made the original prop, and they use the exact same techniques to make the replicas. Thats really cool, but I don't know if these things are worth more than double what Anovos. I guess it doesn't matter for me since they are way out of my price range anyways lol.

I guess XM's impeccable QC just doesn't impress me that much, because for those prices it should have it. For me its more how awesome, rare and hard to get the pieces are that make those pieces so awesome. The problem for me is even a PF is priced at $300 it should have that exact same level of QC as an XM piece because we are buying high end collectibles. If you'd go up to a regular person at a toy store and tell them about how much money you are spending on these collectibles they'd look at you like you're insane lol. I guess with that insanity I demand to have the quality that needs to come with these prices. I mean look at Kotobukiya, they offer stuff on the very low end of the collectibles market but all the stuff I've seen from them is flawless. How is it SS isn't able to replicate that when they charge over 10 times their price. And how the hell is SS jacking up the price on these things 40% in 2 years. I'm just so pissed right now, the thought of collecting anymore is upsetting to me.

I just wish SS would have taken a step back to take a look at the Supergirl PF so they could have seen they ****** up. LOL. It would probably help them to visit the forums once in a while too, because that was one piece that was taking tons of flack from the collectors. Maybe once you get a custom head it will look much better.

The additional high shipping cost is just another thing keeping me away from the XM stuff. I hate to think what their SW stuff will be going for over here once they come out.

Good job! At least HT hasn't gone off the deep end with their prices yet. Now that you mention it I haven't seen a lot of ordered posts on anything lately either. Maybe the market really is bursting.
