Is he still making it? I admit I haven't been following his customs. If he makes him are you going to get him? I know you were talking about selling off your non-canon stuff, but I know how much you love the TFU games and the character, so I'd figure that would be the centerpiece of your collection. I've gotta play those games again. I was fortunate to score the steelbook edition of the first one from Gamestop last year.

Edit: So apparently the new Darth Maul PF is only 6 lbs.??? I'm wondering if thats a misprint or if they are making another statue out of plastic instead of poly. If they reveal its plastic at $520, there is going to be a new form of outrage at SS in the forums.

LMAO! That's about as much as a 1/6 statue or figure. Is this just something posted on a forum or is it actually from Sideshows site? I mean, I wouldn't doubt it, but still you know how the Internet is.

I'm following him of FB, and as far as I can tell he is still making it. I want to say yes, but he truth is I just don't know. I'm going to have to see it first. I do want to focus on canon characters, but not sure if I'd be able to pass that up if it came out really good. Yeah, I got the steelbook of the Ultimate Sith Edition and the second TFU also. The trials in the second one are a blast!

Its listed as 6 lbs on SS's actual website. For both the EX and the Reg. If this is a screw up they screwed up on both versions. With the way SS loves to cut corners, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being plastic.

You gotta get him if he makes him! I mean, his name is even in your username. If anyone should be getting a Starkiller statue its definitely you.

I agree. It's got to be near perfect though. And, I would rather give my money to MYC than SS.

He's probably hollow. Aren't a few of their recent statues like that?

With SS ridiculous pricing, I would too. Plus with MYC you'd be getting something even more unique and limited.

There have been some that are partially hollow. People usually reveal that to the fourms once they drop one of their pieces lol. But even if Maul is hollow Polystone it would still weigh more than that. I'm still thinking its got to be some kind of a misprint, but then again their first Boba PF was listed at 9 lbs, and that seems about right, Boba could even be a little lighter than that. All I know if this thing turns out to be plastic, I will get lots of entertainment reading people's posts complaining about SS charging that much for plastic.

Well, if there are reps from SS on that forum, and they haven't chimed in yet, it could be true. Or, maybe they are just sitting back laughing their asses off watching all the bickering going on. LOL!

Very true. I just want it to turn out like how I think about it in my mind.

Probably! I'm starting to think they plan these things ahead of time to make sure they have enough time set aside for laughing at us.

Which outfit are you hoping for? I just found one of his posts and realized he's using the Sith stalker armor for his avy right now.

Yeah, it's definitely going to be the Sith Stalker. He put a few images up on his FB with the helmet, lightsaber, and a supply box that goes on Starkillers back. It should be pretty cool!

So, I just went to the Statue Forum and read the "Ask Sideshow" thread where the weight issue for Maul was brought up. This is what SSAlex said:

All Pre-Order items are estimates for weight until we get really close to the piece actually shipping (then all final dims are known/put into place on the site). The new Darth Maul PF doesn't have a huge base/environment with him, so it's going to be lighter than say the Sandtrooper PF. I have a feeling he might end up being a little heavier then the current estimate on the site but again, we won't know that until final dims arrive to us.

The original Maul, on the SS site, shows it weighed 18lbs. I'll have to weigh mine when I get a chance along with the Boba PF. But, still, 6lbs is awfully light. Even though Alex says that the statue will be a little heavier than listed on the site, can that possibly mean a whole whopping 12lbs? What about 8 even? It'll be interesting to see once these things get in hand.

I guess it is possible they might have just underestimated the weight. I just went and looked at a bunch of the SW PFs and most of them are listed around 10 lbs, maybe a little more. Maybe I'm just used to how heavy some of the DC PFs are that I didn't realize how light the SW ones are. Still 6 lbs seems really light for poly. I'd say 18lbs for the first Maul PF does sound about right.

It sounds like Starkiller will turn out pretty sweet. Hope the pose he picks works well.

Yeah, same here. As long as it's holding the saber like in the game, it'll be good I'm sure.

Which is funny because aren't some of the DC bases hollow? LOL!

Ha! Thats too funny. Now I'm thinking about stuff crust pizza. I'm going to have to go and take a bite out of one of my statues now lol.

Hahaha!

Seriously though, you know some higher up at SS told the factory to make the bases heavier but keep costs down, and they were like, "How?" SS said, "What about all these throw away parts here? Just use those!" BAM! Money saved, and the customer is none the wiser. LOL!

 Its so funny, because its true. This company is so shady at times, but for some reason I still can't resist buying their pieces. I'm like a battered woman that keeps going back to her abusive husband LOL.
