Wasted trip to Hull HMV today. All SOLD OUT!!!:wow::wow::wow:

My local stores (used to have 3, now I'm down to 1) used to get quite a lot of the steelbook stock, but recently they seem to be getting less and less, BvsS got half a dozen copies, they were gone within minutes of the store opening, I called in to pick up my suicide squad tonight and I had a browse round while I was there and didn't see a single steelbook copy on any of the displays around the store so I'm guessing this was a similar situation for this with only a handful of copies in store apart from the preorders.

I agree with the comments that the finish isn't amazing but this is a Warner Bros DC release so the finish is the same zero finish as other releases, so wasn't expecting anything else. in a perfect world the cloud and characters would have some sort of bossed treatment with spot gloss but there you go. It's been established that this isn't WEA but the steelbook art on the front looks better than the more common cartoon face / pop art version. I have said in a previous post that the Italian version that includes the 4k is the same zero finish, and more customer photos have been added to Amazon that confirm this. until now only the French steelbook has spot gloss that I have seen but that's about £32 delivered to the UK, and is only the 3D version, the same as Hmv. The HMV version at £22.99 delivered in the UK, with better front artwork is a winner for me at this point:)

This was supposed to be spot glossed according to steelbook.com.

Why would they spot gloss some of the print run but not the rest?

That really annoys me. Because it makes me think it's done on purpose solely to take advantage of completist collectors.

The average person buying this in France (or even the UK) isn't going to notice such a minor difference, but to full time collectors it's disappointing.

I'm actually surprised it wasn't the other way round as HMV usually have the superior products.

I suppose it's reflected in the price point, but taking the recent batman v superman steelbook for example, France went for a higher quality release which again at release was €32.99. ( this can now be bought from Amazon France at €13.99 btw) that release had bossing, spot gloss, and the French text aside is the best released steelbook so far.

The French one has french text and the stupid 3D printed on the front which I believe hardcore collectors hate.
I wasn't talking about that different artwork release but the Belgian and German ones that have the same art as this.

So are they not spot glossed either? Only the other artwork?

I watched the extended cut last night and tbh i really enjoyed it, i wasnt impressed at all when i saw the movie at the cinema but is the films extended cut perfect? Nope, far from it but its alot better than the theatrical cut even if it is only 11mins extra.

Kind of amazed by the hate/dislike this is getting by some people. Looks exactly like the art, just maybe a tad duller. I like it and won't be going for anything else, I may spot-gloss it in the future

I stopped believing what steelbook.com says on their website long time ago...

I love this art and think the SteelBook looks great. Looking forward to receiving mine even though I am not expecting much for the film itself.
