i think it's because no matter if you switch to € currency for yourself when buying, it doesnt matter to zavvi because they take it in GBP.

Zavvi's charges aren't always in GBP. If I place my order in EUR, the charge on my CC is in EUR (at least that's what has always happened so far).

Zavvi's EUR prices used to be noticeably higher than what the day's conversion rates would yield, but they seem to be pretty much the same starting sometime last week.

I had this problem with play.com before as conversion rate did not match was way out

I was told they don't match it daily but over a month and if the average does means its less they then only do adjust the price for euro
I think possible I might be wrong but zavvi are doing the same but only started this recent as in last 2 weeks I noticed a lot of steelbooks euro price dropped

The pre order price promise still should apply here as it does with amazon as I have had sometimes with amazon a pre order were I was billed in euro and price dropped I always got that reduction on or just after payment was taken from my card

Zavvi really don't have any option but to give the reduced price as it has dropped and as its a pre order they should give you the reduction auto
After release date they can change price and you just have to get lucky or unlucky on what price it is that day

Its a stunning Steelbook but like close encounters of the third kind the inside art is a bit disappointing should have used the one we thought we were getting
The outside and back are fantastic and the disc itself has matching picture better than the standard release

I spend allready the preorder cost from months ago and bought it higher price 18.75 € but it's now 17.25 €

does zavvi have no "price down" policy ?

They told me to check with my bank to see if I was really charged the higher price, after I confirmed that they wrote me that they would actually refund the difference in the next few days. So keep contacting them. This item had the Price promise and I you order in Euro like me you deserve the lowest price. Anyway I have also cancelled all my other order (that were still in available for pre-order) and ordered them again at the lower price to avoid the same problem in the future.

I got my answer and I think they lie to me, they told me like the price didn't droped in cost since when the item was dispatched ! I check right now and it was 24th july

I think am pretty sure it became cheaper much earlier last week may be 2 weeks ago ...

and the GBP price has not changed (14.99 before and now) - so it seems it's only because british pound lost value. i would not have too much hope that zavvi gives you refund for this.

when i found out about the new euro prices, i cancelled my pre-orders, and placed new ones, with an even better discount code... this saved me around 2€ for each steel.

They Should give you the lowest price

If you used any discount codes price promise does not apply or if its already discounted as on offer price
if its on a offer price the price promise does not apply they have a lot listed as on offer price that's how they are getting away with it

I would contact them as they should have only charged you the lowest price at time it was when been shipped
Use Zavvi Facebook Page send them a private message you get quicker responce

Just received mine in the Netherlands, but it's damaged... a lot! It's like someone jumped on the top of the steel, so sad! Hope I can solve it with Zavvi before it's sold out.
