Is this movie any good? A lot of great actors.

well its brilliantly made, the acting is incredible. de niro here is as good as in any film he's ever made (if u think he was edgy in goodfellas, or even raging bull - this is a whole new level beyond that!). supporting cast is fantastic - keitel, foster, scorcese EEK!

but its a film about alienation, and it shows it so well you'll feel drained at the end of it. its not a friday night film, but you can watch it once in a while and know your watching true modern classic. me personally, i think its one of the most powerful films ever made.

heard de niro's made another comedy film about marriage/babies or some crap - well watch this and remember what all the fuss was about. and think about how far someone can fall...

In my opinion yes. A Scorsese/De Niro classic that still retains its power even today. Very much of its time, a reflection of 70's culture. Anyone who claims to love film or is a student of film-making.. owes it to themselves to see it.

Gorgeous Steel too. Its a quadriple dip for me

So will 4k remasters be advertised as such like how 3d blu rays are advertised? What I mean is how can we, the consumer, differentiate between the regular blu ray vs the 4k remaster while shopping at a store?

I'm guessing now with all the 4K buzz, they will start advertising the 4k remasters. I believe they have been doing them for a while, I know Blade Runner was taken from a 4k master.

Surprised this classic movie has not been sold out yet given the high gloss and embossing treatment this masterpiece is getting.

That's exactly why it isn't sold out yet.
This movie received a lot of releases, including a digibook release.
So most people already own this movie on blu-ray and it doesn't sell out fast because scalpers (who buy a lot of steelbooks :p ), don't think they'll make any money out of it.

That's my explanation of course, I could be completely wrong :p.

Lol I never heard of this film before until about 5 minutes when I was looking at new 4K masters thread. I've looked up some reviews and steelbook does look amazing.

Would be good if its the same as new 4K release as ghostbuster release is meant to be amazing.

I'm sure it won't be the new 4K release, it will be the Same disc as the original version although that was mastered from 4K also. The newer 4k optimised disc gets rid of all the extras and plays at a higher bit rate though.
