Passed on this myself but it is one sweet looking Steelie again from Zavvi.

I really like the orange title on the grey background.

I prefer the new inside artwork to the original. It's just a pity the indentations from the embossing happens to fall right on De Niros face though!

I think the only version ever made on blu ray was the 4k master they haven't released another version to my knowledge.

There are 2 Blu ray releases
This one is true 4K but you will need a 4K TV AND 4k blu ray player

And both of these below used the 4k master but are 1080p release

None of those are true 4k....

that first is simply MASTERED IN

“Mastered in 4K” collection is optimized so that 4K Ultra HD TV owners can take full advantage of the new 4K upscaling technology, delivering an outstanding near-4K experience.

Keywords: upscaling and near
BS words: "full advantage"

studios dont want you having their master in their hand hence why none of those are true 4k content ... its as good as its gonna get for now ... but what should be better is when they shuff the streaming 4k from their impending set player down our throats. (atleast then the source material is real true 4k) Too bad I can barely stream 1080p so no chance in 4k. :p

Was about 400 of these available on Zavvi's Outlet the other day, now less than 100! Either Zavvi changing stock numbers or this is selling fast.

Yes what I meant was the only normal blu of this is 4k as in the film was cleaned and remastered in 4k from the negative just like gladiator etc.

Didn't even no about the new version which I doubt will really be any diffent to the version already out.

You can view the screencaps of both versions here.

Difference is barely noticable imo.

Yup. These 'Mastered in 4K' are a total scam. The original release came from the exact same 4k scan so it is technically also 'mastered in 4k'. The only real difference is that the new release has the full bitrate possible on a blu-ray (35mbps, compared to 24mbps on the original release) so the grain is resolved slightly better, but as the caps show it's very minimal. I believe also it has some other stuff mastered into the file/s so that those using 4k screens can 'upscale' these 2k discs and have slightly richer colours (I forget the correct term)

Only a true 4K release can improve on this.

This steelbook is a real beauty. Nice unique embossing with use of gloss and that title, the colour is just amazing. Very stylish release. I'm trying really hard to resist as I already have the US digipack.

yep like i said wont really be any difference as the normal blu is already remasted and cleaned at 4k anyway. so improvements could only be very minor maybe colour grading a touch.
