I don't know exactly how it works but I doubt retailers deal with studios on a title per title basis. It may be that in order for a retailer to sell a studio's big titles, they also have to be prepared to sell some of their less popular titles.

I'd be very surprised if it didn't work just like any othe retail business.

For instance, you sign up to be an official dealer for say Panasonic - that in no way obliges you to take everything they produce; because you, as a retailer, know your market, and the manufacturer doesn't. So you select from the range what you believe you can sell in your area. Q.E.D.

Sadly, with Zavvi you have the blind leading the 'we just want to unload product' studios.

Were Zavvi responsible they would cherry pick the titles they know they can sell at a profit, in the quantities they can do it at.
I can't believe they would sign up to an agreement that basically foists any old tat on them and they have no say in the mattter.

I don't get to HMV much these days as all the "local" branches have been closed down and when I do go I go to the Oxford Street branch to pick up their exclusive steelbooks.
Pray tell which steelbooks are available to pre-order from HMV at GBP 14.99.

Sorry for interjecting, but new releases such as Fury and Nightcrawler were both £14.99 at release from what i can remember from recent memory.

I presume that's the old release as they say the digital copy has expired. I'm not sure about the release date though?

Well this has turned into my favourite steelbook of the year so far! Yes I prefer it over Ex_Machina!! Just love the degign of it and the (unexpected) debossing.

My copy arrived today and I prefer it to the original by a long way for the following reasons:-

- Improved front image IMO
- Debossed title
- Subtle spot glossing on the eyes and bottle (much as an artist would add white or leave the canvas bare to give the impression of light reflecting off the surface) and on the grouting around the wall tiles which is especially nice.

I wouldn't go as far on its merits as the previous contributor but I will say that it's very nice and I'm not embarrassed to add it to my collection with the original.
