It might be. Lots of people need this one to complete their collection. They did warn us only 400 left a few days ago.
Really? Clearly I never got that email.

I find it hard to beleive they sold 4,000 Steelbooks for a film that the critics have panned in 6 days. That's over 666 copies sold each day.

The "only 400 left" is an obvious ploy that zavvi regularly use to drum up interest in a steel that isn't selling as well as hoped.

Zavvi does this all the time. For example when Sword In The Stone and other new Disney steelbooks were announced soon we received messages "only 200 left" then "only 100 left". Now it's been many weeks and these are still in stock.

Pre-ordered this before going to watch it. Went into the cinema with low expectations, and it still managed to disappoint me.
Personally I hated it more than Salvation, at least that film tried to do its own thing, rather than feeding off the original films with pathetic attempts at fan service.
The tragic thing is I cant bring myself to cancel this pre-order. There is no way Zavvi have sold out, but this is one franchise where the steelbooks only increase in value. Planning on keeping this turkey sealed and seeing what happens.

I just saw this film at the cinema and found it to be rather decent

A solid movie and very entertaining much better than salvation which I thought was terrible (Even if Arnie was in it the film would have sucked)

I didn't pre-order the steelbook as I think it will be similar to Sin City 2 which I recently picked up for £11 odd but will get it at some point

I'm inclined to agree. I'm also uncertain as to whether I should retain or cancel my order for this release.

Having seen the trailer, I went to see Genisys at the cinema with fairly low expectations. I was in two minds as to whether I should bother but being a Terminator aficionado, with various editions of all four of the previous movies in my collection, I decided I needed to see it for myself.

The previous week, I had attended one of the special screenings of T1 at my local multiplex, and the day before seeing Genisys, I had rewatched T2. With those still fresh in my mind, it rapidly became clear that Genisys was essentially a parody of both of those films.

I can forgive the gaping plot holes, this is, after all, a movie about time travel. The main problem for me was the Kyle Reese / Sarah Connor relationship, which had been central to the first film but came across here as hollow and contrived. In T1, the chemistry was palpable and you really cared about their characters. In Genisys, the chemistry was non-existent. If you're going to bring back characters from a much loved earlier film, it's surely essential to retain their personality traits.

So, the big decision for me is whether to go ahead and obtain this release, to satisfy the completist in me, or just ignore it and try and pretend that it doesn't exist.

Pretty p!ssed off about the early pre-orders for steels these days, especially Zavvi.

I wanted to watch this at the cinema before deciding whether or not to go ahead and buy it... well... I watched it last night and thought it was great. I watched 1 and 2 a few days before I went and I loved the way they linked them all (thankfully ignoring 3 and 4)... The movie hasn't even been out a week yet...

Now, I want to buy this... it's "sold-out". W T F ... Guess I'll be looking abroad, and yep, I know this will come back in stock as people cancel when they see the artwork, "oh, I don't like the embossing, it's matte, looks crap" etc. ... which is another point entirely that annoys me.

A few things I would like to happen before I finish with steel collecting as I'm near my wits end:
1) companies need to confirm artwork, finish and say whether it has embossing etc, BEFORE setting pre-order. (I like the way FA, Plain etc do business)
2) remove rights to cancel 48 hours after placing pre-order (or lose a deposit or something)

anyway... great movie... get the steel, any steel! :headphone:

You need to adopt most collectors on this forum's mindset: preorder now, cancel later.

If you got your order in before you saw it, you could have, A) kept it if you liked the film. Or B) cancelled it if you didn't.

I don't think companies are going to change the way they are currently marketing things (ie: show us artwork and details) They are only out to make as much profit as possible as quickly as possible at the end if the day.

It's better to be able to cancel than not to know if it will become available again.

Maybe you don't agree with this? But it's how this game works most of the time. Especially for big titles.

Chances are that the artwork will be the same as the US etc. releases, considering I saw somewhere else in the EU having the same artwork for the steelbook the other day.

That would be against the law to do that and would be a serious offence

Zavvi are a online shop and customers have rights to cancel an order without penalty

Its an offence under European directive on consumer rights to deny a customers right to cancel an order when ordered from a Company based in the EU

You have the right to cancel any order at any time before an order is shipped and the right to cancel an order upto 14 days after you receive your goods
Items you want to cancel/return must be unused and still have all packaging and any seals not broken

A full refund including any delivery costs you paid

lets just hope it won't be that ugly white art... but looking at other countries it seems to be WWA so we can expect the same from zavi
I quite like the white artwork actually. I would be happy with that or even the usual artwork that's on most of the steels.
But imagine if that is really white artwork, glossed and embossed. I think it would look great!

Yeah it'll likely be the white artwork as shown above unless Zavvi managed to secure WEA, which is a shame as I much prefer the placeholder artwork to that.

I would consider ordering if it's the white artwork. Looks good but I just can't bring myself to watch this film!

If the black artwork is being used for the 3D Version (as is suggested in the German mock ups above), then it would make sense that this will have the black artwork also as it includes the 3D version of the movie.

Didn't Transformers Age Of Extinction have 2 different artworks for Steelbooks also. One with the 3D and one without.

I really hope you're right as I honestly don't like that white art, looks so cheap imo
