you can't go wrong with a Taiwan release ! ... I grabbed myself a few copies, don't care if value goes up or down when I buy a steel it's because I feel it's the best version...... and when you have them displayed side by side on the bookshelf, the Taiwan Slip cover really looks great

btw, only the black web on spider-man's mask has glossy treatment. (not embossed)
spider-man's eye (embossed) doesn't...

(i think) two slip are too tight, so the slip and the steelbook rub with each other, cause some white trace on the up left...........

**update: the white trace is from slip's paper, use your finger to rub the white part, it can be easily remove.**

I think the webbing is just Glossy so it looks like it stands out. Can't see any embossing "tracks" for the web from the inside pics
I think the front of steelbook for No.2 is just a big mess..

The black border ruins the front. The jokers who approved this have to fired
The embossing on this is terrific and the front artwork is actually decent. The black border looks silly though, it wouldn't have been as bad if it aligned with the raised border. The back and inside artwork looks completely out of place as well, they could have at least attempted to select something which matches nicely with the front artwork. Nevermind. It's a Sony release and they have milked the first film to death, so i'm sure there will be another (hopefully better) Steelbook release in the future.
I'm guessing this is the 'Silkscreen' finish that has been alluded to in other threads, it does add another dimension so hopefully it will be used on more upcoming releases.you're right!

The thick black border is such a big eye sore which means I'll pass on the FS version.
