I got a Croods lenticular like that before Christmas. Sent wrapped in brown paper!!! I mean c'mon, by Thors beard, BROWN PAPER!!

Brown paper + tin + postal service = disaster.

They may as well have just stuck a stamp on it.


When will people learn?

Unfortunatley, from experience, it's common enough to receive Steels like this from private sellers in Germany and France.

I find this situation sad and as well as strange. There were few members selling this close to cost price in the classifieds but after few months due to lack of sale I saw them being listed on eBay.

Unfortunatley, from experience, it's common enough to receive Steels like this from private sellers in Germany and France.

It's a gamble though isn't it? You can find VERY cheap steelbooks from 3rd party sellers on amazon.de and on ebay.de, but these usually are inexperienced sellers who have no idea what they are selling and therefore don't give a damn about packaging. I always send them a template about packing it very very well and using bubble-wrap and a stable box and usually that does the trick!

I bought my DE copy of avengers from a member's trade thread here

BUT

Going through each of the hundreds of sale threads here is such a choOOOOOOOOore. Far easier to search on ebay where u can see what your after in a microsecond. HDN Trade section badly needs to be searchable by keyword, otherwise it will remain a huge time wasting sink-hole IMO.

I'm not a happy today
I got delivery of the steelbook from a marketplace seller on Amazon Germany
The Steelbook is badly damaged

The spine is broken fully and I suspect it was not caused by postal system but sent that way
It was advertised as new

I'm very annoyed
It was sent in a Jiffy Envelope White
Very basic was crazy to use for a steelbook

I have requested a Refund
I can handle the odd scratch but this damage is a NO WAY Acceptable

I got a Refund and told to keep it
I got this to hold the discs
Marvels Avengers Viva Metal Case
Got this to replace my Damaged German Steelbook
Much better very happy

Got this for $70 on amazon sealed mint & I opened it its truly mint. Great steel one of my favorites in my collection awesome spin and interior great embossing and very high gloss finish. Must have for the marvel steelbook collection could be a future grail in my opinion Here's a pic front back and interior....

I was considering to trying to do a repair as you mentioned but the spine is also damaged a bit so I would need a new printed spine label

I got a full refund and was told to keep the damaged steelbook
I got the Best Buy Marvels Avengers Viva Metal Case instead to put the Discs in
The Avengers Viva Metal Case cost me less than I paid for the German Steelbook

So overall I'm happy with my Avengers Case now

I might at a later stage have a go at fixing the Damaged German Case if I can find a template of the spine to replace as that's was also damaged so its a messy one to repair
