To quote the specs: "First pressing only: Collector’s booklet featuring new writing on the film by Justin Kerswell"
Not impressed with that ! A booklet (really hardly anything more than a leaflet) available in past times with the Amaray editions as well and now not even available with all 4,000 steelbooks (n)
(Not forgetting the whole raft of Arrow Amaray first releases with "window" slipcases that came not just with booklets/leaflets but sometimes with posters and artcards too . . . ).

As a protest I will not be pre-ordering @GBP 17.99 and s*d the booklet.
----------------I will not be buying it in their first sale @GBP 12.99
----------------I will be buying it in their second sale @GBP 9.99

On the other hand, if Zoom offer this @GBP 14.99, and with the 10% code, I could be tempted by an early pre-order . . . the artwork looks to be of the usual high quality I've come to expect from Arrow and because I've always had a stab at buying all of their Blu-ray Amaray and steelbook releases.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It should be mentioned that out of the two dozen or so Arrow steelbooks only 5 of these are OOP with the Arrow online exclusive BLOOD AND BLACK LACE still available 1.3 years later.
(those 5 now OOP, for anyone interested are:- (1) DEMONS 1 & 2 (2) LADY SNOWBLOOD 1 & 2 (3) ZOMBIE FLESH EATERS (4) LIFEFORCE and (5) BIG TROUBLE . . . ).

I've been price-watching the U.S. Shout Factory Blu-ray Collector's Edition for ages but that's region "A" locked and never priced at less than 15 quid and with almost all of the same Extras as the Arrow release:-
SHOUT EXTRAS:-
**FINAL LIST OF EXTRAS for THE BURNING!**
- Audio Commentary with Director Tony Maylam and International Film Journalist Alan Jones (and Tom Savini . . . reportedly)
- Audio Commentary with stars Shelley Bruce and Bonnie Deroski
- Blood ‘n’ Fire Memories – A detailed look at the creation of the film’s make-up effects with Special Effects Artist Tom Savini
- Slash & Cut – An interview with editor Jack Sholder
- Cropsy Speaks – An interview with actor Lou David
- Summer Camp Nightmare – An interview with actress Leah Ayres
- Behind-the-Scenes Footage
- Theatrical Trailer
- Make-Up Effects Still Gallery
- Poster & Still Gallery

ARROW EXTRAS:-
Two NEW Extras not on the earlier U.S. Shout release:
- Brand New Audio Commentary with the Hysteria Continues
- Brand New Interview with Composer Rick Wakeman

The "first pressing" booklet term is too vague, it could mean all the steelbooks get the booklet or only a small amount?
It was at better when they used to say the booklet was limited to the first 2000 or something so that way you could try to determine how long you had till the booklet was oop

Kinda disappointed no commentary from Jason Alexander and Holly Hunter.....

Jason Alexander disowned the film. He was asked by fan on Twitter if he would be part of any of the special features for the then announced Scream Factory edition and his reply was basically 'why would I want to participate with that rubbish' or something similar along those lines

Another one that slipped through the cracks for me. Never seen it although i rather enjoyed the rather cheesy Sleepaway Camp. :D

A blind pre-order for me. Any assurance that ill enjoy it?

Yes, another release a long time a coming to Blu-ray in the U.K. (Collector's Edition released . . . over 3 years ago in the U.S.!) and don't get me going on SLEEPAWAY CAMP for which we've still not had a release here. SLEEPAWAY CAMP 2 & 3 released here by 88 Films three months ago is scant consolation. Was hoping for a boxset of all 3 in the style of THE CHILDREN OF THE CORN but it wasn't to be . . . according to 88 Films, "a deal couldn't be reached".

I'm still guessing all the Steelbooks will come with the booklet. The 4000 print run is the first pressing. They now say this with all the Amaray releases but with Steelbooks there is only one print run, the first one. I can't see some Steelbooks having the booklet and others not.

Discount code still working. Surely that's an indicator that this won't be selling out anytime soon as Zavvi usually shuts down discount codes on pre orders pretty quickly

I really think Arrow have done an outstanding job with the artwork. I've been staring at it in awe since it was announced, looking forward to the rest of the reveal.

The majority of their releases are great but I think they've really outshone themselves with this one. I can see this becoming out of print as quickly as Little China.
