Actually, the last Warner release I bought from Best Buy, Wrath of the Titans was top notch.

Sure, they'll print a lot of these, but it'll have inside art and a nice finish.

I won't complain...too much.

That definitely agrees with what I heard about the quantity that UK retailers had to agree to in order to win the contract for this one, Warner is big on quantity.

We might have another Scarface on our hands in terms of total print run...

That would mean this "exclusive" steelbook will have a production run similar to the Scarface steelbook from a year ago. I am not sure I "buy" that story simply because there are other TDKR "options" for buyers. Overloading the shelves with this one exclusive might mean they will sell less of the others (Batcowl, Trilogy, and the regular amaray). Unless of course Best Buy is planning to drop the price even more than the leaked $22.99 in order to push this out the door.

Yeah, I'm not complaing too much, I'm glad we can get these without having to import them. My concern is that they are overproducing them, thus losing quality. At the store I go to, there were like 10 TDK steels before they re-stocked, now there are about 30, and all had some kind of imperfection.

That's what I'm talking about. That's crazy. If that is true we will see this one for cheap in a couple of months after release.

Take this as it is - just confirmed with reliable sources that several stores in my area have 100+ quantities on order. Looks like we have another Scarface situation here. Sad.

Unless you absolutely have to have this title on day one, I would wait a little while as it will almost undoubtedly come down in price and there should be plenty available. They went with a lot of quantity on these, but hopefully there is quality as well.

Oh don't get me wrong. I for one will advocate "the more the merrier" but only at a great price point. Without a good price, these steelbooks will sit on those metal shelves for a long time and become so banged up, people will be turned off by them. That is what I meant by my reference to sad Scarface - I saw so many badly mangled steelbooks in store even at the then low, low price of $14.99.

Tariq, anyone with an US address can pre-order online or if you are close to a store, you can pre-order there too. They will ship or release this steelbook on release day. What you have been hearing is incorrect since they will be breaking the street date of December 4th. And this is NOT an empty steelbook like the Disney pre-order Viva metal boxes.

Only during the pre-order period and the download is only 35 minutes of the entire documentary which I believe is 90 minutes. That is what I remembered of the info on the poster I saw in store yesterday.

Unfortunately it looks like WB has locked the artwork for all steelbook releases of this movie. The good news is that it means there will be future releases with new artwork. But it also means more hits on the wallet.
