How could the retailers in Korea be to blame. They are not the ones that made the product. I am blaming the main Distributor in Korea for this one.

I'm not blaming the retailers. The guy at kimchi asked me why the slips were so popular and i told him that it bring a unique factor and makes it exclusive to Korea. His reply seemed as if he didn't believe me. So I'm thinking now he does but for what it's worth to them I'll keep my orders.:movie:

Why else would he think that Westerners would be so keen to have Asian steelbooks which otherwise looked the same as everywhere else in the world?

Because asians always seem to have a sarcastic opinion about everything. Its normal. :hilarious:

Im half asian so nobody takes my comment the wrong way. You know those instigators.

At least its a rare Korean steelbook. with a circle on the slip. :hilarious:

FFS, when I finally manage to pre order a Korea steel - this is the result! :(
Epic fail...

At least K2DVD is nice enough to ask if i like to cancel my order:
Got this from them:
"there were some cancelation requests from members who placed
pre-order for “[Blu-ray] The Dark Knight Rises Steelbook” today.
They canceled their pre-order because of this steelbook doens’t
have paper slipcover which is added usually to the steelbooks (
it’s usually at the bottom side of the steelbook).

So, before processing packing/shipping job, we’d like to ask you
if you want to keep the pre-order without the paper slipcover or
just want to cancel."

This act alone is why I believe K2DVD is top of the class for all steelbook retailers. They have bent backwards to help every single time I needed their assistance..

Maybe folks cancelled this time but they will know where to go first next time they need a super nice Korean steelbook. With increasing support, they might be able to influence the distributor to do better next time.

There are other Korean online shops out there, but k2dvd is my #1 vendor. I go with other shops ONLY IF k2dvd is out of stock.

The slip might not be as impressive as previous ones and I am slightly disappointed, seeing as this is my first Korean pre-order, but it didn't even cross my mind to cancel the order. If it had been a high print run HMV exclusive etc then maybe but this is still going to be a rare steelbook and the likes of k2dvd deserve support.

They also get credit in my eyes for emailing me the option to cancel. Not many turn down business due to the studios laziness

So make room for one more on that ship guys ;)

I fully agree! It's top notch to allow cancellation at this late date.
My ranting was more towards the product, not the shop.

Now it seems like the german slip is more attractive then this :hilarious:

So.. got the email? who is keeping this as zoneism said.. for me my first preorder for a korean steel and this :(. But amazing service from k2DVD... what your advice guys. Keep or cancel?

My recommendation for folks seriously considering cancelling but still wants to support K2DVD is to replace the order with Resident Evil: Retribution or the very nice Cars 2 steelbook. But only if you can get this same steelbook elsewhere. If not, then keep the order.
