For any receiving notification of the shipping charge the steelbooks are already most likely packed and ready to go. As they're not likely to want to unpack them again for another round of checking, it's easier for them to warn people there may be small paint flaws. Seems like it's going to be a common issue unfortunately.

Man what a disaster this release has been. :( Disappointment all round from what could have been one of the releases of the year. And an especially poor show from the two countries who normally do such a great job with their releases, Korea and Taiwan.

JSDVD are obviously not going to bother checking for flaws, as it's easier for them to just make the customer aware and give the option to cancel.

Personally I'm going ahead with my order and trusting to luck that I might get okay copies. If not, I'll take the hit and stick them on eBay as damaged.

All very disappointing though, given the blockbuster status of the movie.

But buy selling on ebay as damaged you are going to loose money. Who is going to pay for something chipped. I wouldn´t...... but they are making me paying.....

I don´t know what to do I preordered 3 copies with the notebook and I dont know if I should take the risk or cancel and buy just one copy mint on ebay.

By the way I find this so ridiculus, paying for something that is suppose to be brand new perfect in a store and have to be gambling if the copy is going to be perfect or not. On the top of that, the Steelbooks are everything but cheap.

Yes, you may lose some money. But I'm not convinced it will be any easier to find a mint copy on ebay if the problem is that widespread. Perhaps through an HDN trader?

It's very frustrating and disappointing. But for European collectors, buying from Asian retailers is always a gamble because it's so difficult to return faulty copies. I'm always nervous when opening packages from Japan, Korea, China etc. It's just a bigger risk on this particular occasion. :ohno:

If mine turn up with noticeable paint damages then I'll dump them and move on. Such is steelbook collecting....sigh.

Sorry guy's but it's a tough call regarding exchanges thru there site. I've already emailed them about SW&H and they replied back with this:

Dear Customer,

We're sorry to hear that, but we carefully check every single one before shipping, just like collectors.

We wouldn't shipping if have any damaged.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Best Regards

So I should be receiving my copy with total recall sometime next week. But now they're stating this new issue with DKR is a total letdown. Understand they clearlly stated in there email that they "carefully check every single one before shipping, just like collectors". Obviously thats not the case here they decided to hell with it and let's just ship these copies out. I'm hoping my copy arrives flawless but thats just me being positive...

That looks like a standard copy and paste job they send anyone who complains.

Absolute bollocks and piss poor.

Just got the same email...

Dear Customer,
Unfortunately the supplier cant prepare 100% faultless of the item.
We need to let you know most of the items have tiny traces on coners.

I'm going to wait a day to have a good think about cancelling.

Does this come with any gifts...I can't remember anymore

Yeah gifts come to those who order early. Also I like English muffins.

After reading all your guys comments on the paint chip, its kind a makes me worried that all my 40pcs that I send out are the same.
With the plastic sealed, reflection from lights and the rain drop design and patterns.
It's really hard for me to identify if that's a paint chip or its actually a design.

I've open up my copy and look at it real hard, I mean really hard.
I did find "a few" and not just those you guys mentioned, spreading around the cover.
And I look at it over and over again, it could be the rain drop design, which the rain drop design hitting on the broken cowl.

This is definitely not the fault of the retailer, as we have been hitting with lots of manufacturing defects recently from the releases.
I would suspect that the factory mold that are having the issue.

Most of the ASEAN releases are coming from Hong Kong, I know Hong Kong production line had this issue all along. Just look at blufan releases, how many of them are getting perfect production.

If you understand steel pressing, it's very difficult to maintain the mold.(not sure if this is the correct spelling) each pressing may leave some residue on the mold and one single tiny chip may cause the whole production to be redo.

I'm not related to any retailer or manufacturer but looking at the issues, we should instead going on the root cause rather than the retailer.
Yes, the retailer may feel some pressure from you guys and they would scrambled to try and assist what ever they can. Within their means of definitely.
They would feedback to the studio or manufacturer and its all depends on the studio if they are willing to take the issue up or not.

I understand how you guys feels about getting "defective" goods but I do find manufacturing defects is something that always happens. If there are defects during production, the whole batch would be affected, you won't find a perfect one. The one that you found and so call perfect may be just the defect is minimal and visibility is low.

Just me 2 cents after reading 2 pages of posting. I may be wrong or drunk.:hilarious:
Don't :shoot: me.

Yeah, that's pretty much why I kept my order. They'll all have the same fault to some degree, you just have to hope the ones you get aren't too bad.

Still pretty poor for such a major release though. I'm just hoping the Japanese ones don't suffer from the same flaw.
