Just a little fun thread to share your EARLY predictions, and general thoughts about shopping on this holiday. Do you knock the crowds over for deals? Stay up until your eyes bleed, surfing for deals online? What's your craziest Black Friday story?

For international members-"Black Friday" is a USA shopping day, the day after Thanksgiving. It is a day that retailers bank on to gain a significant amount of their sales for the year, by offering a variety of "crazy" deals to draw customers into stores. Stores usually open 3 am EST and some even earlier, with lines wrapping around the block (especially electronics stores), and some even camping out.

Do you participate? Skip & stay home? Best Deal you ever snagged?

I went last year and got some steam washer/dryers for half off And then bought some stuff on Amazon. Idk if I'll go this year. If anything is worth it to me that I REALLY need, yeah I guess. If not, I'll save the money.

I did a bunch of AMZ last year. Was awesome, too bad I dont even remember what I got. I think my Watchmen Night Owl Ship was one tho.

Yeah, I did a mix of online and B&M-I think we enjoy the temporary insanity. Years ago we purchased our first Plasma at my fave electronics retailer (6 Ave), where we actually had a rep that knew us by name (we purchased $1000's there). And we waited online for hours, but we also got $800 off a top of the line TV, so it was worth it at the time. The TV never went down to that price again, not even when it was replaced with a newer model. The thing that makes me laugh the most is when people buy stuff and they don't even know what it is (have witnessed at Best Buy). But all and all it's still fun!

I love Black Friday. I don't camp out or anything, but if a deal catches my eye then I get my butt out to the store. Last year I camped out in front of my computer and snagged some sweet deals from amazon. I was already done Christmas shopping after 5 hours.

The best deal I ever snagged was, by far, the Wal-mart PS3 deal. Buy a PS3 and get 10 Blu-rays free (not including the 5 free Blu-rays mail-in offer). So all in all, I got 15 free blu-rays for the price of an 80gb PS3. I was on cloud nine.

I got my first PS3 that year. Got up at 4 in the morning and went to gamestop to pick up a 40 gig. I wasn't aware of the get 10 free blu rays until after I got home and got on the internet.

Those were the days ... the free movies by mail when you buy either and HD DVD Player or Blu-ray haha.

Hey Wreck, LOL-I got that PS3 deal, too. I had to drive 40 miles to get it (I found out about it in another forum, but every single store anywhere near me was sold out). I got the PS3 with the 10 free Blus,and another 5 by mail I was like "woot woot". So I had a PS3 as my 1st BD player, but was not even a gamer, it was hysterical. But it was fun hunting that deal down; my partner was like "you're nuts". But I like the craziness of it all-to an extent. When I see people camped out over a $20 adapter I shake my head, but it's also about the bs'ing on line. Have you guys ever camped out for consoles? (I know you play)....

Best deal ever was with Amazon. I got two 80gb PS3's with Pirates of the Carribean Trilogy, Spiderman Trilogy, LittleBigPlanet, Firefly Season 1, 2 blu-ray remotes, some other game, and more stuff for only $596.
