Q) What is the purpose of this thread?
A) To discuss Ebay policies/issues

Q) Where can i find the Ebay Presale Policy?
A) Click HERE

Q) Can a HDN Trade mod help me with an Ebay sale/trade issue? Also why is there no 'ebay bad traders' list?
A) Simply put, no. To find out why, ensure you read the following spoiler:
please use this thread as a RESOURCE to ask your fellow members about problems you've had with a reseller or questions about e-bay.

do NOT use this thread to attack or refute other members. if you an e-bay dispute with a member here, perhaps it's best to approach a trading mod before posting? we don't police e-bay, but maybe we can give you a tip or two.

if members ignore these suggestions, then the thread might be locked for a couple of weeks.

thank you.

hey folks,

as a reminder what myself (and other mods) have continued to mention via private message, e-mail and other areas. we do NOT police other trading marketplaces like ebay, youtube, amazon and the rest.

there is ONLY a certain amount of information at our disposal and we do not have the resources in these other locations as we do on this forum - things that we can look at and evaluate.

having said that, there are trading rules on this forum that have been instituted for your own protection for trading transactions that happen HERE.

this includes the pending / active sales threads, the requirement of feedback posted for any new traders, our support ticketing system, the active investigations held by trading moderators and many other things we do not discuss openly.

we have long held that problems occurring on these other forums and marketplaces should be taken the appropriate authorities on THOSE websites.

many of you are established traders here on this forum and you should know all about the guidelines that are stickied in this section - including having new traders send first, getting tracking from the other party and proof of shipment, and what other precautions can be taken to protect your trading safety.

trading via ebay and their messaging system is against their stated policy and should not occur - and there are reasons why they have created that policy. you don't have protection of paypal or their listing system as a buyer or seller.

having said that, if there is trouble with an ebay seller or buyer, you should go to their website and report it there. if you are not aware of this process, follow the below link for more information.

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/report-trading.html

so folks can feel free to chat about a seller or buyer that they are having problems with, but I can tell you right now - there will not be a "witch hunt" by moderators or staff based on one person's account of the problems or trouble they are having - and we limit the action taken for or against members here to transactions that occurred on this forum.

as stated in the thread title of our bad traders list - that list is for FORUM MEMBERS ONLY.

thank you.
Q) Where can i find the HDN Buyer Beware / Bad Traders list?
A) You can find the thread HERE

Wrong shipping metod

Got a small and perhaps stupid question.
I ordered IM2 of ebay from UK. It arrived in mint condition, so no problem there.
However the seller charged me for royal mail international signed for, £10.

However the package arrived direct to my mailbox without any tracking ID.
So he had choosen a cheaper shipping, should I be upset or take any actions???

(Sorry if i'm OT...)

i think he proabably under quoted you and maybe didnt take enough cash to the post office as i done this myself when i first started out on ebay, so it was either send it via a slightly cheaper way or delay sending it until i came back with correct amount of money. Anyways if i sent it the cheaper way i would of refunded the difference but bare in mind its not just shipping you pay for, boxes, bubblewrap ect cost money.:D

Hey guys,

There is a seller on eBay by the name of "zsofidevil". I pre-ordered The Terminator UK Play.com version from him, but the item never arrived it has been a month. I kept sending him messages, but he never replies, he also has plenty of negative feedback. His feedback is the same problem, he never delivers the goods. I tried opening a case against him, but it has been too long. I will have to contact eBay directly, please wish me luck.

I AM SO SICK OF EBAY SELLERS TAKING PRE-ORDERS, BUT NEVER SENDING THE GOODS. THIS IS THE SECOND SELLER I HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH . Also, the second seller I had this problem with is a member here, for this case I will be contacting one of the mods. This member & seller sure likes to join the group buys. I just want others to have a heads up & avoid FRUSTRATION. The experience I had with this member is absolutely HORRENDOUS. Other members need to be aware of this deceiver of goods, 4 months and still refuses to give me my refund.

Alright peeps I was just thinking we should have the OP in this thread updated with a list of "bad traders" from various forums with there "forum name" posted in one list and in a separate list have "bad buyers/sellers" from ebay. This way we can all block bad buyers and sellers from eBay.

I really think this would be a great idea as it would help tremendously for people that buy/sell on eBay to at-least make it difficult for scummy buyers/sellers to buy/sell to us. So maybe if you all have a list of ebay'ers that you have blocked for whatever reason, perhaps post your list from eBay on here and we can compile it in the original post so its available for all?

And if a particular ebay member in the "bad" list happens to be a member on here and feels they have been wrongfully added to the list they can post in this thread and explain there case.

I just sat through and made a list of all the "bad ebay'ers" that people have stated in this thread in the 24 pages so far (maybe a mod can add it to the original post):

c.paetzel
docebzzz
pennymclaine
grosser_lutz
chopper123456
mikeyt912
joker_7_7_7
delboy_77
funsterbunster
andrew4mitchell
mitchnufc_2009

Hey Jason, could you take danielleavey off your list? Many members including myself have zero deal issues with this guy (he's a HDN member also).

No...Read the posts on page #16. Even Jason has dealt with the guy...This is bad guys, putting a member on a list for one deal MAYBE gone not right on eBay EEK!

^^^ done, i have taken him off the list. He was one of those that was mentioned in the thread as possibly having a problem with him and then no one really confirmed back how it went.

All i can say is if everyone copied and pasted there ebay blocked list here and we compiled it, I think it would be just an awesome resource and way to avoid bad buyers/sellers on eBay. All it will take is a simple copy there and paste here in a post.... I hope the idea works and people contribute.

Given your problems with ebay, I would suggest joining group buys here - either hosted by trusted members, or by HDN staff ourselves.

From our track record in that forum, as well as our trading feedback, you can see we always come through on requested items.

That being said, it's always good practice to open an e-bay case at 30 days of an item not received from an e-bay seller.

I just hate it when buyers use a microscope and then ask for a full refund and shipping both ways. WTF.

They say item is not as described in order to pull the postage refund card. I say they are abusing that one all the way. Far as I am concerned item is as described.

It actually makes me laugh because they only burned their bridge as that person now goes on my block list. Even funnier is I sold the item at a loss. LOL.

If you use that new e-bay managed returns system (and opt in), when a buyer wants to return an item, because of not as described, it automatically prints a label for them, and takes the funds out of your account for the cost. :hilarious:

The whole e-bay thing is pretty ridiculous now - I think the line gets blurry when e-bay tries to make sellers appear to all be professional shops, like they are amazon or something.

PayPal closed my dispute in favor of the seller despite returning the severely damaged Steels to the seller as I didn't use tracked delivery method. Also paypal asks seller not to refund cost of return shipping which means means buyer is ultimately out of pocket. Seller claims that item is not received so far. What I am going to do is file lost claim next week with Royal Mail and get the money back with the proof of posting and photos of the package both inbound and outbound. PayPal customer support is a joke.

P.S: The Steels were shipped in a jiffy bag despite asking seller to pack them well.

Ebay is a joke. I hardly sell on there anymore. Amazon is so much better.
