Q) What is the purpose of this thread?
A) To discuss Ebay policies/issues

Q) Where can i find the Ebay Presale Policy?
A) Click HERE

Q) Can a HDN Trade mod help me with an Ebay sale/trade issue? Also why is there no 'ebay bad traders' list?
A) Simply put, no. To find out why, ensure you read the following spoiler:
please use this thread as a RESOURCE to ask your fellow members about problems you've had with a reseller or questions about e-bay.

do NOT use this thread to attack or refute other members. if you an e-bay dispute with a member here, perhaps it's best to approach a trading mod before posting? we don't police e-bay, but maybe we can give you a tip or two.

if members ignore these suggestions, then the thread might be locked for a couple of weeks.

thank you.

hey folks,

as a reminder what myself (and other mods) have continued to mention via private message, e-mail and other areas. we do NOT police other trading marketplaces like ebay, youtube, amazon and the rest.

there is ONLY a certain amount of information at our disposal and we do not have the resources in these other locations as we do on this forum - things that we can look at and evaluate.

having said that, there are trading rules on this forum that have been instituted for your own protection for trading transactions that happen HERE.

this includes the pending / active sales threads, the requirement of feedback posted for any new traders, our support ticketing system, the active investigations held by trading moderators and many other things we do not discuss openly.

we have long held that problems occurring on these other forums and marketplaces should be taken the appropriate authorities on THOSE websites.

many of you are established traders here on this forum and you should know all about the guidelines that are stickied in this section - including having new traders send first, getting tracking from the other party and proof of shipment, and what other precautions can be taken to protect your trading safety.

trading via ebay and their messaging system is against their stated policy and should not occur - and there are reasons why they have created that policy. you don't have protection of paypal or their listing system as a buyer or seller.

having said that, if there is trouble with an ebay seller or buyer, you should go to their website and report it there. if you are not aware of this process, follow the below link for more information.

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/report-trading.html

so folks can feel free to chat about a seller or buyer that they are having problems with, but I can tell you right now - there will not be a "witch hunt" by moderators or staff based on one person's account of the problems or trouble they are having - and we limit the action taken for or against members here to transactions that occurred on this forum.

as stated in the thread title of our bad traders list - that list is for FORUM MEMBERS ONLY.

thank you.
Q) Where can i find the HDN Buyer Beware / Bad Traders list?
A) You can find the thread HERE

If Ebay sides with the buyer , ill eat a broom !

Im sure the common sense will apply here. He gave you great feedback and then wants to claim a steelbook was damaged ?

Like Horay says it had a slip and under the slip we canct determine if anything is damaged or not, we assume if the rest of the steelbook was mint that the part under the slip is mint too.

I am really baf at this person for even trying to make a claim like this .

I would also request ALL the steelbooks to be returned if he wants a refund - ALL in the same condition (sealed) like HE recieved them.

Hope that ebay uses really there common sense here.

Take care
John

Even with a slip on you'd have noticed that damage surely? It's either been damaged by the guy that bought from you, his buyer or more likely, it's not the one you sent in the first place.

in the same time, how can he receipt a steelbook from me with a such damage?

i think he did not send it in a cardboard and the local postal is the only responsible of the damage, not me. maybe his buyer (no need to open it to see such a flaw).

thanks to all

That's a real visible damage even with a slip. If you sell Steelbooks or have collecting for a while, that one won't slip by. Do you have the pictures from the listing? It's pretty simple to fight this if you have a before and after picture.

i must check but i don't think, just front and back as you can see in the listing of my auction, not of the spine.

now i need to remind me who has sold it to me? lol

Nah, but what really throws me off here is this comment:

I am a experienced steelbook collector

How did it slip by? :p Again this type of thing should be caught if that's how he received it. It would raised a flag then. Kind of leads me to believe it might of gotten damaged when he shipped it.

Hi all, I am a tad embarassed to say its me who has been scammed by blufan84 recently, and he did the same darn thing to gbdragon a few months back. Realised a little too late he was on this block list.

I sent him a steel, he claimed it had paintchips etc, I offered a full refund, he raised the claim on paypal (not ebay), he sent the item back with tracking number. With the tracking number, paypal gave him a full refund. I received the package, but it is nothing but an empty envelope, tracked. I am appealing the case with paypal, thanks to a little advice from gbdragon.

Live and learn, life goes on, but all ninjas out there who sell on ebay, block blufan84. In his sad words, "there is no trustment".

As an update, I was stumped yesterday when I received an email from paypal stating that the above case was closed, and that paypal has emailed the buyer to transfer the money back to me. Is paypal serious? Would a fraudulent buyer do as paypal says just coz he gets an email? I then wrote to paypal asking what is going on, and I am pleased that paypal has replied and admitted their error, and they will credit back the amount to my account the monies which they clawed back to blufan84 after blufan84 raised the claim. I had to do a police report etc, but at least paypal has some common sense to spot a fraud when it happens. Fingers still crossed though, as the funds have not been transferred. But it is a good resolution, IMO.

During the process, blufan84 has threatened to sue me in an international court. I am kinda shaking in my pants, :p

So, fellow ninjas, please BLOCK blufan84 if you haven't already.

5 April 2013 Update : Paypal has refunded my money. Came in just in time to purchase Terminator 2 KR, nice!

I'm so glad you resolved this with PayPal buddy:scat: I had to go through the same procedure and fill in the Avidet to get my money back aswel.

What baffles me is PayPal and eBay still allowing him to run his accounts

What's funny is when he threatened to sue you in an International court :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

This is my reply after asking for pictures of the damages.

somebody shoot me please..:snipe:

"" i didnt beg for ur refund.regarding ur gut feeling,i want to set things straight.first urs was a make offer item .i made offer and u gave it .next i asked time and u gave it.i only asked to ship it in an ordinary way which u dint which was i requested and not compelled that too after my payment.i only irritated about ur lack of communication that last friday i msg about the shipping.u had all the time to reply .but u didnt .u arrogantly shipped the item without even properly indicating about ur work policy and did so only after i posted some dissatisfaction msg.next u gave a new definition of honesty and other things about the value written on it .i had to swallow it only for the sake of the insurance claim.u also told that reputation will be spoiled for the sake of a single steelbook .

but today is the limit.when i pay that money to get a damaged steel,i controlled not to contact u anymore but cant since the huge sum for a steel and regarding ur terms of honesty

i told u cleary the details about the manufacturing defect in the bottom of front cover below the sknet cover and it was also visible at the bottom surface that the item isnt good for sale .the parcel was not damaged and the item was sealed when i received.when we pay 42 gbp for a rare item anyone deserves to get a neat one.if the steel is damaged inside u r the responsible one for not sending a good one or listing a unworthy one.in ur case,it can be seen only when opened yet u cleverly say the refund is only for sealed.i dont want ur money.already wasted a lot of time, money with u .even u get 1000 positive feedbacks, one can send a below par item like a you and say that ur a genuine seller.what difference will it make when i post the pic or return it.u can easily tell that i did the damage on purpose according to ur gut feeling and if i had shipped the item that the item was greatly damaged in my shipping ""

EEK!EEK!EEK!

Ninja's

Quick update:

This buyer has opened a case with eBay today after leaving me negative feedback.

I will update the outcome so be warned if you are selling to him.

Hey guys,

I tried to block these eBay users, but couldn't. This is the message I got from eBay.

Error: Invalid User IDslace_the_f**k_up : Invalid User Id
Error: Invalid User IDsCouscous94120 : Invalid User Id
Error: Invalid User IDsfriskydingouk : Invalid User Id
Error: Invalid User IDs*Bigdelboy09* : Invalid User Id

I have a hunch these are ninjas who changed their eBay identification.
Does anybody know their new names?

Did you put a comma in-between each name, like, this?

I googled their names and two names were mispelled. It is actually
bigdelboy09
couscous94120

The other two names say invalid id on their eBay page. They must have changed their name.

Think you must be doing something wrong. I just added the above two without any issues.

It should look like this

andrew4mitchell, bigdelboy09, blufan84, etc

friskeydingo changed his username. I don't have it in front of me. He was the jerkoff that was banned on here because he hustled me.

Maybe it's just me being sceptical, but the minute I won these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221206946897?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 I suspected that I wouldn't receive them as they sold for less than they're worth, lo and behold out of the 4 auctions I won from this seller, these are the only items I have yet to receive. He claims to have sent them on Friday along with the other 3 items I won (in a separate box) all of the other items arrived on Saturday yet the post has been today and these still haven't been delivered. Am I being overly sceptial, or do you guys think the same as me?

Did you ask the seller to email you the scanned copy for proof of posting receipt?

No, but just now after I'd asked him yesterday and today where the items are, he suddenly claims to have sent it via a trackable method, yet he never mentioned this once before, nor has he uploaded the tracking number to ebay. I've asked him to give me the tracking number as I believe he is BS'ing and trying to pull a fast one.
