IMO this is the nicest of the currently announced steelbooks.

How "edited" would this be compared to the American version?

This work was originally seen for advice. The company was advised that the film was likely to receive an 18 certificate but that their preferred 15 classification could be achieved by making cuts to reduce the violence in two scenes. When the finished version of the film was submitted for formal classification, edits had been made to reduce sequences of violence, including detail of a stabbing with a corkscrew and a garroting. The formal submission was consequently rated 15.

From what I gether is a few seconds of film that was cut

It was the film studios choice to go with 15 Cert for the UK
The censors passed the film for 18 Cert uncut

So it was down to sony picking 15 Cert over an 18 Cert

I don't know why they did not go with the 18 Cert version for the Blu Ray as it was already passed by BBFC Uncut

No one else got theirs yet? Mine arrived earlier... really nice glossy finish and debossing on "The Equalizer" title. Back art matches nicely with the front too... the only let down is the b&w interior. I can confirm it's the 15 rated version (132 mins) FYI. (n)

I'm surprised at this as it takes some doing for a film to get an 18 certificate in the UK nowadays; usually it requires extreme graphic violence, serial killing or sexual violence, surely this didn't have any of that did it?

The BBFC passed it uncut but gave it an 18 rating (the film's violence is quite graphic)

It was the studio that made the cuts to get a 15 Cert for the UK and give it a wider audience.

I'd be interested to know this as well, so I can swap out my disc.

Read that A Walk Among The Tombstones and Maze Runner were also cut!!!

Received my copy of this today, I love the way that it is bent and has a bit of steelbook poking through the J-Card....really nice finish and so unique..... Oh wait, it's not supposed to be like that? ZAVVI!!! :angry:Equalizer1.jpg
