The back is one of the iconic first illustrations from Evil Dead used for the original promotion of the movie.

totally agree with you its the perfect back art in my opinion, i also love the inside aswell.Got mine today and im really pleased with it such an iconic movie deserves this sort of treatment I just hope some more horror films get the steel treatment they deserve aswell!!

Except for the fact the girl in that photo/poster is not in the movie.

She was the girl from the small film they did called "Within the Woods".

I believe that's the poster but I could be wrong.

You may be right, I still think it would make a great artwork though even if it was just Ash on his own with the chainsaw!

Right, as promised just called The Hut regarding this farce and have some bad news I'm afraid. This will also apply to anyone who purchased from Zavvi as they are part of the same group for any other Sony titles (Hellboy, Ghostbusters, Evil Dead) in this wave.

The Hut/Zavvi are expecting these in on Thursday 15th November. I was told that there is a chance could be before. I then asked about the turn around and they said posted the next day and via standard delivery (not next day). I'm sure most are aware that they aren't the quickest in the delivery stakes either.

I then asked how the likes of Amazon/Play & others have this in and they don't and the first guy I spoke to kind of let it slip the real reason we are still waiting for these. He basically told me that these were ordered late by them, which makes sense.

I then spoke to a manager who told me that they're ordering from different supplier (she didn't really know to be perfectly honest), which ties in with the first reason.

So all in all, if you're in a rush to get these, I would advise cancelling your order and getting them from Amazon or Play.

I'm not in a rush for these, so will keep my order with them. Just glad I now know what's going on.

Just got this, great looking steel. Anyone done a side-by-side feature comparison with the U.S. limited edition? At first glance it appears to have the same stuff, just all on a single BD.

remakes which are better than the original don't exist, don't pass on this for that reason

This is one of those hit and miss films it's so low budget it's painfully to watch in places, the acting is dire, but the film is hilarious and defrost a classic, this steel is nice and good for the low price, but any more I'd of given it a miss. I bet the sequels won't get the same treatment.

Does anybody know if Japan released a Steelbook of the film? Socrates listed a Japan release of the film in a Steelbook and am wondering when did this happen? I checked Amazon.jp and couldn't find a listing or anything. Did this go under the radar?

We had a thread for it here. I've not seen a copy anywhere yet though. This must be like the Thing JP, very scarce.

£7.99 on Play at the moment. [Edit] Went to buy it and it's from Zaavi outlet via playtrade. The 7.99 deal was in a banner at the top of the main page at play. I didn't realize they advertised in banners for playtraders!?
