Well we keep finding more and more fans, garlad you are just adding to the group. So let's keep all football related content in this thread since we are small group of fans who actually follow we can't make threads that only one person will reply. Anyways Scott, Baliey, Dattebayo and myself all follow pro football. The same people in addition to Bravesfan and jrocca have/play FIFA09.

To answer your question from the other thread, yes I do follow. I don't have a particular team in the EPL, but I enjoy watching the games. However I am liking Liverpool this year, I think if they don't win it now they won't in a long time! they are finally reaching that talent threshold and it's their time! Torres is in a fantastic level and Benitez is having no issues with players so what else can I say? ManU is finally losing grip. Chelsea is a mess I think, they keep buying players and more players that bring a huge ego and that's why the teams is so inconsistent! the egos that team has will not let them find their rhythm. Arsenal has a relatively young team that will only get better and I keep reading everywhere that they might lose Fabregas this next summer....

I used to watch plenty of the Spanish league, but I lost GolTV which used to show all the games every weekend. Fox Sports channel now shows the EPL and the Serie A Italian league which is not bad, but not the same.

I guess the downfall of Barca was greatly exaggerated. Glad to see the guys go back to their old ways.
On a separate note you would have thought there was a great injustice done to Man U when they got knocked out. How come there wasn't this outcry when Milan benefitted from an obvious hand ball to score the first goal in Italy?

The mighty lions have had an awesome week, beating Blackburn to book our place in the FA cup semi's, with the mighty Wigan Lol only kidding!

Then beating the trainspotters/anoraks (Charlton) in their own turf AGAIN!!!

What a week wooohhhoooo

Barca had me on the edge of my seat. The defence did bend but thankfully did not break. IMO Batra should be given a real good look as a potential Puyol successor.

Visca Barca

I don't see how they could buy Thiago Silva.
PSG is not needing money, there's no reason why they would sell their best player.
I hope he will still be there last year :)

Silva is not and should not be a priority. First and foremost, PSG are not going to take a loss after 1yr of service. Secondly I think its more important for barca to have a player who is already tuned to their football philosophy. Chygrysky didn't work as he was a conventional defender. They need guys who are comfortable on the ball. Bartra could be it. Already in the system and didn't look bad at all vs Mallorca playing with tiny Adriano.

In attack, they need more direct play at times. This is where I miss Etoo. Ibra was the worst signing in recent history. Delofeu could possibly provide that. Bayern will be another stern test so till next week and hope for no more offside goals

I agree, but does Bartra resemble Puyol? Not by a long shot. They will seek experience over anything. Every outlet is pointing out Barca's achilles heel being defense. I hear you, but I am skeptical over Bartra making the top squad over an established center.

Neymar sounds like a waste of money to be honest, but it also sounds like Alexis time is running short. I mean the guy is a fantastic footballer, but boy has he had a bad spell. He has missed goals that are simply a push in. It's unbelievable how much he has dropped in performance. It's not lack of the ball, just simply not putting it in.

They need another left back too, I don't think Abidal will be here for another 3 yrs. The guy has been on a tremendous roller coaster and has been one of my favorite players, his character and professionalism is untouched. Thinking long term new replacement should be looked for.

Also, I am sure PSG don't need money, but you can buy anything and still not win anything. A player will get tired of that. Just look at Chelsea, took them luck and almost a billion dollars to win a CL and almost 10 years. Goes to show money doesn't buy you everything...

Moving on, did anyone see Suarez biting Ivanovic in today's game? haha that was hilarious! The EPL needs to ban that fool at least 10-15 games so he learns his lesson.

I agree finding a Puyi replacement will be difficult. Pique was also an unproven talent when Guardiola made him starting center alongside Puyol. I think a Bartra Pique partneship needs to be explored. Also wouldnt Abidal partnering Pique as that has been proven to be a stable partnership before. In all because of the way Barca play, they are always and will always have issues against the counter as both fullbacks are usually in attack mode.

On leftback, they have Jordi Alba and an Alves replacement in Martin Montoya.

Bigger issue is who will replace Valdes if he leaves????

Neymar IMO is all show without the goods. I mean the guy seems to look for alot of protection from refs all the time. I am not convinced of him at all.

Suarez doesnt really help his image with all the diving and utter rubbish on the pitch today. Never been a reds fan but I kinda feel for the club as they try to navigate this new controversy.

That 3rd goal by Bayern should of been a foul. I reiterate, Bartra can't handle the pressure. We need an experienced center. We can't be waiting for kids to show up to the big games. Valdez needs to go, he is not reliable anymore, hasn't been in the past season or two. He has made some good saves here and there, but he is nowhere near the level he was 3-4 seasons ago.
