Well we keep finding more and more fans, garlad you are just adding to the group. So let's keep all football related content in this thread since we are small group of fans who actually follow we can't make threads that only one person will reply. Anyways Scott, Baliey, Dattebayo and myself all follow pro football. The same people in addition to Bravesfan and jrocca have/play FIFA09.

To answer your question from the other thread, yes I do follow. I don't have a particular team in the EPL, but I enjoy watching the games. However I am liking Liverpool this year, I think if they don't win it now they won't in a long time! they are finally reaching that talent threshold and it's their time! Torres is in a fantastic level and Benitez is having no issues with players so what else can I say? ManU is finally losing grip. Chelsea is a mess I think, they keep buying players and more players that bring a huge ego and that's why the teams is so inconsistent! the egos that team has will not let them find their rhythm. Arsenal has a relatively young team that will only get better and I keep reading everywhere that they might lose Fabregas this next summer....

I used to watch plenty of the Spanish league, but I lost GolTV which used to show all the games every weekend. Fox Sports channel now shows the EPL and the Serie A Italian league which is not bad, but not the same.

It was a easier win than the score suggested :) Delph was super human and totally bossed the middle of the park although I felt Everton and Baines in particular tried to take him out a few times, can't believe Baines got away with it. Clattenburg had a shocker and to think he was mentioned to ref the Cup Final :s

Thanks Dave @whysoserious? for the nice comments, Your team had 2 five minute spells at the start and end of the first half both resulting in a goal, we did our normal not do anything easy as we are Villa and almost threw it away!

Paul, we are second tier Trinity Road right behind the Prawn sarnie bunch for Burnley looking of HDE shoulder ;) let us know if you go

Would be great to see Newcastle go down again, but Sod's law, with Leicester and Sunderland winning yesterday, it means we are still in the mix :(

Howdy Ron :) Long time no speak!

Are you going this afternoon? I haven't been to many games this season, which hasn't been a bad thing until Lamberk was sacked ;)

Have you seen this video:

You know, up until a few months ago, my wife didn't really "get" my thing with the Villa, but my old ma came down to see us with a bunch of photographs to show the wife and my daughters (as they do) but it was seeing those photos of the "villa mad" son of hers and hearing how I used to sneak in the holte for 10 minutes when I was 9, made them all understand.... It's in my blood :)

As for the Fa cup tickets, Ron, they are going for silly money. Some bloke I know told me about someone willing to pay 7 grand for 10 tickets. Shocking.

If I do hear anything though mate, I will let you know. (I drive to wembley so there's a free lift if you find some too!)

We should try and do a villa home game soon. That would be great

UTV

Fantastic video Paul, we don't choose Aston Villa, Aston Villa chooses you

Still struggling for Cup Final tickets any help WOULD be appreciated from ANYONE :)

So happy my Chelsea won the league,

Congrats to Chelsea also. Best team over the course of the season by quite some distance.

In terms of Villa, if Hull don't beat Burnley this weekend, I'd say we're safe. How awesome would it be retain PL status and win a cup?

I know its a cliché but the table doesn't lie. The season is over 38 games. If you are in the bottom 3, you deserve to get relegated. Same if you're at the top, you deserve it.
My team, United has made progress since last seasons debacle! Already looking forward to see what next season brings for us!

i think United will never be the same without Fergie, he was United, and after the absolute humilation caused by Moyes, LVG is not much better. The problem is they have lost the United way. It was never about buying hugely expensive players, they have spent more in the last two seasons that Fergie ever did and for what, a top 4 finish, really was Di-maria a good buy at £60m, i dont think so. They threw away so many important and players with potential for big money signings, its a shame but the club as a whole has lost its way. I feel bad for RVP i truly feel had he known Fergie was going to leave a year later after he sold him this family of a club, he probably wouldnt have gone. He has been so miserable since,

I agree about Di Maria and RVP.
However, I do believe LVG can turn things around. There will never be another Fergie but things are looking up.
This season, United have played well against the big teams. Much improved on the previous season!

Totally don't agree with the word humiliation, moyes did not get the money lvg had and up to January this year moyes had better record than a manager who spent about £180 million on players this season , and when u look at the players that are shinning for Utd at the moment , 2 stand out , mata and Felliani , and who signed them?
None other than Mr Moyes
Moyes may not have been big enough for Utd , but fergie dropped him in it with ageing players and players that did not want to play for moyes , think humiliation very harsh indeed

Fergie himself clearly for whatever reason was dumped by Utd, he had many plans for the following season and it's not known exact facts surrounding his departure, a lot of excuses etc but we were at a legends game at Ibrox which Fergie came all the way up to but while there at halftime got called to a meeting and went all the way back to manchester at half time. His ghostwriter was the only person to mention this meeting. It was strange that amongst his friends and players he wouldn't have stayed for the dinner happening that night at Ibrox. I believe for whatever reason he was asked to step down. His own brother didn't know and I don't believe the gentlemen that Fergie is he would have not told even relatives and the day before the announcement, Paddy Crerand tore a radio station a new one for even suggesting that Fergie was leaving and talked of all the future plans.

The obvious dislike he had for Moyes makes me laugh that people really believe that Fergie would choose (be made to say he chose) such an inept manager, no trophies, no real European experience. It was a major humiliation that he was even chosen as manager. The amount of incredible records that Fergie had built up ( with the same teams, so it makes me laugh with people criticising that team, they just won the league) they didn't suddenly become rubbish they just and I don't blame them, these players had more medals and trophies that Moyes had not dinners so of course they didn't respect him and thus I believe proceed to get him gone as soon as they could. The terrible records that they racked up in that one season was shocking.

LVG buying all these expensive players is not the answer, the feel good factor and hope that came over United and the fans when Giggs took over for those few games before LVG, yes he didn't have the managerial experience but he was as close to United after Fergie could be, he knew the United way and I think would have been a better choice to stay on as manager.

But each to their own ;)

Yeah well all I will say to that what u just wrote is , it's utter nonsense about fergie being pushed out , I'll leave it at that cuz utter nonsense is getting typed in now

Well you obviously don't know anything about the situation and someone who writes the word 'cuz' really should not deem anyone else's comments to be nonsense.

It is a shame, I expected a decent reply, I thought we were having an interesting debate, ah well.

Well if u had been diplomatic about the moyes situation and not dismissed the fact that players where involved in making moyes job worse and saying he's a poor manager then it might have been a different conversation, we will never know how good he is or isnt .

I'm obviously out of my depth here BECAUSE I used the word CUZ , wow well done Mr intelligent
Didn't expect nothing else from a Chelsea fan if I'm honest

Why would I tell a lie, Moyes is one of the worst managers that exists. How Everton stuck him for 11 years with nothing and within the first season with Roberto they get into Europe.

I am glad you have realised that you are out of your depth and I am far too intelligent to converse with you.

I have never been a fence sitter, so let me be the first to say your last sentence was way out of line.

There is a very thin line between intelligence and arrogance.

A difference of opinion, or the way someone types a conversation does not mean they have a higher or lower level of intelligence than someone else.

Exactly that is my opinion, Moyes should never have been near the Utd job and as I said he wasted so many records and that's a fact.

To be honest I don't know who either of you are and don't really care if you think what I said was out of line or not. I was insulted purely for being a chelsea fan.

This wasn't involving you so why you felt the need to jump in I don't know but I am finding it all very tedious now, so let's just move on mate eh? ;)

Moving on, strong links that Bale is coming back to the PL interesting idea.

I think if ur intelligent enough to have this debate , u should realise that moyes got Everton into Europa league twice and champions league qualifiers once and was the 1st manager to brake the so called top 4 up by finishing 4th .
So do ur research , I've followed English football since 80s and not since 00s like u Chelsea fans when a Russians millions bought u titles , cfc =big in budget , small in history

I appreciate you replying in the manner that you did and I am always happy to hear opinions of fans from all over.

You may not have intended it, but you were very imposing with your opinion on Fergie and David Moyes and its always going to be a topic up for debate.

whysoserious is a big Everton fan, so will be able to form an opinion more than most on Moyes. He was out of his depth with Man United, but not as bad as people made out.

I think that what was meant by the Chelsea fan comment is that they are well known for their superiorty complex.

That's not a dig at you and more of an explanation of what people say.

I was hoping you would see my point about your previous post.

We all get annoyed at times, but its not nice when it gets personal.

whysoserious is a very decent bloke and a passionate football fan, so it's a shame you have fallen out, as that passion for our teams makes for a good debate.

We do not know each other so can't fall out, my mate is an Everton fan and was dancing in the street when Moyes left he always said they suffered so long with no trophies and mediocre football and he couldn't believe he got picked to take over a club with so many trophies and was so far out of his depth it was embarrassing. My brother is an Utd fan and was mortified at him taking over and it was an awful season for anyone involved.

As I said I'm bored of all this and would like to just move on.

What you think of Bale back in the PL?
