Mine was received from HMV all minty fresh as usual. I watched Saturday night. This movie rocks. The opening credits have to be the best I have ever seen IMO. Plus Karen O was amazing as well as the rest of the soundtrack. So glad I got this

Got mine today and the same dings that other members have complained about are all here:( the HMV cardboard was in Mint condition no sign of damage. The Steelbook has all the dings on the back of it:(

Not had the chance to watch this yet, bought on a blind buy but when it's Fincher you normally can't go wrong

Totally agree about the credits music (would have preferred the original mind) but imho whilst there are parts of this film that are more faithful to the book than the Swedish version, the overall feel wasn't as dark as the original which was more faithful to the book in that context. I'd rate it 6.5/10 as opposed to nearer 8/10 for the Swedish version. I still enjoyed it.

I saw this in the cinema and watched it again on the weekend. I liked it even more the second time around. Not seen the Swedish version which is probably why I rate this one so highly.

Still not opened up mine and watched it yet, I guess I'm too scared to find any hidden dings, but really looking forward watching it as I really enjoyed the original one ;)

Mine had no dents on the front but it was all on the back behind the data sheet. Certainly manufacturing related as there the data card had no glues.

I am losing interest on sealed Steelbooks nowadays.
Sorry to hear that bud, that really sucks, what to do with mine now, open or not :ohno:

I looked through a bunch of them in HMV yesterday and all looked fine - at least as far as I could tell as they were all sealed obviously. Yet all my mailed copies had damages. Careless packing or a bad batch in the warehouse? Hard to say..

I got mine the other week. I like how the postman just pushes it through the letterbox and you just here steel fall onto the ground with no bubble wrap protection, yikes!

Thanks again to Lgans for posting the thread about this Steelbook. Since we've a chance to comment for over a week or so, about whether any dings and dents seem to be from shipping or at the manufacturer level, the threads have been merged. Please feel free to continue commenting in the main GWTDT thread here. Thanks all!

well i work for a large retailer and the way the come packaged just from the distributors makes me wonder how anyone gets anything like this undamaged trust me they put no protection inside the boxes or on the outside to protect the cases, think ill drop by hmv and look through them :)
