We have received direct info that North America may still get a Steelbook. I am assigning a 'USA' flag for good karma but there is no confirmation-it could still appear in Canada, as well. If it does happen at all, there is a good possibility that it will be a G2. Art is very likely to be the same/similar 'country-wide' (like 'Salt').

No other info regarding retailer or other info is available at this time. If more info becomes available, that can be released we will post it.As usual, all info is subject to change as decisions are made at various levels.

Thanks,

I totally agree with you DB on the larger scale of why the US should release steelbooks. I was strickly saying how I feel about cookie cutter multi-country steels. Sure I'd love to see the market grow in the US, BUT I'd like to see it have it's own version(s).

Yes!! The last Wal Mart Steel was Battle L.A. right?

~Either way I'd buy one just to support Steels in the USA.

correct, The last one was Battle los Angeles, before that was Resident Evil Quadrilogy and RE Degeneration. Can't remember if there was another besides Scarface, which Wally and BB got it.

Please be true! I might still keep my UK pre-order if this is a US exclusive and has similar cover art compared to the UK one. If this is also a Canadian release then goodbye HMV UK pre-order. ;)

I actually liked the original Swedish version of this film better, but I liked the american version as well. And I would definitely buy it whether it's released in the U.S. or Canada. Of course, I would need help to get it from Canada. (from Biscuit or Drum :canada:)

Hey S7v7n-absolutely-more USA 'Exclusives' with different covers would be fantastic!:scat:

It would be nice to see it released in the states, but it doesn't matter to me. I've already pre-ordered the copy from Europe. It's gotten to the point where I don't even expect steelbooks to be released state side.

It would be nice to be able to go to the store and pick one up rather than having to import one and hope that it arrives safe. With all the disposable money people spend in this country you would think we would see more of these out there.

Guinness-buying releases in the US, when we do get them helps send the message of demand as they say $ talks, and BS walks, LOL). And it increases the likelihood that other studios consider releases for the US (and will consider Exclusives, etc). Fingers crossed,

Every chance to buy one in the states I do. It just seems like with all of the other special releases we get you would think there would be more steelbooks

Yes, the fact that Steelbooks continue to gain popularity, overall, will hopefully make more US film fans excited about Steels in the US-definitely excited that we show support.

Wouldn't it be so nice if we could do what most everyone else in the forum can already do; drive to the store and pick up some steelbooks. The thought of it just makes me wanna

That doesn't make any sense to me. Why not buy enough to open one of them. They look better naked anyway.

iono why i just always buy one steel and one regular release maybe because i keep my collections separate where they never mingle.

but i have found myself buying more steels in groups like you suggested above which is bad for the wallet :ohno:

But if its a U.S. steel its usually the same price as the amaray. :scat:
