Seem's to be a lot of boring, dull steel's kicking around at the moment maybe it is catering for those who say 'I'D RATHER HAVE A RUBBISH STEELBOOK THAN AN AMARAY, AS IT'S STILL A STEELBOOK. If those are your standard's then there is no problem with that AS YOU ARE BEING WELL CATERED FOR. I bought this and many other's hoping that I would be receiving a gem and have been let down many times, how many contenders are there for BEST steel of the year? and now how many contenders are there for WORST steel of the year? This is all subject to opinion, I know, so before you all line up to give me a kicking, this simply my opinion, it is neither right or wrong.

I'm Just coming from the point of view that a lot of release's seem to have an 'It'll do, it's okay, not bad' etc feel to them, case in point the 'Departed' Zavvi release, it'll do but it could have been AWESOME...

I kinda had a feeling it would happen but I actually received two steelbooks today (Moon and The Road) that I ordered on the 27th of December. So I got them before 'The Guest' which was apparently dispatched on the 23rd of December. Heh. I'm tickled by that.

I hear really good things about this movie, but I am put off knowing its the same director that did You're Next. Is it worth a blind buy?

after 40 min of this film I was really surprised (in good way) but after that I think they lose proportion and chance of making a good movie. You can watch this without regrets but you never gonna watch this movie second time-IMO. If you want buy this steel for a film -not worth it for this price.

I will have to disagree in my opinion. This movie was superb and kept me interested till the end of the credits. I have already seen it twice and I cannot wait to see it again. It really depends on the person and what kinda films you like. It definitely has a Drive vibe from it and the music was amazing, acting was great too. I really loved this movie and cannot wait for the steelbook to be in my hands.

An absolute great choice for a blind buy as B-Movies are freakin awesome in my opinion. All up to you make the choice for yourself!!!

I wouldn't go that far to compare this film to Drive. They have big chance do something special but they take wrong direction in second half of this film . Drive I've be watching every 2 -3 years , I wish I can say same abut this one. In first a half of this film was spot on , after that they just lost harmony on script. Was to much Terminator (Rise of machins)than Drive as @UpsetSmiley state . But this only my opinion . Still worth to watch mate;)

Stumbled upon this interview a while ago that gives a little backstory/info on the film... and what the directors were trying to do with it really. Whilst there are some in this topic/thread who think it didn't work... I personally think they succeeded :)

“I was having this double feature of watching The Terminator and Halloween back to back, just revisiting some of my favorites one night, and not only did I realize that those movies personify the type of movie I want to make I also love the idea of making a Halloween movie that is like an inverted Michael Meyers. Instead of it being this ominous shape that’s always in the shadows, it’s the exact opposite. It’s the guy that’s good looking and friendly and you’re friends with him and he lives in your house but there’s something kind of – there’s still something ominous about him because you actually never know what he’s thinking at any point in the film. But at the end of the day my initial pitch was, because the way Simon and I work is, you know, in terms of the story aspects my part really ends just in terms of talking to Simon about the type of film I want to make, and in the case of The Guest, I was like essentially what if Michael Meyers was The Terminator, and I pitched him more like kind of an android thing and Simon was able to take that and kind of take that and ground it more.”

Chuffed to bits to receive this today. It's very much a film that I'm pleased to own since it was one of my favourites from last year. I do like the steelbook too. It's simple... but effective and quite atmospheric in my opinion.

Watched this last night and I enjoyed it, the humour is just right and it throws a twist on the old story which was nice to see. I can see where people are comparing it to Drive, the first 30 minutes does feel a bit like it and my wife even commented on it & she is no movie buff.
The thing that I liked most about it is that it doesn't take itself too seriously but one question how does Lance Reddick keep getting work, he tries to ruin every scene that he is in.
The steel itself is ok, a little on the plain side, nothing to really say about it but better than an amaray :)

But Lance Reddick is responsible for the best part of the film - when he asks for directions through the maze. Heh :)

All the pics I've seen in this thread are all "unboxed".

Anybody got shots of the steelbook with the jcard? Front/back. And maybe the Disc as well?
OH. and is this region B confirmed? Thanks guys!
