The Canadian version is not as rare as the US. There may have been fewer of them out there, but you could still find them in stores, not like the US ones.

As for TFA, the situation is reversed. Lots of copies in the US, but in Canada my city was sold out at 11 AM.

Doesn't make any sense that the U.S version is rarer. U.S has 10x the population, thus 10x the potential customers, therefore, 10x the product has to go to the U.S. But don't take my word for it. Go to eBay and see how many Cdn HMV versions that is up for bid (0). And how many U.S BB version is up for bid (20). So who knows, maybe the Cdn version may be 20x rarer than its U.S counterpart.
