This is the one to get IMO, wish I had pre-ordered this one first instead of the mocking jay version while that sale was one awhile back. Oh well, will pony up the dough I guess!

Really like the embossing, and it feels more exclusive that its online only not in stores, wonder what the thinking behind that was... was it a lower print run or what?

I really can't wait to get my hands on this.

At first I was very excited about the Mocking Jay edition, but now I just can't wait to get this one.

Steelbook had over done the debossing AND embossing requirement, so it's interesting to just see one over the other, like we used to have on some of those first run Media Markt steels like Death Race.

I believe so - unlike the Paramount steelbooks, like Thor or Captain America, which were first debossed (hence the border that depressed the art) and then embossed on the lettering.

Previously we have heard from steelbook that you could not do one without the other, so a bit of surprise to see this edition with only the one of them.

I would say the D12 is the one to get as its can only be ordered through futureshop.ca website, it will not be sold in stores (in canada at least).

As far as other countries getting this art, who knows, time will tell.

The UK has gotten a similar type of the Mocking Jay edition.

With the debossing, online only, and unique artwork, I think the D12 is the one to get.

D12 is without a doubt the one to get. By the time Catching Fire is released in cinemas next year this steelbook will be highly sought after. That's just my opinion and based on several things. Firstly this artwork is unique and exclusive to FS and the fact that it has 'District 12' written on the front is awesome for fans. Secondly the movie is excellent and did very well at the box office, thirdly the books have a huge fanbase, fourthly I have read all three books and I can recognise that this franchise is going to get a lot bigger and better.

There are no guarantees of course and alot depends on whether this artwork gets re-used, however I'm feeling pretty confident this one will rise in value.
