So I guess having an opinion lands one labels such as the above Mr. Doom & Gloom and Zavvi hater. I wholly heartedly detest these labels and name calling

At the end of the day, any forum without opinions would be boring. On the flip side, expressing the same opinions over and over can earn you a reputation (I should know, I can't count the number of times I have been called 'negative' on this forum). I think the best thing to do is just to reign in the criticism ever so slightly, take a second before posting a flippant comment and then we can all get along without name calling

I've decided to draw a line under my opinion about Zavvi as it's pretty clear that they divide the opinion of Steelbook collectors and neither party will be persuaded to change their opinion. Hopefully it will make for more pleasant reading for myself and of course for other forum members.

I know for a fact I would have been filling my boots with all the Zavvi steels, had I not come across HDN. In the last 3 Months I have acquired steels from all corners of the globe. Thanks to this forum.

I remember a time (before my bank account was having cold sweats) when I used to walk into HMV to see if any new steels had been released. I was very much a casual consumer. Browsing HMV now is just a chore, I know I'm not going to find anything, but I still go through the motions and look.

There are just so many other options now, over the likes of Zavvi. It's so easy to pass on most of their steels. Though having said that I still have a fair few pre-order's with them, so there still doing something right.

I do happen to like both movies but haven't watched either In years. Hopefully they'll look much nicer on blu ray since both are getting on a bit now. The price is a bit meh, but the vibrant colours make it worth a punt.

Same reason people always feel the need to tell everyone that their copy has "shipped" I guess...I don't get it either. Just clogging up these threads with useless posts.

"Feedback" is the point that people make comments such as "I'm cancelling". We have seen people offer feedback that art is wrong, and it gets corrected.

My guess is that if this steel was 14.99 that we would see far less comments on cancelling. References to Aladdin price simply alerts Zavvi as to,what is acceptable and what is not

No different from all the ones saying Ordered! when something is released....

This is a discussion forum afterall, so folks comment on things they have bought, or not bought...granted a 1 word post isnt stimulating a discussion, but when someone preorders or cancels something and shares their reasons why it can sometimes throw up some interesting debates on artwork choices, placement of titles (or lack of) etc, I agree in part that it may seem like folks raining on the parade of an upcoming release...

...Im keeping my preorder although Id like to see some rear and inside artwork, its one of my bug bears about zavvi, (and sometimes other retailers) that they have a lack of real info so close to release of these editions, not just artwork but disk content etc, even films you know can feel like a blind buy as your not totally sure what your buying, which can be annoying

EDIT - Cancelled!! Same art as amaray is a turn off
