Mines not arrived yet but reading back I'm dredding a possible spine slash or dent or chip. After the back artwork disappointment (for me) and now possibly this. Hopefully arrives tomorrow

The embossing on mine is slightly out with the picture :(

That's so annoying. That happened with my Aladdin and Finding Nemo, hope it doesn't happen to me this time. Better with no embossing then. However, that's not Zavvi's fault. I wonder if Zavvi is aware of this problem at all? Or even most collectors, as I hardly ever hear anyone here ranting over this

To whoever said they hope TLM will have an interesting back: I'd put money on it being blue and that's it. I like Flounder and Sebastian but it won't happen. I hope they emboss the title and leave Ariel alone.

Front and inside are fantastic! Back doesn't look extremely awful since you can make out the jungle in there (although very faintly it seems)... but honestly, it is a missed opportunity. Look at the artwork on the j-card. Remove the movie info and the tiny box pics and imagine the backdrop artwork from the j-card on the actual steel. That would have been amazing!

Let's say I was in charge of this. That's exactly what I'd have done.

At any rate, overall it's a nice looking steel and the jungle green is beautiful.

The fact that spine slashing is still happening on a massive scale is 1000% unbelievable. With all the returns, all the complaints, all the money lost, you'd think that by now, somebody woulda stuck a dam piece of cardboard between the box and the spines and gotten a promotion.

Here is the best way to sum up my feelings on the matter ---> :wtf:

Imo it gets close to impossible these days to get a 100% prestine steelbook. I'd say 70-80% of all steels have some flaws. Paintchips, scratches you can tell only in some crazy lighting, inaccurat embossing and so on. If you keep em sealed (what id never do) you wont be that dissapointed with todays quality issues. Or do yourself a favour and dont look for em ;)

At least 10-20 of my steels had some minor to serious issues underneath the j-card or became vissible when removing the shrink.

Its annoying as hell

My embossing seems slightly off vertically, but nothing like as bad as some of the pics. Got a nice paint chip on the back, but considering how faint the back cover is, at least the chip stands out.
