My copy arrived yesterday, and I opened it today. Was relieved to discover it's in mint condition after receiving two damaged copies of Close Encounters of the Third Kind!

The embossing in my steelbook doesn't match the image, you can see the embossing effects is shifted to one side of the image.

It looks weird. But I would have to convince myself that it isn't that bad.

a few people have reported that mate, if they can't even do embossing right then they shouldn't bother, and I don't mean zavvi before anyone starts whining

Amen. Im not ocd but everytime I look at this steel I look at the corners of the embossing.

I received my Jungle Book today
Perfect condition no spine slash and no scratches
embossing looks ok to me on mine
(I have not taken out my magnifying glass to look close to find something)
its looks fantastic to me

Finally recieved my copy. There are no chips and the embossing is fine but I do have a faint spine slash and also my spine picture is a little to the left. Never seen that before. Amazing artwork just a bit annoyed about the plain back and no bagheera!

Got mine today and not happy. The embossing is off and its got a nice big paint chip and scratch at the top. Going back for a refund as I really don't wanna go through the hassle of the replacement being worse. Also it seems Zavvi's packaging has downhill. Got an extreamly tight fitting box with hardly any padding. Almost as bad as the old HMV boxes.

Admittedly though it is a nice steel when in hand. Slightly envious of those who got a mint copy

sorry to hear.. but the box + foam are the same as always... and i guess if the shrinkwraps intact, then the damage has been done before shipping

I agree. Can't blame Zavvi for the defects but the packaging is awful. I send out steels in much better packaging. I'd be so worried about the steel being damaged in the post.
