It is a nice Steelbook but the whole 'loyalty reward' thing is nothing more than a gimmick to shift some old stock.

It is maybe. But they did create a nice release with full slip and extra's in a low print run. That is what collector's like right? And it has been a while since there was a low print run release. Was whiplash the last one under 750? I'm not sure. Anyway, it does seem like a nice release for collector's. And seeing as filmarena has gotten pretty popular in de collector's community, this seems exactly what they claim it to be; a nice "reward" for the biggest FA collector's. I just wish i found out about them sooner. I had to buy most of their releases through eBay. But got lucky with a still collectible nummer under the 1500s

That's the thing though there are plenty of BIGGER collectors out there that won't get the chance to buy this one. I don't own every single FA release, never have. I only bought the films I like. But yet there are those that have bought every edition that will never get the chance to buy this at cost price via the GB or FA website. Hence going back to my point, making this release more desirable and actually a proper collectors item. Basically if you're smart you will keep this one sealed as it will be one of those rare gems like HDZetas Man from Uncle.

And going back to my point, If i am lucky enough to snatch up a copy for myself I will know I should keep it sealed but won't

Good luck to us all tomorrow!

This will sky rocket in value as previous customers of FA that purchased from Karel were asked whether they wanted a copy via a lottery system. So not all collectors will have the opportunity to buy one. Which in turn means out of the collectors that didn't get the chance to buy (some of whom are bound to be hardcore completionists) will pay top dollar for it in the second hand market. Thus making this product more of an investment once purchased.

I never reason like that. I'm not into reselling, or calculating the increasing/decreasing value of the steelbooks in my collection.

I just stated the simple fact that FilmArena is over-pricing this release, like they are over-pricing Everest, by 100 CZK. It's not my opinion, it's based on the prices of previous releases and the content of those FAC editions.

If this Last Stand edition had a bonus disc on top of the rest, I could understand the 699 CZK price tag.

If this Last Stand edition had a lenti magnet on top of the rest, I could understand the 699 CZK price tag.

It has neither. Taking into account the pricing of FilmArena's releases over the past 12 months, 599 CZK was the correct pricing for this edition. And for such a "special reward just for fans" release, it's bizarre that it's more expensive than other releases with equivalent content.

By that reasoning of "it's so rare, people are gonna kill themselves on eBay to get it, hahaha!", if FilmArena had decided to limit this Last Stand edition to 250 copies instead of 500, they could have priced it at 799 CZK instead of 699 CZK? Limited to 100 and they price it at 899 CZK? Come on.

I am happy to get it though, I said "YES" to the email, but I was looking to see the pricing pattern between FAC editions depending on the content, and I just wanted to point out that The Last Stand is over-priced (and like i said, in a few instances they seem to have under-priced some releases like Chappie - I'm not complaining about that obviously :D).

So stoked for this release!!!! :woot: The fullslip looks frickin' AWESOME and the package as a whole, SWEET! :hungry: Like others mentioned, a lenti would have been nice but beggars can't be choosers

The fact I don't even own this on blu-ray yet which makes this even more special to me... Many thanks to @carllenc and @Collector03601 for their valid input with this release... :notworthy: Seriously cannot wait guys!!!! :oohyeah:

If it's done on a regular basis then I would tend to agree with you.

If FA was to regularly dress up its unsold stock in this manner then it would certainly be the equivalent of debasing the currency. However, if done on an occasional basis then I personally don't have a problem.

One other Czech Steelbook that FA seem to have had difficulty shifting is "The Wolf of Wall Street" which they still have in stock nearly two years after its release on 21/05/14. Since it offers world exclusive artwork, I personally wouldn't object if FA was to add a full slip and some other extras and include it in the FAC.

I would love to get The Wolf of Wall Street FAC at some point. I once asked about it and the answer was.

Dear Sir,

we are very sorry but we don´t have more information now. if we will have
some information we will add them into our websites.

Best regards,

Looks like they have changed the info. The waiting list wont be available in about an hour. Looks like only those with 1-500 numbers will be able to order. Whatever left over stock is left will be next tuesday. Wont be much is my guess but we will see.

At a guess there are probably already at least 150 people signed up for carllenc's group buy (via a pre-group buy PM sent out here), so it definitely won't be 500 copies available via FilmArena's site.

right and FA even said they are only going to offer it to SOME of the 1-500 people based on what those have ordered. Really hard to judge availability for this one.
