Why do steelbook collector go crazy about some movies for kids?

Sure, we watched those classics when we were kids, but they stood the test of time in terms of story and animation. The lion king i.e. is one of the best movies I've ever seen. It definitely deals with some adult subjects like friendship, loyalty or betrayal.

So, while Disney does produce a lot kids movies, not all of them are movies (only) for kids
