What do we think print run on Thai must be? Still 10K? It's taking an awful long time to sell out, especially considering the email they set as mentioned above.

It's now a month since Zavvi's 'last chance to buy' email and there was under 1k left.

They must have had a lot of cancellations.

gues its a general problem, with all these releases people think twice of buying multiple copies and what they really need. taxi driver was also weeks ago announced to having less than 500 copies in stock and it's still available.

To be fair, I'm not justifying zavvi but disney films are normally very expensive anyway

That is a very good point and it is not like it is a new thing or a UK specific one either Disney has always been expensive, too expensive if you ask me.

But I am getting really fed up with how Disney treat their consumers especially the British. Over the years I have had to buy US editions as the quality and content over here just hasn't been good enough.

Getting back to topic though and I have preorder an I'm looking forward to it as I've never seen it and if the quality of the steel is anything like Alladin then it should be good.

Now if they can just produce one for Robin Hood then I will be ecstatic, my favourite Disney movie when I was a child, though it may have something to do with Terry Thomas being in it :)

Not true
Disney titles were always £10-£15 on release.
Its only since these high price steels that amerey counterpart prices seem to increase - I believe they are still £20+ all all online retailers and although have decreased since being listed, they have yet to show any sign of dropping to the prices prior releases would be.

Agree with this though.
Content was always like for like - when they were pushing the BR format - but the last few years, since The Incredibles was releases I believe, is when content REALLY dropped for the UK, and not just with regards to slipcases either

I'm SOOOO pissed that the UK isnt even getting a 3D release for this movie yet the US is

Im still waiting for this to sell out lol

+1 lol

Relax, 3D is overrated and only temporary ;-)

Sorry but it is true when it comes to their classic animated movies and going all the way back to DVD and even further back to Video where Disney used to release their movies once a blue moon and charge a hell of a lot for it.

you've clearly not seen how well Disney did with The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast then ;)
(for serious though)

um, no it isnt true! I promise you, I'm not making this up.
I've personally purchased all the classics on DVD (even have about 10 still on VHS), and I'm currently upgrading them to blu-ray one by one and have NEVER paid as much as the 2 forthcoming diamonds are worth.
I think the BATB and TLK DVD's may have been pushing the £18-£20 mark for the boxsets, but the standard editions on DVD never breached £15 (both of which were 2 disc editions as standard, same with many of the vault tiles, ie Lady and the Tramp, Bambi, The Jungle Book etc)
Blu's are the same, always around the £15 mark, though I admit I've not purchased a UK Disney title (except Monsters Inc and Aladdin) since Tarzan last March/April, opting instead for the superior US versions, but have been closely following the releases in hopes of being able to opt for the UK version again at some point.

Unless your talking ebay and amazon marketplace, in which case the Disney vault does help to inflate prices there by 'retiring' certain titles. But retailers only do a trick of putting titles back to full price just before a Disney BOGOF so you think 2 titles for £15 is a goo deal when chances are you could have got the titles for £8 each not long ago, meaning its not really a BOGOF (the last two years, so last 3 BOGOF's have seen many retailers doing this.)
Still though, the retail prices were still lower than the £20(+) being asked for The Jungle Book and The Little Mermaid
