Get a small bottle of "Sticky Stuff Remover" works really well, removes the glue completely and doesn't harm the steelbook in any way.
The glue is not a problem on the steelbook itself that comes of easily

Its the Jcard that's the problem to get the glue of that cleanly is not easy its sticks everywhere its mad glue they used

Another one that's turned up with a dull Matt finish, that would have been utterly stunning in high gloss. I thought zavvi had finally got it after the uproar over the Disney steel books, with zavvi finally listening and getting us gloss, I thought the latest batch of movies would follow suit. Boy was I wrong. Both this and A.I are such dissapoitnments as both would have been real beauties in gloss. Again this one suffers from embossed ridges for no reason whatsoever, sigh. The only saving grace is that the transfer is excellent.

StifflersDad has a real issue with people questioning the quality of the finish. Take a chill pill man! In my opinion it's disappointing.

I bought it, I'm happy to have a steelbook of The Mask and I'm not expecting to see anyone else release this in steelbook. But it's a thoughtless lacklustre steelbook nonetheless.

Works on the Jcard to. Just a drop or two on a cloth and wipe gently, works really well.

from zero to hero...

he worked in a bank, had an apartment, a car, even a dog.. either this is the 90's idea of a loser, or the writer was totally disconectted from reality.

in 2015 you are lucky to stack a shelf in tesco.let alone all the other luxuries ipkiss has...

anyway, the steel is nice but the finish could have been better

Remember seeing this in the cinema all those years ago, watched it a dozen or so times after that but haven't seen it in a long time. Glad to see I can still get myself a copy!

You're wrong, it's a very good matte finish.
Everyone has an opinion, I think this is a missed opportunity.
I wish Warner would be more consistent with their catalog releases you just don't know what you are going to get from them and they have done better Matte jobs than this one.

It wasnt the life Stanley had. It focused more on the person that he was. Stanley was a nobody. A nice guy as they said. And nice guys finished last. When he found the Mask of Loki, it made him mischievous but he got everything he ever wanted including popularity and the girl hence he became the hero.

The moral of the story however is how Stanley tries to prove this wrong and ultimately shows the audience at the end that nice guys finish first. :)

*spoilers*

i dont know if all his problems were to do with how he saw himself, although that had a lot to do with it.

but the film depicts in many scenes that stanley is viewed as nothing- his landord doesnt respect him,the people who fix his car treat him with contempt, his boss at work speaks to him like dirt etc so he is subject to all these things which indicate he is seen to be a loser. its not just a problem with how he sees himself.

when he tries to enter the exclusive club with his friend, he is refused entry and literally thrown to the curb, so its not just people who know him who have a low view of him, he is generally treated like a loser by everyone from all walks of life.

of course we all know he is a decent guy, but the film portrays him as a loser, which as i said in my previous reply is far fetched considering he has job security (a respectable one too), a roof over his head, a car and pet . in any case, the moral of the story seems to be: without a woman/love interest, you are a loser. since in the end that is the only thing he gained. he didnt go after the bad guys because they were going to rob banks, blow up clubs and take over the city, he was only interested in the girl.

i guess its not a film with a deep message, its just a bit of fun, but yeh...
