Here us a slight guide to the way I glossed mine ok here's what I used

A gravity fed spray gun

Then I used some accelerator and clear coat which I use when I spray cars also added is a slight but if thinners I think it's 2 to 1

The steels are wiped over with cleaners I get rid of grime and oil that fingers can lea e and any oils

Then I spray it in a booth which is heated and has ventilation AND IS HEATED KNOWN AS AN OVEN
Basically it what I use to spray car bits

Then spray and leave them to harden at least a day and this will be hard enough to polish to

OH I FORGOTTO ADD A PICTURE OF THE HARDENER AND THE FACT I GET ALL KITTED UP LIKE WALTER WHITE FROM BREAKING BAD ....

WELL A BREATHING MASK AND OVERALLS AS THIS STUFF ISNT GOOD FOR BREATHING IN A CONFINED SPACE

Edited for trading

Just enough for you to spend and not walk away I haven't figured out how much it costs per steel if you get me the more that's done obviously due to postage from US but I'm in England

omg... if you are in england you should really start a business and gloss at leat the steels of european ninjas.
Seriously it is absolutely amazing and I so badly want my WIR and possibly my Corpse Bride steel to be glossed.
if not too expensive between glossing and postage, you could make a fortune and I would be glad to give you my hard earned money :)

how much lol
and good find stephen interesting vid

I don't know tbh :) I guess for a one off something like £5. For a bulk order something like £4 each for 5 steels, and £3 each for 10 or more? Postage both ways to be covered by me?

It really comes down to how long it takes you to do each one (or how many you can do in an hour on average including taking them apart) and the cost of your materials.

BTW the Wreck It Ralph looks amazing! Can we have more pics of that one please?

Absolutely amazing work.

Hope that you do start up a business. Will definitely send some work your way. Great stuff.

Wreck it Ralph is just killer. Looks better than blufans now IMO. Would love you to gloss my zavvi WIR.

Was hoping we could have a home for DIY glossing steelbooks. I know we have a "modifying steelbooks" thread, but maybe we could use this particular thread to post pictures of home glossed steels, anyone asking for tips on how best to do it, or even for getting others opinions on a certain steel before taking the plunge e.g "Hey guys, do you reckon that the Captain America Zavvi steelbook would look better glossy or should it stay matte?"

Anyway, feel free to share your experiences!
