So, we have the "Fake" and "Steelbook Price Drop" thread, but we don't yet have the thread where you post listings with "crazy" prices for Steelbooks. If you see any, post them here and have fun debating. As per forum rules, please remain respectful with each other-one person's "high price", could be another's "deal of a lifetime" score. Enjoy! :scat:

Please keep discussion to Ebay and other retailers, not private sellers.

The more I see this thread and the more I think "I'm stupid, I could make money out of this". They make it look so easy.

I should be one of them sharks myself

How do you think i feel ? I sell alot of stuff but nothing on ebay, although the more i think about it the more im saying "why not" ??

What would be the "resonable" sale price for a sealed Canada "Inglourious Bastards"?

Take care
John

I will give you $100 for it. How can you pass that profit John!!!

If i had it for sale i proberbly would sell it to you, I just asked becasue i see someone (german guy) selling one for 160 Euros....

Just wondering if he would/could get that money...

Mine is open - i just had to open mine up back then when it was released...:D

Take care
john

A "little" high? $400 for Transformers, really?

It's like me asking $4000 for Iron Man. Good luck to him in any case, I mean, if he can find morons to pay that price, good for him.

I don't know about you guys, but I just ignore eBay asking price until it's sold.

If I put my Iron Man for $1,000,000, it doesn't mean it's worth 1 million LOL...

The one thing I've learned over my time collecting steelbooks is that nothing is really rare or hard to get. Just expensive. Go in with enough money and you'll find every prized steelbook in no time at all (Not that I've been able to do that myself, but it's become apparent that's how it is). Most steelbooks are produced in runs of 4000+ units so there's no shortage of copies out there. It just takes $$s to get them circulating.

So I think that guy who is selling at astronomically high prices is just reacting to that and allowing the market to determine the vaiue on some of the most collectable steelbooks. All it takes is for somebody wealthy to come in and purchase at those crazy prices and a new market value is set.

Ebay is a very different and far more ruthless environment to forum trading, where collectors are generally pleased to help each other out. But in an odd way that kind of outrageous profiteering benefits everybody as it drives up the value in the collections we have sitting at home. I'm just glad that there are people around who don't take that approach, otherwise building a collection would become cost-prohibitve to all but the very rich. And that really would be a shame.

Exactly, thank you. And the problem is, it tends to increase the asking prices after that. People see crazy prices and then say to themselves "hey if this guy lists it at this price, I should do it too." And we end up with average steels like Angels & Demons jumping in value from $60/$70 to $200+ in a month or so.

Sucks for the new collectors.

Angels and Demons is selling for $200? LOL...seriously? for that movie and that steelbook? Wow :hilarious:

At that price, you can get Wanted, Star Trek, oh my ..so many holy grail :)

for $200 for that? Damn...good for Angels and Demons I guess :)

Is it debossed or embossed or anything? bling effect? yes?

Hey folks - we all know there are ebay sellers on here, and folks that have items that are rare and sometimes are listed at high(er) prices.

It's all subjective - the price is listed for, the price it will get, the price that you, a member, might find too high.

Let's keep this discussion civil and respectful AND FUN... at all times. I don't need to come back in here and clean up this thread again.

Feel free to continue your discussion via pm - let's try and remember why we all like this forum.

Thank you.
