So, we have the "Fake" and "Steelbook Price Drop" thread, but we don't yet have the thread where you post listings with "crazy" prices for Steelbooks. If you see any, post them here and have fun debating. As per forum rules, please remain respectful with each other-one person's "high price", could be another's "deal of a lifetime" score. Enjoy! :scat:

Please keep discussion to Ebay and other retailers, not private sellers.

It's a HUGE big deal for OCD collectors... People who are OCD collectors are the ones paying the big bucks to these steelbook. They want everything to be the same as new...and a missing back card is HUGE. It's like a missing tattoo from Rambo or a missing dog tag from Inglorious Basterds.

So...folks...if you want the most out of your steelbook, you better save those back info. I have noticed a lot of people selling them without them...so I avoid them. This pretty much applies to all hobby and collectible items. I collect statues too and if I see anything missing, then forget it. Just my opinion and how I collect things...

For instance, a guy on eBay selling Inglorious Basterds for $199 as Like-New. I asked him if he had the insert or tag, and he said No. He said it shouldn't be a big deal, but I said. it's a big deal to me. Several days later, no one bought it...so he lowered it to $169..no one bought it..so he lowered it to $139...and still no one bought it.

If you don't care or find it a big deal, then feel free to throw them away :)

I don't understand why it would be a big deal if there's not a back info card for something like an Iron Man or other steels. Am I missing something here?

Interesting. Hadn't heard that before. I like when it comes with it, but not a deal breaker for me.

Anyways, thanks for the information. I'm still relatively new to steelbook collecting(since November).

OCD collectors are funny :)

Some would not accept a rare steelbook that doesn't have the stickers because they are afraid it might be an opened copy that somebody released. Now that's insane :joy:

You say that but there are people out there that would do that.
I'm not too OCD but I am to a certain extent. And I 100% understand why people are. I won't buy anything that isn't new. Not just with steelbooks either.

I guess I don't have the collector mentality my friend. It's a hobby, and I'm not OCD.

I've said it many times, I rarely get attached to material things. My friends know all about that :)

is it not like buying transformers rotf without any discs then you have to open it to add discs .. ok i admit its a nice cover but way too much money ... i could buy 4 to 6 steels for that sort of cash and have a film to watch :hilarious:

I was like that at the beginning too. I was buying left and right, not realizing about the missing back info sheet. As I get more and more involved in the hobby, I pay attention to "completeness". And like slimjim said "completeness" is very important to me.

Even til this day, I have 2 steelbook with missing back info sheet...and one of them is rare too LOL...so I find myself bidding another copy of it just for the info sheet. I have been outbid pretty much every time :) I won't make the same mistake again.

I agree with the biscuit, I have 13 steels on the rare list, and still, to me, they're boring pieces of crap metal. I buy them to one day sell my collection to you all for double the price I paid :D
