So, we have the "Fake" and "Steelbook Price Drop" thread, but we don't yet have the thread where you post listings with "crazy" prices for Steelbooks. If you see any, post them here and have fun debating. As per forum rules, please remain respectful with each other-one person's "high price", could be another's "deal of a lifetime" score. Enjoy! :scat:

Please keep discussion to Ebay and other retailers, not private sellers.

Okay guys, the only way we know if Batman Begins will go for this silly price is for a volunteer with multiple BB steelz to put one at auction for 99 cents. If the sale goes through and paid no probs, delivered and confirmed by the member then we know what it likely to go for. Firstly, any volunteers? lol

I'm seriously thinking about doing this. :ohno: $500+ will really help fund the next few months. I'll wait until the current auction ends and see where it lands.

To be fair the last mint sealed one that was put on an auction went for £260 EEK! So that's a semi decent price. I'm pretty sure that the seller bought it for 150 Euros (not from me lol)!

I guess so.

It has to be said that in the hand those Gladiator metal slips are amazing.

Unbelievable, Batman Begins JPN now at $510 with 9 hours to go. So far the highest record for a Batman steel.

I think this will finish between $600 - $700.

Thats $1 for each of the black jumbo versions I have to buy.

I'd be insanely surprised if they were genuine bidders.

I remember last year in November 2011 (I think it was Nov) Iron Man FS was bidded upto $1035 (before shipping) - the first ever steel to break the $1000 barrier. Everyone thought the same that it was not genuine etc. The IM was not even 100% mint.

In fact it was a genuine bid and the buyer left feedback. I also checked the buyer's other feedback as a buyer and he has paid for some very expensive steelz. This was a one off but it just shows there are people who have money to spend and $1000 for IM may not be alot to them. Same here with BB, $500 might be just a days work.

Damn... I should put mine up for sale too and just buy a few good steelbooks for that amount!

Your 100% right! I'm one of those people BUT I would never spend $500 or $1000 on a steel.... Bad Bad investment! It's not an autographed football card.... It's a fricken movie!!! :hilarious: seriously

Sucks when something amazing happens everyone has to think negative... I think it's human instinct to behave this way. Someone hits a home run ..there on steroids! Someone throws a perfect game..oh well he put some lube on the ball and he just didn't get caught! Two big sales go down with steelbooks and there's talk of shil bidding......:dunno:

It is surprising how fast this rose in price given that a month ago these were going for around the $150 mark. Also notice how many listings there have been this week alone when there were none for 2 weeks prior to that

BB *** worth $500 -I don't think so

Well, true, but in this case I'm pretty sure it was shill bidding! I'm sure the high bidder was just wealthy enough to not give a damn - he wanted it and the seller took advantage of that. Just look at the ebay statistic of the runner-up on this auction:

This guy has bid on ONE movie in the last 30 days and it just happen to be $500 for Batman Begins (ignoring the various other ones that were on ebay over the last weeks and sold for less than half of that)???. I mean, if the buyer is happy, so be it, but we should be careful in saying that BB *** is now worth $500 - it is not and probably won't be for quite a while...
