So, we have the "Fake" and "Steelbook Price Drop" thread, but we don't yet have the thread where you post listings with "crazy" prices for Steelbooks. If you see any, post them here and have fun debating. As per forum rules, please remain respectful with each other-one person's "high price", could be another's "deal of a lifetime" score. Enjoy! :scat:

Please keep discussion to Ebay and other retailers, not private sellers.

Glad someone agrees lol. Thanks Mehdi. I'm the exact same. There's nothing I enjoy more than trading and giving gifts etc. I love that part of collecting. Just ask buzz!! Lol

And this is why I don't sell steelbooks (unless of course they are part of a GB or if I pick up some items for members in here), I'm all about the trades.

I couldn't agree more my friend, and people who know me know why I do all the GB's. I do it so people won't need to buy for silly prices on eBay.

Hell I don't even accept tips anymore, what I do I do it for fun. And people tell me "what about your time and gas". Well it's my choice. Nobody asked me to do it, I'm doing it for the love of the hunt and for the community as a whole. Plus, it gives me a good excuse to go to FS all the time :hilarious: And trust me, that's the best tip of all :)

Some intresting facts going on here in this thread ... not that i'm joining any side , but i think the comments made by barry is spot on !!

thanks Quartz. And I am not saying i am correct. It is just my opinion.

But lets move on anyway. I dont want to look like a troublemaker. But at least everyone knows, if you want to sell me a steelbook, I will buy it n omore than face-value from you :movie:

or we can trade

Barry when you have a 'rare' steelbook I expect you to sell it to me at cost price please, thanks a lot!

I see where you coming from Barry, but Why is someone going to sell something worth a lot more for retail price? I wish I could trade for everything I want but some of us aren't lucky enough to have awesome rare trading chips like biscuit so if you want something you have to pay the price people are asking! Oxford nick has got it spot on also everything I try to trade on here I just get offered crap for so I end up going to eBay for the stuff I want and pay a bomb for it. Most of the time I get lucky though and sunnyx hooks me up with the best price im ever going to find but that's like me expecting him to sell me something for retail price when it's worth 5 times that. That's the way the world works I'm afraid!

At the same time, one shouldn't expect something of higher value to be sold for a lower price.

Yep exactly. Prices are more or less set by the public and more rarer the item the more expensive it is going to be.

Someone sells me an expensive steelbook for X amount, and I decide to sell it for that 'X' amount on here or on ebay, is it fair for people to criticise how much I am selling the steelbook at X amount for? People don't realise the cost of actually acquiring the steelbook in the first place.
