So, we have the "Fake" and "Steelbook Price Drop" thread, but we don't yet have the thread where you post listings with "crazy" prices for Steelbooks. If you see any, post them here and have fun debating. As per forum rules, please remain respectful with each other-one person's "high price", could be another's "deal of a lifetime" score. Enjoy! :scat:

Please keep discussion to Ebay and other retailers, not private sellers.

I dont see the point in name calling for someone trying to make money.
The name calling should be pointed at those that buy at those inflated prices.

if someone manages to make thousands on selling a product at inflated prices, all the more power to them I say. It is the buyer that chooses to buy.

So...... people who ask for inflated prices are unethical or scalpers and people who buy at these prices are stupid. LOL! My view is that we should STOP the name calling and get on with the discussion. Name calling is childish and does not add anything useful to the discussion.

Need some advise here, as I think I have been conned!

That's Igans316's photo...I recognise the bedspread :naughty:

Same seller has no taste, check the purchases EEK!

Dealing with this person as we speak!

Anyone recognise this seller?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gladiator...t=UK_CDsDVDs_DVDs_DVDs_GL&hash=item19daf13a6c

They've been putting grails on sale (which have been selling, T2 JP V2.0, Rambo, TDK FNAC), but using stock photos. Now they are lifting pics from Google and even admitting it.

Check out the description for Gladiator on the above link?

"PLEASE NOTE: This didn't come to me sealed but I have had it resealed by a sealing machine - so this picture is for demonstration purposes only to show you what it looks like as I refuse to unseal mine."

Scammer alert?

PM me I bought Rambo and Iron Man and now believe its a con

i'll let you know as i am one of the buyers EEK! so i will find out very soon!! The comms with seller has been excellent so far. Like the rest of you i was VERY unsure about the item, the old adage "if it looks too good to be true....." We will soon see! I bought the T2 v2.0, is there anything obvious to look out for to see if it's genuine? I would hope that if i can prove it's a fake i'll get some sort of cover from ebay/payal/cc!!

yeah that always works, selling grails on ebay for a "cheap" price no matter the feedback or pictures, they will be bought...thats what i would call a scammers paradise!

i became scammed by people like this too and now if i see that kind of ebay listings it puts a smile on my face and i always feel with the poor buyers...

my advise is:try to get your money back as fast as possible!!!!

I know I am covered with paypal but want to collect as much info on this person as I can, and I can supply anyone else with additional info to track her/him down.

I have spent £1200 on 2 steels with this seller decided to send via first class signed for???? Tracking cannot trace number should have arrived on Monday gone but nothing

Any advice would be great

@Bigman: Oh no, I'm terribly sorry man I really feel for you, hope all gets sorted out for you sooner than later bud.

Am I right to say that the Gladiator TW listing with my photo was bogus?

Sure,i was convinced he is a scammer at the point i have seen his first item...

and now bigmans confirmation, the only thing i dont understand is why these people offer paypal as a payment method though they are planning to scam people??dont they know its so easy to get the money back if you buy something using paypal...

If they withdraw the funds from their paypal account as soon as you send it to them, even if you win the claim, zero funds in the account means that there is nothing for paypal to give back to you.

There has to be a checking account and/or a credit card behind that sellers paypal account, so money will be deducted from somewhere and the buyer will get his refund either way!!

Hi Mate, please lodge a claim with eBay at once and tell them what happened. I was also a victim of an eBay scam recently - I bought a brand new IM FS on eBay. I lodged a claim and after a while, was refunded my money in full (by paypal).

Please don't worry too much. it should be ok.

That is completely false, unless it just changed. Paypal cannot pull money from a credit card or bank without authorization. I speak from firsthand knowledge on this fyi.

yeah thats right, but is it possible to create a fake paypal account, receive money with that account, transfer the money to your bank account and never use this paypal fake account anymore??

so many accounts:hilarious:

I had the exact thing happen to me. When I got a hold of someone at PayPal they told me that the account I sent money to had only been opened for a week, as soon as I sent money to it the money was sent to a different account, and the scammer hadn't even logged back into the account again.

Outside of eBay, you don't need to verify your PayPal account. So no need to put in a bank account/credit card. If you are selling on eBay and rip someone off, your bank account would get flagged so that you wouldn't be able to use it with another PayPal account. But PayPal still have no authority to take money from your bank account or credit card even if you do rip someone off.

Just to clarify, and this comes from Paypal, what people have said on here regards refunds etc is incorrect. I have spoke to them today and they confirm that they will close my case on Monday and issue a full refund regardless of the sellers account. The sellers have until then to provide a receipt to confirm sending items (which they have not got)

So everyone be careful and if you require any other details please PM me.
