So, we have the "Fake" and "Steelbook Price Drop" thread, but we don't yet have the thread where you post listings with "crazy" prices for Steelbooks. If you see any, post them here and have fun debating. As per forum rules, please remain respectful with each other-one person's "high price", could be another's "deal of a lifetime" score. Enjoy! :scat:

Please keep discussion to Ebay and other retailers, not private sellers.

The Asian steels have not lost that much value. Your taking the extreme prices on ebay. You can do that with any item on ebay on a given day. I sold a Korean steel last week for $250. I paid $30 for it. So does that mean I should take that extreme price and say prices are on the way up?

I agree with you, Chip. Things go up, things go down, but rare is rare, and those will not lose their value permanently. That's what I believe anyways, that's why I am still picking up seconds and thirds of OOP and rare steel, and bypassing almost all the new releases. There is always a right time to pick up some titles, and a wrong time to do so. It just requires a bit of homework, and patience.

That's bizarre with HP 7.1. On sold on eBay uk last night for £80, so around $122.

Just goes to show how volatile eBay selling can be.

You subscribe to my philosophy on collecting steels my friend. Yes, just like Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism, Stevoism is a philosophy that can be applied in collecting steels. All this time collecting, and my collection is only 180 steels. Low in numbers, high in quality, the central core to Stevoism.

I sold a load of mine to an ebay scalper, got a decent price for them, not much less in some cases as I'd been left after ebay fees etc and no postage issues. I sold my Thors for £75 each and he sold them for £125. He shifted them too!

sold him over £1200 in one go. I reckon I made about £300+ profit in the end but really I was just happy to shift them. Some I took a loss on, some a slight gain and some a heavy gain

what i think is strange about this listing:why does he use a stock pic of the real FNAC version and the "self-made" pic is from another dark knight???

LOL. He shows the actual product as the "open steelbook". Which is REALLY easy to get, since you could just have the amazon.fr one, buy the comic separately and you have an open TDKR FNAC.

So...a bit misleading.

"The rare Stickers are inside the Steelbook, because the foil outside was removed."

And this is actually had more copies printed than the UK Jack Reacher. :hilarious: :scat:

The FNAC exclusive TDK has only 2 artcards, and none of these 4 cards are part of them.
There's also a cardholder which doesn't seem to be present.
I can't see the FNAC exclusive sticker on the pic, only the advertisement sticker.

The booklet seems to be the good one, though :D

I wouldn't bet on this release to be a FNAC one.

By the way, an unsealed copy is easy to grab for 30 euros or so... ;)

This guy is really pissing me off now, every time I search for a popular steelbook his listings fill up the page, so please if you come across them use the report item link, choose "listing practices" followed by "Search and browse manipulation" then "Keyword spamming" hopefully if enough people report it, ebay will take action.

Yep. Annoying as hell. Done. Do it on all listings.
