I can still see why people would want to stop collecting steelbooks based off re-releases though. I sourced a copy of The Raid when it was on pre-order and than decided to get a 2nd copy after release based on it's perceived rarity. Including shipping, I paid just under $60 for it. While it was being shipped to me, amazon.de released the image of the play.com steelbook on their page for 20 euros. Did I just waste $30? If amazon.de released the same steelbook, I would be. And that perceived rarity would be gone.

Case in point, "You can never pay too much for something you want." What you have to come to terms with is "Did you really want that 2nd Copy?" and more profoundly, "Why" would equal your answer. :hilarious:

So what you find lame is people that want to keep their expensive blu-rays sealed, intact, & at the peak of their collectibility?

so I'm guessing once you have bought a new collectible comic book, sports card, or action figure, the first thing you do is take it out of it's packaging and play with it, amirite?

Correct, because otherwise what the hells the point?!

I know you guys are being playful ; but lets keep it at that. There will always be different types of collectors in the steelbook world.

Sealed or Open

and

those for re-releases and those against. Many of those "for" them I've seen turn "against" once they had some rarity's in their collection.

I have contacted Koch Media AG and they told me, that this Amazon exclusive version will be exactly the same as the uk version - with debossing! (just the look of the steelbook). But we will only know for sure when we have got the first pictures.

And its "only" the theatrical/international Cut...
i heard there's missing 10 sec.:tear:

Here you can see what is missing...

Well I was told that they were being made to hire the same designer to redesign front artwork ... so we'll see.
