Very difficult for me to articulate just how excited I am for tomorrow mornings viewing. I have been following the developments of this movie since it was rumoured back in early 2014, and now it's finally here.

For those that have seen it, what was the OST like?

Thanks

I liked it. It's very leisurely, but as the film accelerates so does the OST. I especially enjoyed these scenes, because even if the last 20 minutes or so where really calm, with one big bang you are SO in the middle of it, it's amazing. Liked the soundtrack as it fits to the natural tone of the film, but it's not one of these OSTs I would by on vinyl to listen to it frequently. @meth head

Thanks @Back to the Matrix

I absolutely hear what you are saying. Some OST's are great, but have limited or no playability on their own merit. I had a feeling this might be that type of OST. Just appreciating the film from what I have seen of the trailer, I think Cliff Mansell would have crafted a worthy score and maybe more accessible on its own.

Yeah, you can say what you want, but you'll see that the OST fits the film perfectly. Inarritu knows how to involve music as he showed in his previous films, although I didn't enjoy Birdman's music for some reason. In comparison I'd definitely prefer The Revenant, but that's of course a matter of taste.

However, have fun with The Revenant! I hope it measures up to your expectations, but it's an extra-ordinary cinematic experience people should experience on the big screen. That I can say! @meth head

I think from a cinematic experience, this probably has to be the greatest film I have ever seen. It might even pip There Will Be Blood.

The cinematography and spralling camera shots were unbelievable. This is a feat of filmmaking. I genuinely came out of the cinema thinking how on earth did they manage that. Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu is the star of the show here. He brought his vision to the big screen and wow did it impress. Saying that, all performances are off the charts. This is probably Leo's greatest performance yet and surely the one to win him the Oscar. I thought Hardy, Gleeson and Poulter were all outstanding too. Such a special, special film in every single aspect.

I enjoyed it and I wanted to enjoy it a lot more but just a nagging feeling that it could have been tighter with some more judicious editing as it seemed to drag in the middle. The two time Oscar cinematographer was indulged a bit too much for my liking and it put the brakes on the pace of the movie but its a beautiful watch and I'll certainly be buying it.

Same too! Took the words right out of my mouth/fingers :p

I absolutely loved this film, it's truly up there with saving private Ryan, gladiator and films of that stature.
For me it's just as good as private Ryan.
I was blown away by this film, I can't believe how they did some of those scenes, it felt real and was just incredible to watch and it looked like everyone put their "all" into it.
Hardy was a brilliant savage and played it so well (he's so hit and miss for me - has some great films but winds me up in others, but this he's great)
Gleeson and the kid from we are the millers was excellent too but DiCaprio as always stole the show.
He has to win the Oscar for this. If he don't then I don't what he will pull out the bag next. He's goes through so much sh*t in this film and it must be one of the only Leo films where he barely has any lines.

Kind of reminded me of gravity

I'm curious , how did this remind you of gravity ?

Although this has a few more characters it reminded me of gravity because of one persons journey of survival going through sh*t after sh*t constantly and also because of some of the filming and editing making scenes look like one take (there were a few long takes in this anyway). Just completely different environments.
