The pictures of this (including mine) just DO NOT do it justice! I just got mine today and after looking at pics for a week now - seeing this "in-hand" is just amazing. The paint is BEAuTIFUL! Anyone sitting on the sidelines on this is missing out. It's hard to explain but the blue on the back is incredible. I was super excited about this one and it delivers. :oohyeah::drool:

Actually I think your pic makes it look way better.

really:emb: have you not seen die hard with a vengeance..

I'd say Die Hard with a Vengeance is the plainest steelbook. Not the laziest.

With The Rocketeer, they simply took an existing image and lamped it onto a steelbook. As you can see clearly with the border. If they took just 5 minutes, they could have either removed the thin border or thickened it to the edge of the embossing.

Pure and utter laziness. Sadly, I don't believe Die Hard was as lazy.

gonna have to respectfully disagree with you buddy

ok, they took an existing image but they took an absolutely astounding image image that has never been used on any home video version before. :D

Have to agree with bigrob here they took the image that embodies the movie. The retro poster is exactly like the style of the movie. Maybe it was a used image but in this case it was the correct used image to use

It is the border that ruins it though mate.

Retro poster, yes. Border, no.

I Gave my copy a nice custom black border

I am an artist (not a professionally well paid one) and just by adding that full border, I think it brings out the retro image a lot better. Like I said a few posts back, all they had to do was spend 5 minutes touching up the border and it could have been a winner.

Now that you added a custom border, it looks 10 times better. And that image just pops out more! Well done!!
