To be honest, if you consider that a newly-released 4K movie costs 30 dollars, going on 70 (to say) for a premium one, is not that bad considering that you'll have an exclusive or at least WWA steelbook inside w/ goodies and s#it, and outside in most cases an exclusive artwork.
After that, you would have to consider that for every movie a premium ret. makes an edition, they have to pay fees/royalties to the movie's distribution house. And as someone who quite knows those type of things, I can assure you that's not all that cheap.
Also, I think that Scanavo would make you pay more for less steelbooks (so a premium), and something cheaper for a big print, like Warner. That makes sense.
So, after all, even if they are expensive, if they are VERY-WELL made, I could go for that, talkin' personally. At least for what I know, premium retailers earnings for an edition are not so impressive if you think every thing they have to pay in order to do those.
Of course I think also the average price is expensive due to premiums being exclusive, things for collectors, after all, and considering that they go all for a relatively small print.
You’re right on all of those points. They are all relevant for primary market, retailer will set the price that should draw enough demand to meet the supply while also maintaining the speed of sales on the acceptable for specific retailer rate. Meaning Bestbuy can afford selling its stock for a longer time than lets say Cinemuseum. That’s why price formation process for both of those companies will be different as Cinemuseum will need to worry for the speed of sale way more than Bestbuy while also operating on a different profit margin.
But it all becomes completely irrelevant once the primary market is out of supply. New secondary market is created where price formation is again different and will mostly depend on what specific individuals with enough money are willing to pay for the thing they really want. There is no logical reason behind the price of Bestbuy’s Ant Man and the Wasp steelbook on the secondary market other than the fact that people want it and are ready to pay above $100 for it. And they want specifically that item and not the European version that is basicall the same but much cheaper.

I hope you do realize that everything you buy from Amazon is technically a glorified drop-shipping system:) and Amazon being the biggest retailer in the world, it is clear that we all agreed that drop-shipping is a completely acceptable commercial tool.
I don't buy s#it off amazon :)

(Apart Movies xD)

Yeah, it can be hard to find stuff if you don't use the exact right search words (kind of a pain, really).
if you're not familiar with it already, @C.C. 95, may i introduce you to fatfingers? :) searches for slight typos on eBay of the correctly spelled title you enter. my biggest success using this so far was when i finally got Momento Kimchi polaroid lenti for a steal :woot:. if there's no typo examples to find, you'll get a nil return message. to see how it works, try putting in "Justice League." or, of course, "The Shining" (which gives you this)

Thanks! I'll give it a try, @steelmybeatingheart .
Sounds similar to Goofbid. Whatever tools work to land those discs, ammirite?;)
(and it's actually quite funny how people can list sale items and get the spelling completely wrong, or misplace a decimal point!
"surely, he cannot mean to be asking $1000.00 for a Green Lantern steelbook?")

Well....14 months after ordering, it's arrived this morning. In my opinion it's an amazing piece, fantastic embossing and wonderful artwork on the box and full slip.

Lenticular is great too I might add. Definitely one I intend to keep!

One of those OC choices that turned out to be a very good one. Very nice. :)
